Chapter 56

LONELY! TXT.

"No."

Yeonjun frowned.

"What?"

"No."

Silence passed by the two before Yeonjun gasped loudly, eyes widening as if he finally understood what she had just said.

"I thought you liked me!?"

"I do like you!" she replied, eyes also widening in shock.

"Then why won't you go out with me?"

Jaewon blushed, embarrassed as she looked down at her feet and took one small step away from Yeonjun.

"I like you but..." she trailed of, sighing.

"But...?"

Yeonjun was beyond confused. He had genuinely believed Jaewon would have said yes to going out with him. There was literally no reason for her to refuse.

"I don't think I'm ready to date someone."

Except that.

"W...What?" Yeonjun stuttered, clearly surprised.

"After Beomgyu? I don't think I can date so soon...it's only been a while since we broke up." Jaewon bit her lip, letting out her inner thoughts to Yeonjun who frowned again, this time a disappointed yet understanding expression on his face.

"Do you want time? or something else? I mean...tell me what you want. Help me out here." Yeonjun muttered, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

When he opened them again, Jaewon was still biting her lip, something she did whenever she was nervous.

and Yeonjun knew this.

"Alright then...I'll wait."

Jaewon looked up and their eyes met.

"I'll wait until you're ready to date me."

Yeonjun gave a firm nod towards the girl, heart beating faster as determination piled onto him.

"Come to me when you're ready and I'll be there, waiting for you." he smiled, "I love you Jaewon."

When the girl didn't say anything back, a small wave of sadness crossed him before he remember Jaewon didn't fully understand the word 'love'. So, instead, he nodded and started walking towards the entrance to Huening Kai's house.

"and I'll wait until you can say it back." he added.

Yeonjun winked at the girl, disappeared from her view, leaving her blushing with her heart pounding faster than ever.

"Did you know that rats are not physically capable of vomiting and that is why Rat Poison is so effective?"

"What the fuck did you just say?"

"I don't know, I'm reading what google told me."

"Why did you even search for whatever you searched for?"

"Cause I'm bored! We aren't doing anything."

"WHAT? SO YOU FIND A USELESS FACT ABOUT RATS-"

"JAEWON CALM DOWN-"

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!"

"IT'S JUST A DUMB FACT!"

"It is not!"

"HUENING SHUT UP!"

❅ ❅ ❅

After the incredibly pointless argument on Heuning Kai giving 'dumb facts' ( quote from Jaewon who got extremely pissed ) and Yeonjun trying to calm every down, Jaewon was just pure annoyed. No one really knew why she was so angry with something as dumb as what just happened but no one questioned it, knowing when Jaewon was angry, it was better not to disturb her.

Only Yeonjun decided to ignore this.

He walked straight towards the girl who was peacefully sitting on the couch and glaring at absolutely nothing before she caught sight of him. Surprised, she watched as he moved forward and stopped right in front of her.

Yeonjun leaned forward, tilting his head and placing his hands on either side of the couch, trapping Jaewon between his sturdy arms. Jaewon crossed her arms and glared at him, trying to maintain her straight face. After all, she was the upset one here.

"What's with the face, Choi?" Yeonjun asked, a smirk forming on his handsome face.

"Move." Jaewon muttered, rolling her eyes but still blushing at the close proximity of the boy,

Yeonjun noticed her slightly pink cheeks and chuckled, shaking his head so that his blue hair was swept to the side and out of his eyes.

"I don't want you to make that angry face." the blue hair weirdo said and Jaewon rolled her eyes again.

Yeonjun bit his inner cheek at her action and leaned forward, eyes never leaving her dark brown ones.

"I don't want you rolling your eyes at me either." he whispered.

Jaewon's attitude dropped and she gulped, startled by the sudden dominance Yeonjun was showing.

She had never seen him this way.

"What are you guys doing?"

Yeonjun immediately darted back in shock, coughing as Jaewon blushed hard, starled to have been caught in a moment like that. With an angry glare, once again for no apparent reason, she glanced towards where the voice had come from to see who interrupted their moment before catching sight of Soobin trying to disappear behind the door.

"Shit." he muttered, freezing as he realised he had been caught.

Chuckling nervously, he gave the two staring friends a quick wave before turning around and running for his life.

Deciding to let him go for now, Yeonjun rolled his eyes before turning around and looking at Jaewon, now embarrassed himself as he realised what he had done earlier.

He had absolutely no idea why he kept doing all these bold moves.

"How about we go eat?" he finally spoke, deciding to be brave again.

Jaewon looked up, a slight dazed expression on her face before nodding and standing up, previous anger suddenly gone.

"and don't make that scary face, everyone is afraid to talk to you when you look like that." with that said, Yeonjun and Jaewon headed into the kitchen where everyone else was, waiting to eat the snacks Huening Kai's mom had made.

The day went by pretty quickly, the group deciding to know Sofia better and play games together in order to have some extra fun before parting ways for Sunday.

The group waved to Huening Kai first and left together, soon letting Taehyun and then Soobin go. When Sofia informed she would head to her house herself ( mostly cause she didn't want to third wheel ) Jaewon and Yeonjun nodded, letting her go. Now, it was only them two heading towards their houses.

Jaewon glanced at Yeonjun, not really sure if she could ask what she had been thinking about but at the same time knowing he would probably be the only one who could help her. Deciding to not be a wimp, she stopped walking, Yeonjun following.

"What's up?" he asked, noticing her lack of movement.

Jaewon sighed, shutting her eyes and taking a deep breath before opening them again.

"I need help with something...but I'm not sure how to do it."

Yeonjun blinked quickly, a little confused at the sudden statement but still willing to help however he could.

"Ask away. I told you, I'm always here."

Jaewon's cheeks produced a soft blush, causing both to smile.

"My house...it's empty...and lonely."

Yeonjun titled his head, frowning as he wondered where this was going.

"I can't live there any longer...it's hard." Jaewon sighed.

"All I can think of is my dad and all the bad memories I had made there when I'm inside that place. It doesn't feel like home and it's not even in a good condition. I..." Jaewon hesitated.

She looked at Yeonjun who gave her a nod, urging her to continue.

"I want to sell it."

❅ ❅ ❅

"Hello?"

"Hi, Sofia! Jaewon gave me your number." Soobin exclaimed, lowkey relieved Jaewon hadn't decided to prank him with a fake number or anything.

"Oh! Hi Soobin...how are you?" Sofia's voice replied as Soobin felt his cheeks heat up.

"I...I'm okay. I was um...wondering if you wanted to meet up?"

"O...oh! Um, when?" the girl asked, clearly surprised.

She hadn't expected a call from Soobin, especially after just leaving him.

"Well, how about right now?" Soobin bit his lip, knowing what he asked was a little weird considering they had just been together.

"Er...we were just- okay sure." Sofia mumbled before deciding to go for it.

She liked Soobin, it was clear. And she was not going to be a wimp and let someone as amazing as him just go.

She was going to actually try for once.

She was going to step up and be brave.

On the other side of the phone, Soobin blushed, already excited as he mentally prepared himself for their day or what he was going to call, their 'date'.

"Meet you at the cafe near school." he said and started pacing around his room, thinking of what to take with him.

Sofia sighed on the other end and nodded before remembering Soobin couldn't see her.

"See you." she muttered softly.

Soobin hummed a little before hanging up and letting out a literal squeal, not really understanding why he was so ready to take on the world but doing it anyway.

Soon, he and Sofia were both sitting at their now usual spot at the cafe, smiles on their faces and blushes clear on their cheeks.

They liked each other, no questioning it.

Now, they just had to confess it.
