Chapter 57: 57

LONELY! TXT.Words: 18908

"I fucking hate school." Jaewon sweared, crossing her arms as she entered the hallways.

"Tch can you go on for even a minute without swearing?" Taehyun shook his head.

Jaewon stuck her tongue out in response.

Soobin, who stood beside Jaewon as they walked to school together, chuckled before catching sight of Sofia standing near her locker, a blank expression on her face. Bidding his friends goodbye, Soobin nervously fixed his appearance ( even though he looked damn good in the opinion of everyone else in the hallway ), and made his way over to the oblivious glare.

"Boo!" he yelled, grabbing her shoulders.

She gasped, dropping her books back into her locker and flinching in shock. When she turned her head and saw Soobin laughing, an annoyed and tired smile crossed her face.

"Fun." she said sarcastically.

Soobin grinned despite feeling apologetic and tilted his head, leaning against the locker beside the girl's and pouting.

"I'm sorry. Will you forgive me?"

Sofia shook her head, doing her best not to fall for Soobin's charms yet still failing miserable.

"No." she bit back her laughter when signs of shock and worry flashed through Soobin's pretty eyes.

"I'm kidding, of course I forgive you."

Soobin immediately sighed in relief and stood up straight, a wide smile once again finding his face before he waved at Sofia who was blushing, before leaving to his next class with Jaewon and the rest of TXT.

"See you!" he called out.

The girl waved in response, a small blossom of happiness sitting in her chest. The moment he disappeared though, she sighed and turned to face her locker again as the school bell rang. An empty feeling filled her chest and emotion left her face until she was just blankly staring at her abandoned books.

Why was she like this?

With another sigh leaving her pink lips, Sofia grabbed her belongings, slammed her locker shut, and headed towards her next class, a few minutes late.

"Jaewonnnnnn"

"No."

"Jaewon, pleaseeeee!"

"Can you stop?"

"No." Yeonjun pouted.

"I am not feeding you." Jaewon crossed her arms, glaring at the blue hair weirdo.

"I made the food though! The least you could do is feed me!" he reasoned, refusing to give up.

It was currently lunchtime and all the TXT members plus Jaewon and Sofia were sitting down together, table holding nothing but noise due to Yeonjun's whining, Jaewon's anger, Taehyun's constant 'shut ups!' and Huening Kai who was singing for no apparent reason. Sofia sat in silence, a blank expression still on her face and Soobin did the same, silent for a different reason.

He was silent because he wanted to know why Sofia looked so tired.

"Please!" Yeonjun asked again and this time Jaewon finally snapped, grabbing the spoon from his lunchbox, taking a huge bit of food, and shoving it into the boy's open mouth.

His eyes widened and he immediately began choking, desperately trying to actually eat the food in an attempt for it to stop blocking his throat. Jaewon's face turned into an identical expression and she scrambled up to give him water. Slapping his back, she watched him with a guilty expressoin on her face until he drank water and was soon okay. The rest of TXT had quieted down, now staring at Jaewon who apologized over and over again and Yeonjun who kept saying it was his fault for bothering her. When they realised this saga of apologies was never ending, they went back to their own businesses.

"I'm sorry." Jaewon groaned for the millionth time until Yeonjun finally grabbed her hands and looked straight into her eyes.

"It is alright but if you apologize one more time, I will kiss you." he smirked.

At once everyone was staring at them again, including Sofia, the word 'kiss' catching their attention so easily. Even a usually uninterested Taehyun looked up, half curious and half bored.

"F...Fine." Jaewon stuttered, blushing by the sudden attention and looking away from the boy, not saying 'I'm sorry!' anymore.

"Good." Yeonjun chuckled although he was lowkey disappointed he didn't have an excuse to kiss her anymore.

Sometimes, it was hard to resist her perfect, red lips.

"Can we go to class now? You guys are boring." Huening Kai suddenly whined, annoyed by the silence that had taken over the table.

Sofia stood up, already agreeing with the maknae and getting ready to leave. Once she had packed her food and everyone else was ready to go, they all made their way to their next classes, Jaewon to music.

Music was probably Jaewon's favorite subject despite not letting it into her life until only recently. To her, every thing in school sucked...except the music department. The school actually had a decent music section for the kids interested.

When TXT and Sofia dropped Jaewon at her class and left to her own, the girl glanced at Beomgyu who was staring at her before quickly looking away and heading to her own seat.

Beomgyu kept his eyes on Jaewon for a bit, heart throbbing in pain when she ignored him, but soon he looked away, Jisoo's catching his attention through whatever she was yelling.

Soon, everyone was invested in the class, paying attention to nothing but music.

❅ ❅ ❅

Jaewon's finger grazed across her phone and clicked play, without her permission. Slowly, familiar music started playing into her earphones and before she could turn it off, she felt herself freeze. She looked down, eyes catching sight of her phone and she realised, quite with a shock, that it was her own song playing.

The song she had written for Beomgyu.

Jaewon gulped, eyes fluttering shut and heart speeding up as she listened to the emotional lyrics she herself had written multiple months ago.

Why was this recording even on her phone?

Suddenly, Jaewon felt the music come to an abrupt stop and looked up startled, soon angry when she saw Jisoo holding her phone and Beomgyu standing behind her, looking a little afraid.

The bruises Jaewon had placed on Beomgyu was still there on his face, just slightly faded out and only sporting a light red color, almost blending into his skin. But, everyone could still see the scars and everyone could still remember how Jaewon had beaten up Beomgyu a while ago.

"Give it." the girl said, voice cold and firm.

A small flash of fear crossed the bully's eyes before she stuck out her tongue and shook her hand, holding the phone farther away from Jaewon's outstretched hand.

Jaewon rolled her eyes, pushing herself off her chair and standing in front of Jisoo in a menacing way. Beomgyu just watched the whole thing, not really sure what to do.

"Give it or else you're going to end up in the hospital." Jaewon threatened, hands forming a fist when Jisoo still didn't give it back.

Instead, the girl laughed and pulled out the headphones, much to Jaewon's horror as she remembered what was playing.  The whole classroom quieted down until the only thing you could hear was the sound produced from the phone.

Jaewon's sweet, soulful voice filled the air and many people widened their eyes, startled their cold queen could sing so well.

Beomgyu's eyes also widened having never heard Jaewon's voice despite how close they were. Jisoo frowned, surprised to hear Jaewon's voice play from the device before she finally heard the lyrics.

'My heart, my heart hurts without you'

Jaewon's eyes closed, hand almost slamming into her desk as the song continued to play.

"Give it back Jisoo." her voice was tight.

She didn't like what was happening.

'I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about you, but I think maybe it's joy.'

"Is this song about...Beomgyu?" Jisoo gasped.

Jaewon gritted her teeth as Beomgyu flinched. When Jisoo noticed the girl wasn't replying, a sly smile crossed her face, eyes shining with evil.

Without another word, she grabbed Beomgyu's hand and dragged him out of the classroom, almost running.

Jaewon fell backwards, startled, before she immediately ran after them, a few students following out of curiosity.

Everyone was abandoning music class.

It didn't matter though since the teacher hadn't actually shown up today.

"Jisoo give me my phone!" Jaewon yelled, running past her old math classroom and nearly crashing into Taehyun.

The boy who had simply been reading a book, gasped and stepped away, turning his head to see Jaewon running after Beomgyu and Jisoo, anger and fear clear in her eyes. Any other moment, he would have been annoyed. But, Jaewon's eyes held an emotion Taehyun had never seen her show.

Jaewon was scared.

and that is why he immediately put away his book and ran to find the rest of TXT.

Jisoo, still dragging Beomgyu who made no effort to pull away, headed straight into the principal's office and slammed the door shut, locking it just as Jaewon crashed into it, producing a loud 'bang!'.

"What the fuc...JISOO OPEN THE DOOR!" Jaewon slammed her hands into it.

When she heard no sound on the other side though, she took a step back, looking around to see if Beomgyu and Jisoo had somehow come out through an exit she didn't know about. The only thing she saw was the few students from music class who had followed them and were now just crowding around her.

Suddenly, the school's speaker started playing something and everyone looked up in shock, just as the TXT members entered the hallway and started heading for Jaewon who was frozen.

'When I'm alone, I think of you.'

'When it hurts, you're on my mind.'

'Someone tell me, what this feeling is?'

'I need to know.'

'Is it love?'

Jaewon felt a tear go down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away, not knowing why she was crying in the first place. Soon, she found herself pounding against the door, screaming at Jisoo to stop playing the song and to return her phone.

More and more students started crowding around the shaking girl, wondering why no teachers or the principal was around. Finally, Yeonjun caught sight of Jaewon and he at once was by her side, concern filling him when he noticed the expression on Jaewon's face.

Soobin and Sofia stood beside each other, eyes wide and in shock while Huening Kai stood beside them, listening attentively to the lyrics and wondering why Jaewon had sung a song like this. Taehyun, who had called the members, sucked in a breath at the sight of his friend looking like she was about to go crazy and couldn't help but look around, trying to see if any of the popular kids were around so that they could get Jisoo or at least Beomgyu.

As for Beomgyu, he stood still inside the principal's office, staring at Jaewon's phone playing the song she had written for him as Jisoo laughed, satisfied and proud of herself for being able to play it on the speaker.

The whole school could hear Jaewon practically confessing her her love for Beomgyu.

Of course, no one could deny the voice was amazing and a few started recording, wanting to save her voice for whatever reason.

Jaewon was going to break the door, on the other hand.

She banged against it and everyone flinched.

'I wanna know, why are you on my mind?'

'Why won't you leave me alone?'

'Why do I feel like this...when it comes to you?'

'Oh my god, is this really love?'

Yeonjun watched her though he made no effort to move forward and pull her away. His ears were listening to the lyrics and Jaewon's voice and upon hearing how she felt towards Beomgyu, he slowly felt his heart crack.

Maybe Jaewon had rejected him because she still liked Beomgyu. Maybe Yeonjun was wrong, maybe Jaewon never liked him back.

A single tear slid down the blue hair weirdo's cheek before he wiped it away.

But what he felt, was nothing compared to how Jaewon felt.

She was embarrassed, afraid, angry, upset, so many emotions and all of them towards....herself.

She had written this song, she had felt all of this towards Beomgyu, the boy who wasn't even doing anything to help her.

How could Jaewon have ended up like this?

She had never interfered with other people, she had never given two shits about anyone.

but for Beomgyu, she did.

She stopped those bullies from hurting him the first time they had met. She let herself smile and be happy with Beomgyu when they hung out. Se let herself fall for him everytime he smiled.

Jaewon had let Beomgyu into her broken heart.

and the result?

The girl fell, collapsing on her knees.

Why? Why was this happening to her? Hadn't life already given her enough pain? Why was she being humiliated like this?

Tears streamed down her face, her body wouldn't stop shaking, and soon her voice was weak from all the yelling she had invested herself into in an attempt to force Jisoo to return her phone.

"Jisoo...please..." she found herself whispering.

Without warning, Jaewon's eyes looked around and she caught sight of Yeonjun standing a few feet ahead of her, shock clear on his face. Not wanting to look at the pain he was showing, she looked away and this time, she noticed an axe resting on top of the wall, inside a red box in case for fire emergency.

She didn't think, she just did.

Jaewon forced herself to stand up and before she knew it, she had walked towards the wall and she punched through the glass, causing screams and shattering sounds to fill the air.

Yeonjun finally ran towards her, pushing away his feelings before grabbing her hand to stop her from pulling out the axe.

but, when he noticed her now bloody knuckled, he felt his grip loosen.

Jaewon looked up at him, straight into his dark brown eyes, before pulling away and walking back towards the principal's door.

A few students gasped and some ran away, realising they didn't want to be seen here as they figured out what Jaewon was about to do.

With a huge woosh, Jaewon swung the axe straight towards the door.

It never hit it.

In shock, she turned her head to see Yeonjun who had appeared by her side and grabbed the axe last minute, preventing her from breaking the school property.

"I...I need to stop it." Jaewon muttered, eyes widening as more tears flew down her cheeks.

Yeonjun bit his lip but still pulled the axe away from her weak grip before dropping it. The axe produced a loud sound and silence filled the air as everyone realised the music had finally stopped playing.

The song was over.

"Do you trust me?"

Jaewon looked up.

"Do you trust me?" Yeonjun repeated.

She nodded without hesitation.

That was all Yeonjun needed.

Without a warning, he pulled Jaewon behind him before raising his leg and kicking the door with full force.

Sofia and the other TXT members gasped, still not used to Yeonjun's violent side. They found themselves scrambling back when Yeonjun kicked the door again and it fell down, causing Jisoo inside the room to scream and Beomgyu to let out a strange sound.

Not saying a word, Yeonjun walked into the room, grabbed Beomgyu by his collar, and punched him straight in the face.

The boy fell down in shock before looking up, hands tightly clutching the place he had been hit.

"W...Why are you hitting me? I didn't do anything!" Beomgyu stuttered, trying to sound fierce.

Yeonjun grabbed him by the collar again and pulled him up, glaring at Beomgyu with so much fire, even Jaewon who was standing beside him, was surprised.

"Exactly." Yeonjun sneered, "You didn't do anything."

Jaewon's eyes narrowed before she caught sight of Jisoo trying to leave. Anger filled her and before she knew it, she had grabbed Jisoo by her hair and was slapping her in the face.

"S...STOP!" Jisoo cried, cheeks turning red as her eyes teared up at the pain.

Jaewon threw Jisoo down before crouching in front of the girl and glaring at her, hard.

"If I see you one more time..." her voice trailed of but Jisoo didn't need anymore.

She frantically nodded and ran straight out of the classroom, abandoning Beomgyu and rushing past the principal who was in shock at the scene around him.

He had literally left for an hour to eat and had returned to find this mess.

"Y...Yeonjun!" Jaewon found herself gasping when Yeonjun punched Beomgyu again.

Yeonjun didn't even look up at her voice and instead continued to punch Beomgyu, pouring out all of his anger on the poor boy who started coughing out blood as the bruises Jaewon had made a while ago became purple again.

Jaewon was beyond shocked.

She had no idea why Yeonjun was so angry and she couldn't possibly guess why his eyes were practically shooting fire at the boy who had done nothing.

but that wasn't true, was it?

Beomgyu had done something.

He had allowed Jisoo to play the music. He had allowed the song to burst through the speakers for the whole school to hear.

Beomgyu hadn't helped Jaewon.

and that's why Yeonjun was so angry.

and the fact that he thought Jaewon still liked the idiot.

"Yeonjun that's enough!" Jaewon finally yelled, grabbing Yeonjun's arm and shoving him off of Beomgyu.

The younger male immediately gasped, releasing a large breath of air before turning around and clutching his chest tightly since he felt like he was being choked.

Unable to help herself, Jaewon fell down beside Beomgyu and she quickly checked to make sure he was okay, not knowing what to feel when she noticed his bloody face. Again.

Yeonjun, who had been pushed to the side by Jaewon, watched this happen with a scoff before he stood up and brushed himself of.

"I can't believe you." he muttered but Jaewon heard it.

"What's that supposed to mean?" the girl found herself asking, standing up as well as her eyes narrowed.

Yeonjun's voice was disbelieving and sarcastic, a small, almost unnoticeable hint of hurt in it.

It was foreign to Jaewon.

"It's always gonna be him, isn't it?"

This time even Beomgyu looked up, wiping away some blood from his face and releasing a quiet cough, not really knowing what was happening.

All he knew was that he had let whatever had just happened, happen.

"What are you taking about?" Jaewon snapped, glaring at the blue hair weirdo who rolled his eyes in response.

"He's a fucking jerk yet you clearly can't move on, can you?" Yeonjun spat.

Honestly, he didn't want to be saying any of this.

The hurt and angry expression on Jaewon's face was enough for him to feel like his world was falling apart.

Yet he couldn't help it. He just had to get it out of his head

"Yeonjun that's-"

"No. I don't want to hear anything. Have fun with that loser."

Not letting Jaewon say another word, Yeonjun turned around and left, leaving everyone who was watching in shock since they all knew how much Yeonjun actually liked her.

Jaewon was in even more shock though.

She had no idea what just happened.

Her song had been exposed to the whole school, Beomgyu knew how much she cared about him now, and Yeonjun had left foaming she kept picking Beomgyu?

what

"J...Jaewon, i'm sorry."

Jaewon's head snapped to the side at the sound of her name and her eyes narrowed upon noticing Beomgyu stuttering with wide, scared eyes.

"I'm sick of your apologies." she spat in pure anger, standing up and brushing herself. "Find something better to do."

With those words said, Jaewon left the room, Beomgyu laying on the ground bleeding as the principal ran in, way too late.
