XXI. Trust

Love a magical feeling, anyone can get lost in that feeling and a first love in that, a truly magical feeling. Avni felt it and was enjoying swimming in that feeling, she was experiencing new emotions which were overwhelming. A single person clouded all her thoughts, she was always thinking of him and eagerly waiting for him. Five days since the night, she lost her virginity to him and he was her only thought.

She was going to office and she was learning everything about company, the board members appreciated her presentations on new products. She is improving. Avni was spending her nights in Abhi's bed and was enjoying it. She spend her free time with Diya and they both team together and pull pranks on Abhi. But there was a feeling at the bottom of her heart which still lingered after that phone call. She still remembered her words.

"Seema", Avni was shocked listening to the person who birthed Diya, my sweet angel. Then all she was feeling was anger towards Seema for trying to kill Diya in her womb and for cheating on Abhi.

"Why the heck are you calling me?" Avni spat venomously into the phone only to receive a chuckle.

"Oh, so the princess truly have fangs! Ah, I would love to pull those fangs out for you." She said haughtily. Avni felt herself shiver from the malice in her tone.

"I am in no mood for chit-chat, tell me the reason why you called," Avni said not in mood to listen to the vile woman. She checked the room, surveying that if Abhi woke.

"Tch, Why should I not call you? After all you are going to be step mother for my daughter. I am just taking precautions and introducing myself to you before others can damage my reputation in front of you."

"Your reputation! Like hell I care about it, all I want is for my daughter Diya to be happy." Avni was boiling with rage after listening to her speak about Diya. But kept her voice low.

"Oh, you are not shouting. It means you have company. Wow, I must admire you, just ten days and you bedded with the beast. He was a beast in bed right. Always taking control." Avni kept quite not wanting to listen or speak to her about anything, she ignored the pang she felt in her heart.

"Silence now. I will just tell you the reason why I called you. You think you can take my daughter from me and become a mother, I will never allow that happen. I carried her in my womb and I have all the rights over her and you can't know the feeling as you can't bear any child of your own." Avni's breath hitched at that but Seema went on, "I am going to get my child and Abhi back and you can't do a thing about it. Abhi may tell he loves you but he only loved me. So enjoy that relation while it lasts." And the call was cut leaving Avni shocked.

Avni was feeling conflicted with different emotions, but decided to sleep and tell to Abhi everything about it the next morning. Avni climbed into the bed and Abhi instantly hugged her pulling her towards him and uttered the words, which broke her heart.

"I love you, Seema."

Avni felt the crack in her heart, but she never told Abhi about it. She understood that she can't take Seema's place in his life, she wanted to make her own place. She did not tell him a word about the call and he did not suspect a thing.

"Avni, look at this?" Avni came out of her thoughts and looked at Akky who was holding a dress. They were doing some wedding shopping, as they will be leaving tomorrow for the wedding venue, which was a secret kept from her. Avni was not excited in knowing it with so many problems and even learning about a company.

"Nah, it is too bright. Something lighter," Avni replied and they shopped all the evening for the necessities.

Abhi was working in his study when Avni came home tired of work and shopping, and found him in his study working. She stepped into his room and his gaze shifted to her and smiled at her. He signaled her to give her a minute and Avni nodded and started observing the office. His home office was different from the office in the main one. It has some feminine taste in it compared to that one.

This office walls were colored in royal blue colour with an oak table placed in the middle of the room. A landscape painting behind the desk. Some small plants scattered here and there, it has a warm feeling in it. Avni felt hands on her waist and leaned into his body.

"What are you thinking?" Abhi asked, he stood behind her keeping her close. This gesture became a normal for them.

"I am just thinking that these colours are different from the one in your office. It has some warm and comfortable feeling in it." Avni asked him.

"Oh that, Seema was an interior designer. She designed this house when we stayed together and this office was also designed by her, it is the reason that this house has a feminine touch in it." Avni stiffened at that information but Abhi did not notice it and was distracted kissing my neck. Avni did not feel that kisses, she felt the touch as something new. She was thinking of the information Abhi gave, if Seema has designed this house, how can he be comfortable living here with her memories? Avni got her answer, Abhi just felt betrayed because of her but he wanted to keep her in his memories and he loved Seema not Avni. Avni was feeling her walls closing on her and she was have trouble in breathing.

Abhi was ignorant to all this. "Why don't we go on a date today," he whispered and was now biting the sensitive part near her neck. Avni felt her breathe hitch in her throat and she rushed out of room mumbling that she need to take a shower.

Avni rushed to the bathroom and locked the door behind her and leaned against the door, she could feel her hands trembling and her legs shaking, she sat down and pulled her knees together and kept her head over them. Her breathing became easy. The quietness was filled with the knocking sound and Abhi's voice was heard, "Avni, are you okay ? Open the door and let me in." Avni controlled the tears threatening to fall down and willed her voice to be stronger.

"I am fine. I want to take a warm shower, Akky shopped for a long time and I am exhausted know." Avni forced a small chuckle which felt dead to her ears.

"Ok, I will be in the office if you need anything." Abhi said and left her. Avni cried silently for many reasons, her broken heart, her belief and finally her fate. She thought that Abhi hated Seema and can not tolerate her presence, but know everything looked different. The house where she spent the past five days was designed by his previous lover. The bed, where she had many memories with Abhi and Diya was where he made love to her. She felt disgusted and rushed to take a shower, in the shower she cried and let the water mix with her tears.

Avni came out of the shower feeling emotionally exhausted. She did not want to stay in this house even for a second, she dressed and came out to the living room only to find Abhi and Diya playing some puzzles. Diya saw and came towards me running.

"Momma," Avni picked her and hugged her taking her smell in, this was the reason for her marriage Avni reminded herself, she did not agree for this marriage hoping for love. Even though she may lose Abhi if Seema comes into his life again but she will never lose.

"I am going to Akky bua's(aunt) house, will you come princess?" Avni asked Diya ignoring a specific person looking at her. Diya nodded eagerly.

"Go and pack your pajama's and the story book." As the words left her mouth, Diya ran to her room earning a chuckle from the adults. Abhi looked at Avni waiting for an explanation but Avni was looking in the opposite direction.

"Angel, are you going to Goenka's mansion? You did not tell me about your plans earlier," Abhi asked in a gentle tone, which Avni found as demanding. Avni looked in his direction but kept her eyes at his jaw.

"Akky said that we need to have a night to ourselves, as I will be marrying you. It is for our girls, so I am taking Diya with me." Avni replied before Abhi can offer to join them. Abhi nodded his head, Avni did not plan on spending the night away from him, but now she needs the distance between them.

Avni and Diya reached the Goenka's mansion where all the Goenka's were present excluding Abhi. Anu was also staying here with Kalyani dadi both helping Akky in marriage preparations. Avni felt a pang in her heart remembering about her marriage.

Avni smiled in front of everyone as if everything was normal and bared other's teasing, she pretended to be enjoying and played and fussed over Diya, who was a great distraction for her. When everyone retired to their rooms, Avni made Diya sleep in the guest room and joined Akky in the balcony from where Diya's figure can be seen.

"Now tell me, what happened? Akky fired the question before Avni can cross the threshold. Avni slid the glass door and stood near the railing staring at the starless sky and the moon. It reminded her of the first date she had with Abhi. Her shoulders trembled in silent sobs, when Akky pulled Avni into her embrace and let her cry. Akky murmured soothing words to the weeping woman, Akky is a year elder than Avni but Avni looked after Akky as an elder sister and helped her with her stuttering. Akky will stand against any huge force for her sister.

When Avni cries subsided, Akky dared to ask the question. "Is this because of my brother?" Avni just stared at the sky and let out a dark chuckle which made Akky afraid about the younger one.

"Oh, your brother has nothing to do with it. It is all me, I believed in him and kept stupid expectations on him. He just let me down." Avni explained every single thing thing from their first date.

"What did I do to desrve this? He could have told me that he did not move on, then I would have given him some time and we could have build our relation slowly. Why give me false hopes? And Seema spoke to me in such confidence that made me doubt that Abhi does really love me?" Akky punched the girl in her shoulders, Akky ignored the cry and started lecturing Avni.

"You foolish girl, you do not know how my brother sees you. Even though he may still not love you but he do not have feelings towards Seema, remember this. He always have a look of content in his eyes when he is near you but it was not there when he was near Seema," Avni started thinking about the things Akky said but Akky continues," And always remember that Seema is a manipulative bitch. If she tries to steal Abhi, show her who she is messing with." Avni listened and understood every point Akky told.

"But why is he still staying in that house? They stayed their together?" Akky laughed seeing the disgust look on Avni's face. Akky felt like her life came back after seeing some colour in Avni's pale face.

"Let me see, there may be many reasons for that. You know how difficult it is to see how bhai's brain works. One reason maybe he wanted Diya to have something of her mother, or he would have wanted to be there because he wanted to remember her betrayal or he could have thought that it was useless to leave that house simply for her." Avni did not look satisfied of that answer, Akky just smiled at her.

"That answer can be given by him only, don't let anyone break your relation with him Avni. you are stronger together," Akky said and turned to leave. Avni just stared at the sky again with many thoughts when she heard the voice.

"Angel."

Your update, sorry for the delay. As mentioned in the message box, my freaking phone died and now I need to buy a new one. So, I was busy searching for new ones and could not write a long chapter, I did not review it also so please ignore the mistakes.

This chapter, I struggled to write this one, as my brain was spamming with the ideas. So, how is the chapter? Do you think that Avni is correct in judging Abhi?
