After Callan told him not to act recklessly, James did not contact anyone else. After he returned home,

he simply rested.

Thea held James in her embrace and asked softly, “Darling, when are we going to Malgudi?”

James said, “We’ll wait for news from the Mount Thunder Sect. Once I discuss matters with Callan

tomorrow, I’ll head over to the Mount Thunder Sect and meet up with Jackson Cabral.”

Thea said with consternation, “I feel like something’s amiss.”

James asked, “Why? What’s wrong?”

The Celestial Sect was the one who found out about this. However, Thea was worried about the

manner in which they investigated. This was information obtained by disciples of the Celestial Sect who

successfully infiltrated the Gu Sect. This matter should be one of the Gu Sect’s top secrets, which only

high-ranking members would know. However, the Celestial Sect managed to get its hands on the

information without great difficulty. Their objective could be to lure James and the ancient martial artists

there to annihilate them all at once.

Thea was lost in contemplation. Naturally, she could not divulge how she managed to learn of this.

“I don’t know either… It’s just my instinct.”

Smiling, James said, “Relax, everything will be fine. Almost the entire martial world will be joining us.

Even if the entire nation of Malgudi is a trap, we will simply break through it.”

Even so, Thea was still worried.

trap.” “Even if it’s a trap, I can’t just sit idly by and watch the martial artists get controlled by Gu venom.”

As Thea had mentioned this last night, James had a slight feeling that it would be a trap. However, he

had no choice but to go. Otherwise, the martial artists would be controlled by Gu venom. If that came to

pass, not only would their strength be boosted, but they would no longer fear death or pain. By then, it

would be too late.

After long contemplation, Callan sighed, “Even though we know this is a trap, we don’t have a choice.

Lucjan has lost his conscience for power.”

James looked at Callan and asked, “So what’s your opinion on the matter?”

After some thought, Callan said, “How about this? You will meet up with Jackson Cabral and the other

martial artists at the Mount Thunder Sect and head out to Malgudi. I, on the other hand, will follow

along secretly. That way, I can bring in reinforcements if it really is a trap. Saving the abducted martial

artists is no longer important. What’s important is to preserve the lives of those who will be participating

in the expedition. If they die, the ancient martial world is over.”

“That sounds like a good plan.”

James was at ease upon hearing that Callan would follow along in secret. After all, he was once the

most powerful individual.
