Chapter 2095
The Almighty Dragon General
The custodian brought bad news: The First Calamity would soon descend on Earth and cause great
destruction to humans. Billions would perish.
James was at a loss. He had no idea what Earth would become after the First Calamity.
Then, he headed to the Callahansâ residence.
Before he even entered the house, he could hear the sound of people happily chattering away. They
were having lunch.
He rang the doorbell.
Soon, someone answered the door.
It was Tommy.
Upon seeing James, he froze before collecting himself. âY-Youâre back, James. Please come in.â
âGrandpa, Thea, James is back.â Tommyâs voice boomed.
Everyone stood up.
Upon entering the house, a young girl ran toward James and hugged his leg, cheering merrily, âDaddy,
youâre back!â
It was Winnie.
Now seven years of age, she had grown taller.
Although James seldom returned home, Winnie knew what her father looked like.
Thea walked over to him and said with a smile, âYouâre back.â
âMhm.â James nodded.
Putting his thoughts aside, he entered the villa.
Lex immediately ordered his servants to grab some extra cutleries.
James had lunch at the Callahansâ residence.
After lunch, James sat on a chair in the courtyard with a sullen look on his face.
Thea grabbed his hand and asked, âWhatâs wrong? Youâve been like this ever since you returned.â
James told her about the First Calamity.
âThe custodian told me that the First Calamity is upon us. A third of humanity will perish. Not only that,
but she also said that a great providence would soon appear on Earth, and she wants us to seize the
providence by any means necessary.â
Hearing this, Thea immediately stood up and exclaimed, âAre you serious?â
âYes.â
James nodded and said, âOnce the First Calamity appears, it would mean the end of the world. Though
I knew this day would come eventually, I didnât expect it to be this soon.â
James was filled with consternation. Though he had made preparations for the apocalypse, he was
nonetheless at a loss as the day loomed closer.
Thea collected herself after the initial shock and grabbed Jamesâ hand, saying with determination, âNo
matter what happens in the future, Iâll be by your side. Iâll face all adversities with you.â
Upon hearing this, James tried to hold back his tears. Now, Thea and Winnie were the only ones
supporting him.
He sighed. âI really hope that peace can return to Earth. That way, Iâll get to live a simple life with you.
However, that day may never come now. Only a bleak future awaits us, and we might even lose our
lives.â
Thea hurriedly said, âThat wonât happen.â
âMommy, Daddyâ¦â
Winnie ran toward them.
âI want to go to the amusement park.â
Putting his thoughts aside, James looked at Winnie and patted her head, saying with a smile, Sure
thing. Iâll take you to the amusement park.â
Over the next few days, James remained in Cansington and accompanied his family.
On a night two weeks laterâ¦.
James was sitting on the balcony of the villa, smoking his cigarettes as he watched the pitch- black sky.
Tonightâs darkness was rather unusual.
Boom!
A flash of silver lightning illuminated the pitch-black sky, and a deafening thunder reverberated
throughout the sky.
At that moment, Thea walked over to James in her pajamas. âDarling, itâs getting late. We should
sleep.â
She spoke in a melodious voice.
