Chapter 223
The Almighty Dragon General
Yosef was trying to frame her. âGrandpa, Iâm innocent.â
âEnough.â
Lex chided, âThea, no more of this in the future. Give up your position as the chairman for now. Howard
will be the new chairman, while youâll be the vice chairman. Learn from him in the meantime.â
Lex turned to leave.
Although Thea had made a grave mistake, she was competent. Besides, she had connections. As they
had worked hard to bring her back, Lex did not chase her out of the family. Instead, he demoted her.
Howard shook his head and sighed. âThea, youâre still young and have a long way to go. I hope youâve
learned your lesson.â
âI-Iâm innocent!â
Thea cried out.

âYosef, tell grandpa it wasnât me. Itâs not me. Why are you framing me? Why?â Howard helped Yosef up
and said, âYosef, this isnât entirely your fault. We can only blame those who mess around thinking they
have the authority to do so. Youâre sixty years old. You should retire.â
âT-Thank you, Mr. Howard.â
Yosef apologized profusely. Then, he turned to leave. âSigh.â
âI thought Thea would devote herself wholeheartedly to the company. I didnât expect her to do such a
thing to satisfy her selfish desires.â âThankfully, nothing serious happened. Otherwise, Eternality would
be in ruins.â âCan she be forgiven?â âShe should be fired. Why let her stay?â The high-ranking officials
of Eternality sighed. Upon hearing this, Thea, aggrieved, wept. Why?
She had devoted herself to the company. She had been busy working for the company for the past few
days. Why frame her?
She cried her eyes out and ran out of the company.
Al the Callahans, James had just woken up and was sweeping the kitchen floor.
Wearing an apron, he hummed a song.
At that moment, he heard someone crying in the living room. He headed in its direction and saw Thea
who had returned from the company. She was sitting on the sofa, bawling.
âWhatâs wrong, Thea?â Gladys asked in a concerned tone. Benjamin had not gone to the company in a
long time. Ever since Thea became the chairman, he had been staying at home after resigning from his
position. He asked, âWhatâs wrong, Thea?â âDad, mom, I didnât do this. Why did they frame me?â Thea
cried. James put the broom down and asked with concern, âWhatâs wrong, Thea?â
Thea narrated the events at the company.
âIâm innocent. I didnât threaten Yosef. I donât know why he insisted it was me. I have nothing to do with
the substandard medicine.â David snarled, âVile. Despicable. Iâll go find grandpa and reason with him.â
He got up to leave. âWhat are you doing?â James rebuked him. âCanât you see the mess weâre in now?
Do you think heâll believe what you say?â âBut⦠What should we do? Do we just sit back and watch
Thea be wronged and blamed for this incident?â
James lit a cigarette and took a deep breath. âWhy donât we leave Eternality Group and establish our
own business? With Theaâs connections, the business should expand quickly.â
âNo way.â Gladys retorted, âIsnât this exactly what they wanted? We have to hang in there.â
Benjamin asked, âWhat should we do now? Howard and his family conspired to frame Thea. Now that
Yosefâs insisting it was Thea who was behind this, thereâs nothing we can do.â
