Chapter 2758

Yorick waited one whole day for James and did not want to wait any longer. Just as he was about to

leave, Thea showed up and challenged him.

In actuality, James was indeed rushing over but ran into someone along the way.

If it were not for this person, he would have already appeared for the fight.

After James left Mount Tai, he headed straight for Mount Bane.

However, he was stopped by a woman shortly after beginning his journey.

The woman had long black hair and hovered in the air in a willowy white dress. Her back was turned to

James, so he could not see her appearance.

“Who are you?”

James looked at the woman blocking his path, and his brows furrowed.

The woman slowly turned around and revealed herself to him.

“y-You are...?!”

James was shocked upon seeing the woman.

“M- Maxine? Why are you here? Where have you been all these years?”

The woman was none other than Maxine who had disappeared many years ago.

Maxine floated in the air and gave James a look of longing. Tears welled up in her eyes and streamed

down her face.

She could still remember everything that happened in the past even after so many years.

In her quest to marry James, she captured Winnie and forced him to take her as his wife. Her actions

led to James’ death all those years ago.

“D-Do you still hate me for what I did?”

Maxine voice shook as she spoke.

James shook his head gently and said, “It’s already been so many years since it happened. I’ve put

those things behind me. Where have you been all these years? Why haven’t I heard from you all this

while?”

Maxine approached James and stood a few meters away from him.

“It’s a very long story.”

Maxine recalled everything that had happened in the past few years.

After awhile, she explained, “A few years after you died in Floret Palace, there was a post seemingly

made by you on the Martial Arts Forum. Back then, I was still in Cansington when I saw the post. To

find out if it was really you, I headed to Mount Bane.

“However, I was captured when I reached Mount Bane and was taken to the Demon Realm.”

James listened attentively.

Maxine continued to tell her story, “It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After I was brought to the

Demon Realm, I received great guidance and cultivated a remarkable Demonic Body. After that, my

teacher and I traveled the vast universe to find me an extraordinary Yogacara. I only just recently

returned to Earth.”

Maxine briefly described her experiences over the years.

James took a deep breath after hearing Maxine’s words.

He never expected Maxine to have gone through so much.

“Who kidnapped you to the Demon Realm?” asked James.

Maxine said, “It was your good friend, Marcello, who is also the Azurean Clan’s young mistress.”

“Marcello?” James gaped in shock.

Maxine shook her head slightly and said, “I don’t blame her. As I said, it was a blessing. If she didn’t

bring me to the Demon Realm, I wouldn't be where I am today.

“By the way, my teacher would like to see you.”

“Your teacher?” He said incredulously.

“Follow me.”

“But...” James hesitated and said, “I can’t come with you now. I agreed to a duel with Yorick today.”

Maxine said, “My teacher said you’re no match for Yorick currently. If you blindly rush into battle now,

you're going to die.”

“That's not guaranteed.”

James was confident in himself after learning Curse Magic. In his eyes, he stood a 50 percent chance

against Yorick.

Maxine urged him, “Come see my teacher. It won’t take too long.”
