Chapter 3899

The beast did not dodge James’ attacks but rather met them head-on. The beast was unscathed. In

turn, James was knocked back by a powerful force, and his arm went limp.

“This can’t be happening!”

James cursed.

He hurriedly dodged and flew straight ahead, hoping to lure the beast toward him. Meanwhile, the other

Lords used this opportunity to escape.

The beast charged toward James once more. On this ancient and mysterious battlefield, James kept

fleeing, while the beast gave chase relentlessly. The beast was huge, and everywhere it passed

through was destroyed. Even the void was full of cracks and fissures.

‘What should I do?’

James panicked.

He could not shake the beast off, nor could he bring the beast out of the Ecclesiastical Restricted Zone.

After all, the outside world would be completely destroyed if exposed to such a ferocious beast.

‘This beast seems to not have any consciousness and only knows how to kill.’

James analyzed.

The beast possessed incredibly powerful evil energy and seemed to be under the influence of a certain

power. Perhaps it was contaminated by a bizarre power, which corroded its consciousness and caused

it to go berserk.

Swoosh!

The beast opened its mouth, and a shapeless force materialized from it, charging toward James.

Struck by the force, James felt like he was a tiny raft in the vast ocean, powerless and vulnerable. He

summoned his full force and stabilized himself before accelerating to dodge the shapeless force. After

running for some time, he finally escaped the ancient battlefield.

Along the way while escaping, he did not pay any attention to his surroundings. Upon leaving the

battlefield, he arrived at an unknown region. Before him was a city levitating in the sky. Without any

hesitation, he entered the city. Seemingly afraid of the city in the sky, the beast stopped in its tracks

and retreated.

Seeing this, James breathed a sigh of relief. Then, he turned around and looked at the city behind him.

The city was as vast as a galaxy in the outside world. He gazed curiously at the city, murmuring

puzzledly, “What is this place? Why did the beast stop chasing me? Could there be a power here that

even the beast is afraid of?”

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, a bird flew past him. The bird was the size of a pigeon. Its feathers

were red and seemingly bizarre-looking. James stared at the bird, then froze.

“Why does the bird look exactly like a Gorger in its infancy?”

James was puzzled.

Upon seeing the bird, he was reminded of Feb the Gorger. After chirping for some time, the bird flew

away and disappeared from James’ view. Even though James was powerful, he could not sense the

bird’s presence.

Puzzledly, he stroke his chin and murmured, “How bizarre…”

He turned around and looked at the city behind him.

Then, he had the fright of his life. There were countless illusory shadows in the city, with each of them

exuding an overwhelming aura. Some of them were not beneath the beast that was chasing him a

moment ago. Brandishing their fangs and claws, they charged toward James ferociously.

“Holy sh*t!”

James cried out and hurriedly ran for his life.
