Greater Realms. He could not even overpower a city under the jurisdiction of the Soul Race.

The powerhouses from the Soul Race attacked him together, and a fierce battle broke out outside of

the city, causing massive destruction to the surroundings.

While the battle raged on, James had snuck into the Hopeless City. Unfortunately, the city was still

heavily guarded inside. Thus, he moved carefully and found a place to lay low for the time being.

James found a manor that had been abandoned for a long time. The manor’s yard was relatively small

and only spanned a little over 1,000 square meters. The former owner of the place was a rogue

cultivator who had no sect or family. He lived in the Hopeless City but died at the hands of his enemies.

After his death, the Hopeless City repossessed the manor.

The Hopeless City was huge and was built between a few spiritual mountains. The city also had

several spiritual mountains within it, and the manor sat right between two mountains. Its location was

not very ideal, so nobody wanted it.

When James infiltrated the Hopeless City, he used a few rare materials to purchase the manor. James

looked at the city from his yard. The battle outside was tumultuous, and its intensity could be felt all the

way from the yard.

Bruce practically sacrificed his life force to acquire tremendous strength. Unfortunately, his opponents

were still too strong for him. Under the heavy onslaught, he was gradually pushed into a corner.

It did not take long for exhaustion to overtake him. Ultimately, he was captured by his enemies.

“What a foolhardy person.”

Seeing Bruce being dragged away, James shook his head disapprovingly. He would never have acted

so carelessly if he were in the same position. Bruce came to the Hopeless City and demanded his

comrades’ release. Not only did he fail to save them, but he endangered himself too.

“Now that idiot’s been captured, another person has been added to the list of people I need to rescue.

How annoying.”

James pinched the bridge of his nose. One fortunate thing from this outcome was that the soul-

detecting treasure at the city gate had been removed after Bruce was taken away.

It seemed that the Hopeless City had brought it out specifically to capture Bruce. They were afraid that

he would sneak into the city and carry out his revenge. Now that Bruce was captured, they saw no

reason to keep the treasure there.

After the soul-detecting treasure was taken away, Dahlia, who had been waiting outside the city, also

found an opportunity to sneak into the city. Then, she followed the trail James left behind to reunite with

him.

Inside a room in the manor, Dahlia grasped James’ hand and said pleadingly, “Please save Bruce. I’m

begging you, please.”

Dahlia had witnessed the battle from outside the city.

However, she did not dare to interfere. She would have been captured instantly if she were to show up.

She could only watch helplessly as Bruce was detained.

James said helplessly, “He charged in blindly on his own. How am I going to save him now that

everyone has been detained by the Soul Race? Are you expecting me to follow his footsteps and grab

a weapon to challenge them up front? I’d be dead before I reached their headquarters.”

Dahlia calmed down, looked at James tearily, and asked,” Then what should we do?”

James sat down and said, “We’ll have to gather as much information as we can for now. Contact your

spies and get as much information as possible about Bruce, Karglain, and the others’ whereabouts.”

“Alright! I’ll get in touch with them right away.” Dahlia nodded immediately.

James lightly waved his hand and said, “Okay. You better get going. I’ll be waiting here for some good

news.”

Dahlia quickly left without a moment’s delay.
