Chapter 502
The Almighty Dragon General
James reached home. Lex and everyone else had finally left. Thea, on the other hand, had changed
into a formâfitting dress. She had some light makeup on and even styled her hair. Her usual straight
hair was now in curls and waves.
She was wearing a v-neck white dress. A delicate chain hung from her neck.
It complemented the smooth column of her fair neck well. James could not look away. James looked at
Thea, unable to stop himself from asking, âAre you going out, darling?â Thea nodded.
âYes, Xara wants to buy me a meal. Since sheâs helped us so much, itâs only right to thank her in
person.â
James had not eaten yet, so he smiled and asked, âCan I come along?â
âWhy not?â Thea agreed.
âAlright then.â Since James got home, he had not even gotten a chance to sit down before he had to
leave again. Both of them left the house together. James drove, leaving their area.

âDarling, where are we going?â
Thea said, âJoy Hotel.â
âAlright.â James tapped to open his navigation app and searched for Joy Hotel before heading over.
Joy Hotel was well known in Cansington. Even though it could not compare to The Gourmand, the
prices at Joy were more affordable, which attracted a larger crowd in turn.
At the entrance of Joy Hotel.
A tall, lean woman was standing there.
She was about 170 to 180 centimeters tall, decked out in casualwear. With her black hair tied up in a
ponytail, she looked young.
She was Xara.
Xara looked left and right.
Soon, she spotted James and Thea. She jogged over to them and grabbed Theaâs hand. âThea!
James, youâre here too!â
James smiled, âI heard that there was a free meal to enjoy. You donât mind, do you?â
âOf course not. Iâm happy you could make it!â Xara smiled.
Linking arms with Thea, Xara guided them into the hotel. âCome on, Iâve reserved a table for us. Itâs
peak hour now, so there are no more rooms available. I booked a table in the hall instead.â
âIt doesnât matter.â James waved his hand.
The three of them entered the hotel. The waiter guided them to their table. Xara picked up the menu
and passed it to James. âWhat do you want to eat?â
He passed the menu to Thea instead, saying, âDarling, you pick.â Thea took it from him and ordered a
few dishes before passing the menu back to Xara. Xara was the head of a department at
Transgenerational. As her salary was generous, she ordered more dishes for them.
Thea looked grateful. âXara, thank you. If it werenât for you, we would be on the streets.â Xara knew
that this was coming. She smiled. âDonât mention it.â Sitting to the side, James did not say anything but
listened to their conversation. Soon, the dishes were served. As James was starving, he started
shoveling food into his mouth, not caring about what he looked like.
Halfway through the meal, a few young men dressed stylishly approached them. Xara recognized one
of them. It was her admirer, Francis. Francis had been hounding her for a while now.
He seemed to know that she was having her meal here. As soon as he entered the hotel, he made a
beeline for her.
Calling for his friends to make themselves comfortable at the table next to Xaraâs, he walked up to her.
Grinning widely, he said, âWhat a coincidence, Xara! Youâre here too.â Xara frowned, âWhy do I keep
running into you everywhere I go? Francis, did you get someone to tail me?â
âWhy would I do that?â Francis was defensive. âI swear I didnât. Itâs just a coincidence. Or maybe itâs
fate.â
âFrancis, whoâs this beauty? Why donât you introduce us?â A handsome man stood up, looking at Xara
He smiled and introduced himself.
âHello, beautiful. Iâm Sean Bertrand. My father is Charles Bertrand. Our family owns Abundant Group.â
