Chapter 680
The Almighty Dragon General
The woman left the tent. Jose looked at James, who was standing by the entrance, and beckoned,
âCome closer.â
James walked over to him.
âSo what do you know about the Black...â â Before he could finish his sentence, a cold muzzle was
pressed against his forehead. He froze. James grinned smugly at him. âIâm the Black Dragon.â âYou...â
Hearing this, a chill ran down Joseâs spine. He almost fell off his chair. Keeping the gun pressed
against Joseâs forehead, James sat opposite him. After taking a moment to process the situation, Jose
composed himself. His face darkened, he said coldly, âHow audacious of you, Black Dragon. Do you
know soldiers are just outside? All I have to do is to call for them and youâll be surrounded and shot to
death.â
Jamesâ eyes shone coldly. âYou can try. I donât know about being shot to death, but I know I can kill you
before that happens.â âWhâWhat do you want from me?ââ
Jose was frightened. He knew that James was fully capable of killing him before he could even call for
help. He had climbed to his position with great difficulty. He did not wish for all his effort to simply go to
waste.
James lowered his gun.
Looking at Jose, who was sweating profusely, he gave a threatening smile. âIâm here to give you
money.â
âHuh?â
Wiping the sweat off his forehead, Jose looked at James puzzledly. âGive me money?â
âYep.â
James nodded. âAs long as you do as I say, Iâll give you 1 billion dollars once everythingâs over. Youâll
get to enjoy riches beyond your wildest imagination. How does that sound?â
Jose scoffed. âBlack Dragon, do you Iâd betray my motherland so easily?â
âThatâs up to you, frankly.â James shrugged and said nonchalantly, âA billion dollars or death? Choose
one.â
Saying that, James stood up and pressed the gun against Joseâs forehead. He waited for his reply.
âOf course, thereâs a third option for you too. You can call for help and demand your men to kill me. Of
course, youâll die alongside me too. However, you get to be a national hero, and your family will most
probably receive a badge of honor or something.â âIâll give you a minute to think things through.â James
gave his ultimatum.
The one thing humans feared the most was death.
This was especially true for powerful and influential people. The higher oneâs position, the more afraid
of death one would be. Time passed Sweat beaded on Joseâs forehead. He was in a difficult position.
He knew what James was capable of. He could finish him off in an instant. He did not want to die just
yet. âHow can I trust you?â Jose looked James in the eye and said, âI know what you want. You want to
infiltrate Southern Plains City and assassinate the generals of the twentyâeight nations. Iâll be as good
as dead if I bring you there. No matter how much he give me, it wonât matter if Iâm a corpse. Besides,
none of this is in writing. How can I trust you?â James knew Joseâs resolve was slowly crumbling.
He lowered his gun and sat down.
âI can give you 100 million first. You just have to bring me into the military region of the city. I wonât get
you involved. After everythingâs over, Iâll give you the remaining money. If I die, you get nothing. Iâd
suggest you run in that case.â
James casually mentioned his plan.
Jose grabbed a glass of water from the table and drank it.
He was at a loss.
Was it worth it being a traitor for 1 billion dollars?
He would be dead if his higherâups heard of this.
However, he knew heâd die right here if he did not agree to this.
âFine. IâI promise you.â After thinking long and hard about this, Jose eventually agreed to the deal.
James smiled, âWise choice. Give me your bank account number. Iâll transfer the money to you.â
Jose gave James a secret bank account he opened overseas. âTransfer the money to this account.â
James pulled his phone out and called Scarlett, âScarlett, Iâm going to send you a bank account
number. Transfer a hundred million into it.â
