CHAPTER 10

Charlotte paced back and forth, anxiously waiting for a glimpse of Engfa who still did not appear. Almost 30 minutes passed but this woman still hadn't gotten out of her car. What is Engfa doing there ? she thought to herself.

She then turned her gaze towards Mew and Nudee who were chatting before her fiancee's phone suddenly rang. Mew asked for permission to answer the call. This opportunity was immediately taken by Charlotte, approaching Nudee.

" Hey Nudee, where is Engfa ? She hasn't gotten off the car since earlier, what happened ? "

Nudee who didn't know how to reply, just forced a smile before saying.

" Oh hmm..... actually Ms Faa has a headache, so she asked herself to rest for a while "

" Hmm why didn't you tell me ? we can just stop this meeting and postpone it to another day "

Nudee scratched her head and replied.

" Hmm sorry Ms C.A but Ms Faa asked me to continue this meeting "

Charlotte took a deep breath, couldn't accept that excuses.

" Can I go see her ? Please Nude, I need to talk to her "

Charlotte pleads makes Nudee doesn't know how to respond.

" But Ms C.A, actually Ms Faa doesn't want me to tell you. She doesn't want you and Mr Mew to worry about her "

" Don't worry Nudee, I just want to see how she is "

Because she didn't know how to resist Ms C.A, Nudee finally had to give in and let Charlotte go see how Engfa was doing.

" If Mew asks about me, please tell him that I meet Engfa for a moment, okay ? "

Nudee just nodded her head without hesitation.

" Okay Ms C.A "

Charlotte continued to run towards Engfa's car, her heart beating fast. She hoped Engfa was well and she knew Engfa was already suffering from a migraines especially when the woman couldn't handle the pressure. If the migraine gets worse, Engfa will definitely lose consciousness.

She arrived at the car and slowly opened the door, she quickly got in and sat next to her, her eyes looking at the woman. The strands of hair on Engfa's face were slowly pulled away, revealing her pale face. Charlotte noticed Engfa's hand still holding a bottle of migraine pills. Her heart ached, Engfa must be depressed because of Mew's presence here.

The half-conscious Engfa sensed that there was someone next to her but due to her vision being too blurry, it was difficult for her to guess. She could only think of Nudee in her mind, her secretary.

" Nude....... Is everything settled ? "

" Engfa, it's me, Charlotte "

Engfa, who was still half-conscious, noticed Charlotte sitting next to her, trying to get up but her headache made it difficult for her to get up.

" Charlotte...... what are you...."

" Hey Engfa, don't..... you should rest "

Before Engfa could finish her words, Charlotte stopped her. Her hand began to take the pill bottle from the woman's hand, before looking back at Engfa who was still lying withered.

" Your face looks so pale, why didn't you tell me you had a migraine "

" Hmm I'm okay, maybe the weather outside was so hot "

Engfa tried to lie but Charlotte could already guess the reason.

" Engfa, we should postpone this meeting, you have to go back and rest. With your condition like this, we really can't continue it "

Charlotte's heart suddenly was touched, it had been a long time since she heard her name was called like that from her ex-lover. The nickname "Char" that Engfa really likes when they were together.

" Don't worry, Nudee can handle it, I think the sooner the better "

" Hmm you still haven't changed Engfa, you're still the same as before, you're still stubborn, do you know that ? "

Engfa chuckled, not denying that she's really stubborn.

" Hmm Char.... You're the same, you're still the same as before, you never stop babbling even when I'm sick like this "

Charlotte laughed shyly.

" Charr, I... Hmm can I take a nap ? My head hurts so much, I want to sleep, I..."

Engfa was unable to speak or open her eyes but she felt her hand was held by that woman until she finally fell asleep.

Charlotte, who was still staring at Engfa, tried to keep her tears from flowing. If it wasn't for her stupid decision to get the CEO position first, Engfa might not have suffered like this. Her hands started moving to hold Engfa's face who was unconscious due to the effects of painkillers. Yes, to be honest she misses Engfa a lot, she still misses that woman, Engfa used to be a part of her but now Mew is the important person in her life. She couldn't go back to Engfa or leave Mew like she had done to Engfa before. Yes, she couldn't !
