CHAPTER 11

A week passed after the site visit, Charlotte felt that Engfa was trying to distance herself from her. Her messages were only answered briefly and those were only work-related. Everything related to her house was also managed by her secretary, Nudee. Charlotte once asked Nudee to tell Engfa to contact her but still her ex-lover kept silent and Engfa's actions have made Charlotte feel dissatisfied.

She stood outside her apartment balcony, the night air hitting her white skin making her feel cold. Her preoccupation with Engfa stopped when she heard the laughter of Heidi and Tina at the living room, watching a comedy movie. Her gaze shifted to Tina, she knew that Tina was one of the people who always dealt the most with War Properties Sdn Bhd.

" Hey Tina ? Can I ask you, hmm do you always deal with Engfa ? "

Charlotte asked curiously. Tina turned to her with a confused face. Heidi did the same.

" Hmm, do you mean Ms Faa, Char ? "

" Yes, she is "

Charlotte said as she was still waiting for Tina's answer.

" Hmm, I can say that I see her every week but it depends on the construction site. Why are you suddenly asking about her, Char ? "

" Oh, nothing, I just want to know since I have to deal with her a lot now so I need to know how she really is "

" Oh I see, but to be honest I really like Ms Faa's character "

Charlotte's eyes widened, surprised by Tina's confession and she quickly responded.

" What do you mean ?! "

A little of jealousy was evident causing Tina flinched slightly at her best friend's question, raising both of her eyebrows before answering.

" Lol why Char ? I just said I like her character, not that I admit I like her. What's wrong with you huh ? "

Tina laughed for a moment. Heidi, on her side was also confused by Charlotte's antics on the other end. She had never seen Charlotte so agitated.

Charlotte felt that she was overreacting, trying to act normal, she doesn't want her two best friends to know who Engfa really is in her life.

" Well, as far as I deal with her employees, I have never heard them talk bad about Ms Faa, all I have heard was the good things. Then since I have always dealt with Ms Faa, we have never had a disagreement, everything always smooth "

" She is also an easy-going person, talkative, very humble, she is a very good boss and what I like most about her, she is very professional while working but when the work is done, she treats her employees nicely and really gets along well with all her employees "

Tina explained the details and this made Charlotte unable to deny all of that about Engfa because Engfa's attitude was still the sama since their first meeting . She was grateful that Engfa still maintained that attitude within her.

" Wait Char, I think you should take me to see Ms Faa too, I'm curious to see what kind of person Ms Faa is, can you Char ? "

Heidi who was next to Tina initially didn't know about Engfa, eventually wanted to get to know the woman as well. The words she said made Charlotte frown.

" Hmm, why do I have to take you to see her, Heidi ? It has nothing to do with you "

" Hey, I'm your PA and your secretary so anything related to your house documents, Ms Faa must email me first, right ? "

Heidi grinned broadly, Tina next to her also laughed out loud when she saw Charlotte being bullied like that. Charlotte, who didn't know how to respond, finally had to give in.

" By the way Tina, Ms Faa must be a beautiful woman right, so she must already have a partner, right Tina ? "

Tina gently slapped Heidi's arm who suddenly wanted to know Engfa's personal life. Charlotte who was initially at the balcony, stepped in and sat in front of Tina and Heidi making them both turn to each other before looking back at Charlotte who was also waiting for an answer from Tina.

Charlotte knew that she don't need to know about Engfa's personal life but after their meeting a few weeks ago, it really made her curious. She really wanted to know if Engfa had found a replacement, had that woman completely moved on ?

" Hmm Char, don't say you're like Heidi too, so busy wanting to know Ms Faa's personal matters "

Charlotte grinned and just nodded. Heidi laughed out loud making Tina shake her head.

" Come on Tina, tell us please !? "

" Hmm, I'm not even sure if Ms Faa has a partner yet, but from what I know from her employees, there are too many clients who are interested in Ms Faa but they all have to be rejected. The reason is I'm not quite sure but many people say that Ms Faa only likes women "

Heidi answered in an excited tone causing Tina to gently hit her thigh several times.

The words that came out of Tina's mouth made Heidi a little angry.

Meanwhile, Charlotte who was listening, felt her heart beating fast, she never thought that Engfa never had someone after her. In fact, she noticed that there are still many things that show Engfa was still the same person that she knew five years ago.

" But I'm not sure if it's true or not because from what I noticed she often spends time with her PA besides her secretary, Nudee "

" What do you mean ? Is her PA is a man ? "

Tina nodded making Charlotte quickly grab Tina's hand. She really wanted to know who the personal assistant that Tina was referring to.

Charlotte just moved away from there and remained silent. Her mind began to tick who the man in Engfa's life, he wouldn't just be a PA if they were always together and why Engfa needed a man to be her personal assistant when she knew Engfa was more comfortable working with women only.
