CHAPTER 20

Charlotte sped up her car, leaving Engfa's house. Her mind was a mess thinking about what had happened. She didn't understand why she could do something like that. She shouldn't have kissed Engfa or confessed that she still had feelings for her. Since she couldn't concentrate on her driving, she then stopped her car on the side of the road, trying to calm herself down. She screamed loudly, letting out her rage.

" Haaa !!!! ............. Why Charlotte ?! why are you so stupid ! "

She hit the steering wheel of her car repeatedly, frustrated at her stupid actions. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Her mind began to think about the incident, how could she dare to kiss that woman when they were just friends. Charlotte then began to realize, her feelings of jealousy towards Engfa and Apo, her difficulty saying "I love you" to Mew now strengthened her suspicion that she still loved Engfa all this time. Yes, she still loves that woman.

A week has passed but Charlotte was still the same, she was still silent, trying to avoid Engfa as much as possible. The pile of documents that have not yet been reviewed on the table, adding to the pressure on her mind. Today, there are two meetings that she needs to attend but they are all canceled because she still can't focus on them. Her mind keeps wandering thinking about Engfa. She looks at her mobile phone screen, there are several calls and SMS from Engfa that she ignores. She picks up the phone and opens the text that Engfa sent.

Engfa to Charlotte:

" Good morning Charlotte, I hope you have a good day today "

- 8.45 AM

" Char, today I plan to go see the progress of your house, do you want to join ? "

- 10.17 AM

" Char, don't forget to eat lunch, don't leave your stomach empty "

" Char, I found a new restaurant, shall we have dinner there tonight ? "

Charlotte sighed tiredly after reading all the texts the woman sent her today. Undeniably, since the first day the incident happened until now, Engfa had still been trying to contact her but she couldn't do anything because things were getting more complicated now.

What should she do ? She now had Mew in her life but her feelings had also changed. Yes, she had fallen in love with Engfa again but what about Mew ? Should she continue her relationship with Mew if her heart was no longer for him. But their wedding was only a few months away so she couldn't break up with Mew especially since Mew loved her so much. However, lately, her relationship with Mew had not been good, they always fought even if there was only a slight disagreement. This added more pressure to her.

A knock on the door interrupted Charlotte's concentration, Tina appeared behind the door heading towards her. She leaned on the chair in front of her boss.

" Char, are you okay ? Heidi said you canceled two more meetings today, are you having trouble ? What happened ? "

Charlotte just kept quiet, trying to keep herself busy by checking the documents on the table.

" Hmm I think I sent all the documents three days ago, are you still checking ? I think I can pick them up today "

Tina asked again but still no response from the woman. Tina let out a tired breath

" Char, I know you're my boss and I have no right to scold you more than that but I came here as your best friend, I don't want you to continue like this, postpone and cancel whatever meetings you want, this is not your way Char. If you continue like this, you'll make it difficult for me and Heidi if Mr Aus knows what you've done "

Tina was clear, Charlotte let out a tired breath, her gaze started towards Tina

" I don't know Tina, I don't know how to take care of myself right now. With so much work, my relationship problems with Mew and me with... "

Tina raised her eyebrows when Charlotte suddenly stopped from continuing her sentence.

" With who ? "

Tina asked wanting to be sure but Charlotte just shook her head.

" Hmm, nothing. Okay Tina, I want to continue settling these documents. Is there anything else you want besides this ? "

" Hmm, nope, so I'll get all the documents later, don't forget to let me know "

Said Tina who started to stand up even though she was a bit confused by her friend's behavior lately. Her steps suddenly stopped when she remembered that she needed to inform Charlotte of something.

" Oh Char, I forgot to tell you, this morning Engfa called me, she asked me to tell you that she wanted to take you to see the progress of your house, she called you but she said you didn't pick up. Do you want to come ? "

Charlotte was silent for a moment, it wasn't that she didn't want to but she wasn't ready to meet the woman yet.

" Hmm it's okay. Besides, I have a lot of work to do, just tell her I'm not free "

Tina was still confused. This was the first time, Charlotte didn't want to meet Engfa. Usually when Engfa's name was mentioned, she was the most excited

" Why didn't you tell her yourself ? "

Charlotte looked at Tina with a sharp expression on her face.

" Tina, you asked me to check all these documents as soon as possible, so when I have time to tell her "

Tina was stunned, since when did Charlotte never have time for Engfa.

" Hmm since when did you have no time for her Char ? all this time you two were always together to the point that I don't even know if Mew or Engfa is your real fiancée "

Charlotte just kept quiet while making an annoying face, she didn't want to talk about Engfa anymore. Her thoughts were too tangled.

" Hmm fine, I'll tell her later. I'm going out first "

After Tina's shadow disappeared, Charlotte's thoughts began to drift to Engfa again. To be honest, she really missed the woman. She missed her sweet smile that always showed dimples, missed the smell of perfume on her body that made Charlotte want to always hug her and their kiss that day made Charlotte even more addicted to the woman's soft lips.

Charlotte shook her head when she realized she shouldn't think about it anymore.

" What are you thinking Charlotte ! "
