CHAPTER 26

After almost two weeks, today Engfa was excited to go back to work. She scratched her head when she saw her desk filled with piles of documents placed by Apo and Nudee. Engfa was grateful that even though she was not in the office, all her staff were still doing their jobs well and this made her even more excited to work.

She sat on a chair, opening each document to review until almost 12 noon. While she was reviewing the documents, she saw several messages from Charlotte. She then opened them.

Charlotte to Engfa :

" Hey, do you want to hang out at my house tonight ? There's a great movie, let's watch it together ? "

A sweet smile on Engfa's lips, she quickly replied

" Okay, I'll see you at 7 PM "

Charlotte to Engfa :

" Okay ! See you tonight "

Engfa put her phone aside, a smile still etched on her lips. She admitted that her relationship with Charlotte was back to normal but she wasn't sure why Charlotte had suddenly changed. Was it because she felt guilty about Mew's actions towards her or was there another reason ? Engfa wondered in her heart. Not wanting to waste time thinking about it, she went back to finishing her work.

Charlotte worked hard to prepare spaghetti carbonara for her dinner with Engfa later. Today she decided to cook for the two of them since she was home early from work. Realizing that the clock on the wall showed 6.30 PM, she quickly served it on the table beautifully decorated with Engfa's favorite flower, white roses and a few candles to create a romantic atmosphere. She then went into her room to get ready before Engfa's arrival.

Exactly at 7 PM, Engfa arrived at Charlotte's apartment. This was her second time coming here, the first time she had sent the woman home from a site visit. However, this time, it was the first time Engfa had entered the apartment, and she was stunned by the arrangement of furniture and decorations in the apartment. Very neat and tidy. Her gaze began to shift towards Charlotte who was still standing in front of her, beautiful in a flowery dress making the woman look even more elegant with her style.

Charlotte also couldn't take her eyes off Engfa when she saw the woman's appearance. Even though she was only wearing simple clothes, she was still able to make her heart flutter with her captivating charm.

" Welcome to my heaven, Engfa "

Charlotte said, still with a sweet smile on her lips

" Thank you Charlotte for inviting me, anyway you look very beautiful tonight "

Engfa replied who also carved a sweet smile on her lips. Charlotte then led Engfa towards the dining table

" Ta daa ! "

Engfa was amazed to see their dining table which was beautifully decorated with several lit candles and her favorite flowers, white roses on the table as well as two plates of spaghetti carbonara and two glasses of red wine for the two of them.

" Engfa, do you like it ? "

Charlotte asked curiously about the results

" Did you do all this ? It's so beautiful, I really like it "

Charlotte nodded her head happily seeing Engfa really like the creativity she did.

" Please sit "

Engfa and Charlotte sat down, leaning on the chairs. They started eating, many topics were discussed whether related to their work and including the development of Charlotte's house that will be completed soon. Now the construction progress is almost 40 percent. Until Engfa finally opened the topic of the incident that happened to her two weeks ago.

" Char, can I ask a question ? I know I shouldn't ask about this but with what has happened to me, I feel I have the right to know what really happened between you and Mew "

Charlotte knew Engfa must have been wondering for a long time over the past two weeks because she was still silent. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk but with Engfa's unstable condition two weeks ago causing her to postpone her intention but maybe today was the right time for her to be honest including what happened between her and Engfa five years ago. She took a deep breath and said.

" Hmm, I'm sorry for still being silent about telling you the truth. Actually, a few days before Mew came to attack you, I broke off my engagement with him "

Engfa was shocked, her tongue stuck in her mouth to say

" Hmm.. but, but why Char ? Don't say that because our kiss the other day made you make that decision "

Engfa asked again, wanting to make sure the kiss wasn't the real reason.

" I'd be lying if I said that kiss wasn't one of the reasons. Hmm, I still love you Engfa, I broke off my engagement with Mew because I couldn't deny my feelings for you anymore. I didn't want to hurt Mew anymore and I didn't intend to hurt him because I think I've really moved on. That's why I'm continuing to work with you "

Charlotte said, disappointment clearly on her face as she continued.

" But I didn't realize my feelings would change. If I had known all this would happen, I would have avoided you Engfa. I'm sorry for what Mew did to you, I never thought he would be capable of doing that. I'm really sorry "

Engfa was still silent, she now realized that Mew had a reason for acting like that. Maybe Mew felt betrayed, that's why he acted like that but why didn't Mew want to hear her explanation first.

" So Mew knows that you still love me ? "

Charlotte nodded, her hand trying to reach Engfa's hand in front of her.

" Yeah he knows..... Engfa, I know I hurt you a lot, I left you because of the CEO position but honestly I say I really regret about my stupid actions towards you but I don't regret breaking off my engagement with Mew.. I still need you in my life, Engfa. I want you to come back to me, can you give me one more chance to make up for all the wrongs I did to you, please ? "

Charlotte stood up and approached Engfa, Engfa also stood up, their eyes met.

" Engfa, I still love you..."

Engfa was still trying to digest everything she heard. Finally all the questions in her mind all this time were answered. Charlotte left her for the CEO position and she decided to break off her engagement with Mew for herself. Engfa still found it hard to believe as if this was a dream.

" Char.... I don't know what to say, I'm shocked because...."

Engfa was stunned for a moment, trying to find the right words, Charlotte still staring at her face.

" Why Engfa ? "

Charlotte continued to close the distance, almost making their faces touch

" Because I thought you didn't love me anymore, I thought you really threw me out of your life Char "

" Engfa.... I'm sorry "

Charlotte continued to hug Engfa trying to calm her down then they broke their hug and looked at each other again. Charlotte looked down at Engfa's lips and she couldn't help but want to touch them.

So she finally did. Charlotte slowly raised her hand and traced Engfa's sharp jawline to her lips, leaving her thumb on Engfa's upper lip.

" Engfa, can I kiss you ? "

Charlotte's question made Engfa stunned for a moment but she then spoke.

" Since when do you like asking permission huh ? yes Charlotte, please "

Without wasting any time, Charlotte pushed Engfa to the kitchen counter and kissed her lips hard. It felt like everything around them stopped. Charlotte's heart pounded in her chest as she bit Engfa's lower lip, begging to come in and Engfa happily opened her mouth for her. When their tongues touched, Charlotte couldn't help but moan, causing Engfa to grip her hips even tighter.

She held Engfa's face to deepen the kiss. When the need for air became too much, they finally pulled away and Engfa began to kiss Charlotte's entire neck and the kiss sent shivers down Charlotte's spine. Engfa then began to kiss Charlotte's lips again as their lips moved in perfect harmony, each brush and caress fueling the storm of desire that was burning between them.

And as the intensity of their kiss reached its peak, Charlotte realized it was more than just a fleeting passion. After the kiss, the two of them looked at each other. Without hesitation, Charlotte pulled Engfa into her room as she lay down on the bed then she leaned closer to Engfa.

With a gentle touch, she lifted Engfa's chin, capturing her lips in another soft kiss. And in that moment, nothing but the two of them were lost in the softness of the bed and the sweetness of the love they shared. Their hearts also pounded as they explored the depths of their newfound intimacy, their lips moving against each other in a dance of passion and desire and finally they both surrendered completely to the intoxicating pull of their embrace.

Engfa pulled Charlotte into her arms, holding her tightly as if afraid to let her go.

" Char....don't leave me again "

" No Engfa....I won't, I promise "
