CHAPTER 2

Five years later

Charlotte is reviewing monthly sales reports each of her subsidiaries. Being appointed as the CEO of a company that supplies building materials to professional home builders and contractors around New York makes her complain a little bit due of the never-ending work commitments. However, because this what had she chose for herself, she had to continue plus her father's company Aus Supply Sdn Bhd is one of the main building materials supplier companies in New York.

A knock on the door interrupted her concentration on the report on the desk. Heidi Jensen appeared, giving her a sweet smile.

" Charrr, it's lunch time, let's go out, Tina couldn't join us, she had to go check the stock of building materials at the site "

Said Heidi who continued to sit in the seat in front of Charlotte. Heidi was Charlotte's personal assistant cum secretary. Because they were always together as an employer and employee, the relationship became more closer and eventually they both became good friends including Tina Wigg who was the head manager cum supervisor at Aus Supply Sdn Bhd.

" Hmm sorry Heidi, I still have a lot of work to do, how about you just order food delivery, we can lunch here anyway "

" Hmm fine but you need treat me then, so what do you want to eat ? "

Asked Heidi who seem very happy when the food for her lunch was bought by her boss.

" Hmm anything, Sandwich Subway is fine "

" Okay ! "

Heidi was busy looking at the subway menu, then she just remembered at 2.30 PM, Charlotte has a meeting with her father.

" Oh Char, I just remembered to inform you, at 2.30 PM, Mr Aus wants to see you, he will coming here "

Charlotte's brow furrowed as she asked Heidi back. She just feel weird because her father rarely stopped by the office unless there was something very important that required him to come here.

" Hmm why all of a sudden ? did he say anything ? "

" Hmmm nope, he just called me and said that he wanna to meet you "

Heidi replied, just finished ordering two sandwich subway for the two of them before turning to Charlotte.

" Okay in 15 minutes our food will arrive "

" Okay thanks.... hmm but it's strange that my dad suddenly wants to come here. Usually he will call me directly or invite me to meet him at home. Do I have an important meeting with any clients today, Heidi ? "

Charlotte asked again, still confused about her father. Heidi looked at her, trying to wonder too.

" Don't have, Char. Hmm I think it might be work-related. If it's personal, he wouldn't want to come to the office, right ? "

Charlotte was silent for a moment before finally nodding in agreement

" Hmm maybe. But if it's work, what kind of work ? I don't think I've had any problems with any of my clients so far "

Heidi shrugged, not sure either.

" I don't know either. Tina also didn't tell me anything. Usually if there was a problem with any client, Tina would definitely tell us first, right ? "

" Yes, that's right. Erghh, my mind is getting confused now "

Charlotte said, started couldn't focus her work on the table. Heidi who looked at her, tried to calm her down.

" Char, relax okay. Mr Aus is nobody, he's your father so why do you need to worry "

Heidi said while laughing, making Charlotte lower her head in embarrassment before continuing to focus on her work again.
