CHAPTER 30

Engfa and Charlotte and her friends gathered for their dinner. It so happened that tonight there was a party near the beach so they decided to have dinner at the party since the party was open to the public.

At this time, it was already 7:00 pm when they got there but there were still not many people. They were all having dinner before the party started. Charlotte was next to Engfa while Nudee was next to Chompu and Tina, Heidi and Apo were sitting in front of them. They started eating, chatting here and there.

" Hey guys, let's cheer for Engfa and Charlotte ! we hope your relationship will last until the end ! "

Heidi suddenly said while raising her glass with beer.

" Aww you are always sweet, Heidi "

Charlotte said, they all clicked their glasses together, enjoying their dinner perfectly.

After dinner, they all stayed and joined the party. While they were enjoying the fun at the party, suddenly Engfa's shoulder was touched by a tall man. Engfa turned towards the man and a smile appeared on her lips. Charlotte who was next to her was confused.

" Hey Jeff ! How are you ? "

Engfa then hugged the man named Jeff. Engfa's actions were not liked by Charlotte.

" Hi Engfa, I'm fine. How about you ? "

Jeff returned Engfa's hug. Jeff Satur was Engfa's best friend when they were little before Jeff's family moved to London because of his father's job as a police officer. The last time they met was two years ago when Engfa was on vacation there and ran into each other at a cafe. Engfa thought she would never see Jeff again.

" I've been doing well so far. Oh my god, I didn't think I'd see you here, I thought you'd never come back here again "

Engfa's reply made Jeff laugh. Charlotte next to her started to feel neglected. She then wrapped her arm around Engfa's waist, a sweet smile on her lips.

" Babe, don't you want to introduce me to your friend ? "

Charlotte's voice soft but laced with steel. She wouldn't let anyone have this close to her girlfriend, not while she was watching. Engfa smiled at her

" Oh sorry, by the way this is Jeff Satur, my best friend from childhood. And Jeff, this is Charlotte Austin "

Charlotte raised her eyebrows, a little surprised when Engfa just said Charlotte Austin, no my woman, no partner, nothing. Okay then. Charlotte whispered softly, just shaking Jeff's hand.

" Hi Charlotte, I'm Jeff. Nice to meet you "

" Hi Jeff, I'm Charlotte. Nice to meet you too. Babe, I didn't know you had close friends when you were little "

Charlotte said before turning to Engfa,

" Sorry babe, I forgot to tell you. When we were little, Jeff and I always spent time together, went to the same places together, watched cartoons at his place or my house and always spent time at the amusement park near his house. We really enjoyed a lot of things together "

Engfa's words made Charlotte feel a little jealous of Jeff

" Oh I see, so you all must miss each other, right ? "

Charlotte's question made Engfa and Jeff feel an awkward atmosphere between them.

" Uhm..... Of course I miss Engfa, Charlotte. And I hope you are okay with it. Anyway Engfa, enjoy your night. I'll be back to my friend. See you later "

Jeff knew that if he stayed there, Charlotte might get even more jealous so he decided to get away from it. After Jeff walked away, Charlotte took the drink on the table, downing it in one gulp. The alcohol burned her throat but nothing burned her chest from watching that entire exchange. Engfa noticed something went off and held Charlotte's hand as she poured more tequila into her glass again.

" Hey Char, slow down ! "

Engfa said frowning at Charlotte but Charlotte just glanced at her without ignoring the warning, downing another shot.

" Charlotte, are you okay ? "

Charlotte just ignored Engfa. Anger welled up in her chest. Engfa was confused by her lover's behavior. What exactly was going on.

" Babe.... tell me, what's wrong ? "

Before Engfa could finish her words, Charlotte chugged her drink all at once before walking out. Engfa was shocked by the woman's actions and quickly chased after her.

" Charlotte wait ! "

Engfa shouted, not knowing what was happening but she had to know why Charlotte was suddenly acting like this.

Charlotte was just about to enter their room when Engfa chased after her.

" Charlotte, I told you to stop, oh my god ! "

Engfa said panting and Charlotte finally stopped right after she grabbed the doorknob but she wasn't facing Engfa.

" Look at me Charlotte "

Engfa said with one last breath and slowly Charlotte turned but looking at the ground

" Eyes up here, Charlotte "

Charlotte slowly looked up and looked like she was about to cry

" Let's talk ? "

Engfa asked then took Charlotte's hand and walked into the room. She led the woman to the bed and Charlotte did as she was told. Engfa stood in front of her.

" What happened babe ? did I do something wrong ? "

Engfa started softly. Charlotte looked up to meet her eyes with tears.

" I'm mad at you "

Charlotte said while wiping her tears, Engfa was still confused

" Hmm but why ? "

" Because you didn't introduce me as your lover to Jeff ! "

When she heard the woman's words, Engfa chuckled, she didn't think Charlotte could be this sensitive.

" Oh my god Charlotte, I'm sorry okay. I was just surprised to find Jeff there. It wasn't my intention to hide our relationship. I'm sorry "

" Hmm you... you promise not to do this to me again okay ? "

Charlotte asked between sobs. Engfa bit her lower lip and nodded

" Yes, I promise, so stop being a baby, will you ? "

Charlotte glared at her

" I don't "

She sighed. Engfa then held Charlotte's right hand and placed her face in Charlotte's palm while closing her eyes.

" Hmm you know I won't look at anyone else but you "

She whispered, her voice shaking. This caused Charlotte's spine to shiver.

" I know but I'm just scared. I'm scared of losing you again Engfa "

Engfa opened her eyes and held Charlotte's hand tighter.

" Don't worry, I only love you, Charlotte. Only you Charlotte Austin. I don't want anyone, you can't be replaced. You and I will always be together forever "

Charlotte's heart beat fast and she pulled Engfa gently while hugging the woman so tightly.

" Thank you Engfa, thank you for everything. I love you so much "

Charlotte whispered as she buried her face in the crook of Engfa's neck.
