CHAPTER 31

It's been eight months since Engfa and Charlotte were together but their relationship is still intact and full of joy and excitement. Every problem is always discussed together, there are rarely any disagreements and Engfa always makes sure Charlotte gets her full attention since her lover is a very jealous person while Charlotte always makes sure Engfa's health is well taken care of because the woman often suffers from migraines if she works too much. Their attitude makes their relationship complement each other without any doubts between them.

Today Charlotte invited Engfa to accompany her to buy kitchen items since most of them are gone. This is because since Engfa has been in her life, her kitchen is now busy with her cooking. It can be said that almost every day she tries to find time to cook for Engfa because the woman has loved her cooking since university, especially if Engfa stays at her house for a week.

Even though they had been together for eight months, Engfa and Charlotte still hadn't moved since they each had their own house, so they had made a schedule where one week Engfa would stay at Charlotte's house, then the next week Charlotte would stay at Engfa's house and they would take turns doing it every week.

This week Engfa was staying at Charlotte's house so Charlotte thought she wanted to make creamy salmon pasta that they both loved. They arrived at the supermarket not far from Charlotte's house. They went in and started looking for things to buy. Since Engfa wasn't very good at cooking, she just looked at all the things Charlotte bought. She helped push the trolley here and there just following Charlotte's path.

Engfa then saw some bread packages that Charlotte had taken, she was doubtful whether the two of them could eat them all or not since the bread would easily expire. She then asked her.

" Hmm babe, why did you buy so much bread ? Can you finish it this week ? "

Charlotte who was at that time looking at every brand of sauce she wanted to buy, turned to Engfa.

" Hmm, you're staying at my house for a week, so I guess we can eat it all "

Charlotte replied, looking back at the sauce. Engfa was a bit dissatisfied with the answer given.

" But this is a lot, baby, I don't think the two of us can finish it, I think two packages are enough. The bread also expires quickly "

Engfa said trying to convince her lover who had finished choosing the sauce.

" Hmm okay. But if it's not enough, then you have to go buy it yourself  "

Charlotte replied and started moving forward to find other items. Engfa just shook her head while laughing at her lover's joke.

" Yes, if it's over, I'll go buy it myself. don't worry "

Engfa pushed the trolley towards Charlotte who was already in front. The two of them continued to buy necessities until the trolley was full. Charlotte was grateful that she had invited Engfa to accompany her today because she had bought too many things, so Engfa could help her carry them to the car and at home later.

After about an hour, they finished shopping for kitchen necessities, they headed to the parking area to put the things in the car. When they arrived at their car, Engfa started lifting the things one by one with Charlotte's help. After putting the things in, they immediately got into the car but before they could get into the car, Mew appeared from behind, calling their names.

" Charlotte, Engfa "

When their names were called, Engfa and Charlotte immediately turned around and were shocked to see Mew behind them. Charlotte then realized that Engfa was panicking and immediately went to Engfa to try to protect her from her ex-fiancé

They were shocked because they had not seen Mew for months. As far as they knew, Mew had been in prison for four months for attacking Engfa. Even though he had only been in prison for four months, Mew's career as a lawyer was revoked and Mew's life after being released from prison was also ruined when his case went viral and his close friends distanced themselves from him because they did not expect Mew to do such a thing to a woman.

Mew really regretted what he did to Engfa and his luxurious life disappeared in an instant because of his stupid action. He was also very miserable while in prison because he didn't think life in prison was so scary.

" What are you doing here Mew ?! What else do you want from us ?! "

Charlotte screamed, still trying to calm Engfa who was panicking behind her. Since that incident, Engfa has suffered severe trauma especially when reading the news about abuse or beating cases because she must have remembered the incident that happened to her.

Mew tried to control the situation, not wanting passersby to look at them.

" Charlotte, please calm down first. I don't want to do anything "

Mew said trying to approach them but was stopped by Charlotte

" Don't come close ! Otherwise, I'll scream ! "

" Charr.... Please trust me, I don't want anything to do with you two. I just saw you two earlier, that's why I came to say hello because we haven't seen each other in a while "

Mew tried to explain the real situation. When he got out of his car to go to the supermarket, he saw Engfa and Charlotte lifted up items. At first, he didn't dare to reprimand them, worried that they wouldn't want to confront him, but since he hadn't had a chance to apologize to Engfa yet, he ried to approach them and reprimand them both.

" I know with what happened, you and Engfa don't want to see me again but please give me a chance to make up for my mistake. Engfa..... please forgive me "

Mew tried to approach them but Charlotte and Engfa kept taking a step back trying to be more careful.

" No Mew ! With what happened to Engfa, do you think it's easy for me to forgive you ?! Engfa is so traumatized because of you ! Because of you Mew ! "

Charlotte screamed again, her voice rising, making Mew feel even more disappointed with her actions. Engfa, still trying to calm herself from panic even though both her hands were still shaking. Charlotte held her lover's hand tightly, wanting to make sure she was always by his side.

" Char please..... I'm really sorry. I know I was wrong. I'm a coward, I shouldn't have done that to Engfa. Engfa... please forgive me. I've been punished and I deserve all this but please forgive me, I'm sorry for what I did "

Mew pleaded as he tried to kneel in front of them until Engfa finally stepped forward.

" Babe..... don't "

Charlotte tried to stop Engfa from stepping forward, Engfa smiled and said

" It's okay babe "

She then headed towards Mew who was still kneeling there.

" Mew...... I know you're angry after finding out I'm Charlotte's ex-lover but honestly I'm telling you the truth, I never had the slightest intention of interfering with your relationship with Charlotte. I'm just disappointed why can't we talk in a good way, why do you have to use force against me "

Engfa replied softly, Mew in front tried to get up and approach

" I know Engfa, I know what I did was very outrageous. I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that. I shouldn't have blamed you. It's my fault because I ignored Charlotte a lot. It's my fault "

Mew said as he tried to touch Engfa's hand but before he could, Charlotte quickly stopped him and pushed him away. A strong slap landed on Mew's face, causing the man to flinch for a moment. But he deserved all of that.

" Don't touch Engfa ! You don't deserve to touch her, Mew ! Do you think what you've done, Engfa can forgive you that easily huh ?! You really don't deserve it Mew ! "

Engfa tried to calm Charlotte down. She knew Charlotte couldn't control her emotions anymore, but things needed to be resolved amicably. Even though Mew had treated her in such a way that she was severely traumatized, the man had received the punishment he deserved and he deserved to be forgiven.

" Char....please calm down. Let me talk to him first okay "

Said Engfa who wanted to control the situation, Charlotte finally just agreed and nodded.

" Hmm Mew, I can forgive you but on one condition, I don't want to see you again. Charlotte and I are in a relationship right now so we both don't want anyone including you to interfere with our relationship "

Engfa had to act like that because she felt this was the best way for the three of them. Mew smiled even though his face was full of disappointment. He had lost everything he wanted but he also had to bear all the consequences.

" Thank you Engfa, I promise I won't bother you again. I won't bother you both. Please take care of Charlotte for me, don't ever make her cry. And you too Char, I know you're happy with Engfa now, I just want you to know that I will always love you and I hope you can forgive me for everything "

Mew finished his words then he continued walking away. His heart was too heavy to walk but this was the consequence he had to face. Engfa and Charlotte just nodded before each looked at each other and said.

" I won't let anyone hurt you again. I will protect you as best I can, I promise "

Engfa gave her a sweet smile as she kissed Charlotte's forehead

" I will do the same for you Char. Thank you for everything "
