" Huh ? You fought with Charlotte because of yesterday ? "

Nudee asked, her eyes widening in surprise as she glanced at Engfa. They were having a discussion in the meeting room, their laptops placed on the table. They had two cups of coffee next to them for afternoon stimulation.

Engfa sighed and shook her head

" Hmm I don't know Nudee, I tried to explain everything to her but she didn't seem to understand. Besides, I didn't lie to her either "

Nudee burst out laughing making Engfa glare at her

" I can't imagine Charlotte's face, it must be creepy, right ? "

" Hmm so what should I do Nudee ? I know I was wrong for forgetting our dinner last night but I didn't think it would be this bad "

Nudee thought for a moment trying to think of an idea for her friend to convince her lover.

" Hmm why did you surprise her again ? you like suprising her right ? and Charlotte likes it too "

Nudee suggested to Engfa, Engfa paused to think about the idea as she looked at her secretary.

" Hmm I guess that's not a bad idea. Okay I'll go buy something for her after our discussion is over "

" Okay Goodluck Faa ! "

Engfa just gave Nudee a small smile before returning her attention to her laptop.

After finishing buying something for Charlotte, Engfa stopped by a flower shop. As she stepped inside, the air was filled with the sweet scent of fresh flowers, instantly lifting her spirits. Rows of blooming flowers adorned the shelves until a bouquet caught her eye.

As she lingered over the various flowers, contemplating their beauty and significance, a kind old woman who worked at the shop approached her with a warm smile.

" I can't help but notice you admiring the bouquet "

She said, her voice soft and soothing.

" It's one of our favorites here, the beautiful sunflowers. Quite popular with our customers, I must say "

With an appreciative smile, Engfa nodded in agreement with the kind woman's assessment.

" Yes, it's beautiful, I noticed it when I came in "

Engfa said, her voice filled with genuine admiration

As the kind woman skillfully arranged the bouquet at the counter, Engfa followed her, watching her work in awe. With a warm smile, the old woman glanced at Engfa.

" Is this for someone special ? "

She asked softly. With a soft smile, Engfa replied

" Yes, indeed "

" And how long have you been with this special someone ? "

Her genuine interest radiated warmth. Engfa scratched her neck with a faint smile.

" Hmm almost a year but I have a little apology to make now, I did something she didn't like "

" Oh, I understand but relationships can be like that sometimes, as long as there's love, there's always a way to make things right "

" Hmm I'm not sure if she'll be okay after what I did. It's getting complicated now "

Engfa admitted, her voice trailing off as she lowered her gaze.

As the old woman skillfully arranged the flowers

" You know, my husband passed away not long ago. And the thing I wish I could tell him while he was still with me is that life is too short for regrets so if there's someone you love, don't let pride or fear stop you from expressing your feelings and trust me, you'll be happy "

She said softly, her hands working skillfully with the flowers and her eyes misty with memories.

After the woman finished arranging the bouquet, she handed it to Engfa with a sweet smile. Engfa accepted it gratefully.

Sighing softly, Engfa offered her condolences for the old woman's loss

" I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, thank you for sharing your wisdom with me. It means more than you know "

The woman smiled warmly, her eyes reflecting deep understanding. Engfa thanked her again for the beautifully made bouquet and she reached the exit to continue her journey to Charlotte's company.

Charlotte was engrossed in her monthly sales report, her fingers dancing on the keyboard, the steady rhythm of typing filling the quiet evening atmosphere in her office. Then, a knock broke the silence, pulling her from her focused trance. She glanced and called out

" Come in "

Heidi peeked through the slightly open door

" Char...."

" Yes ? "

Charlotte replied, her curiosity peaking

" There's someone here to see you "

Heidi said, her lips curling into a smile

" Your Engfa......"

Charlotte raised an eyebrow, a mixture of amusement and annoyance flashing across her face. Sighing, she stood up, leaning against her desk.

" Please let her in "

Heidi nodded and opened the door wider before backing away with a smile.

Soon, Engfa entered, still dressed in sharp suit she'd left the house in that morning. In her hand, she carried a vibrant bouquet of sunflowers, Charlotte's favorite flowers. With a warm smile, Engfa approached, handing out the flowers.

" This is for you, babe "

She said, her tone affectionate.

Charlotte accepted the bouquet with a nod but her eyes darted to the branded paper bag in Engfa's other hand. She crossed her arms, her expression changing

" And what is this ? "

Engfa felt a sudden change in mood

" A little something I picked up today "

" I didn't ask for anything expensive, why did you suddenly give me this ? "

She said, her tone colder.

Engfa stepped closer, slowly opening Charlotte's hand and placing the bag in her hand.

" You don't have to ask, babe. I was out with Nudee at the mall and I saw this. It made me think of you and I wanted to surprise you "

Charlotte raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smirk tugging at her lips

" You ? Shopping ? At the mall ? "

Engfa nodded, her expression soft

" Yes... for my woman "

The words echoed in the air and Charlotte let out a soft laugh

" Your woman, huh ? "

She echoed, her tone light but teasing. She turned, walked towards her chair and sat down gracefully before adding

" It's funny, now you just realized you have a lover ? "

The comment hit its mark

Engfa's face tightened slightly as she took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment.

" Babe.... I "

" Thanks for the flowers, Engfa but I have work to do now "

Charlotte interrupted, her voice sharp. She placed the paper bag on her desk without looking at it.

Engfa moved slowly towards Charlotte's chair, her steps deliberate. She leaned against the table where Charlotte was sitting, pretending to ignore her presence. Engfa leaned forward, slowly getting closer until Charlotte suddenly stopped typing on her laptop

" Can't you see I work here ? "

Charlotte said, her tone casual but dismissive with a clear challenge. Engfa's smile widened as she reached out, cupping Charlotte's cheek before giving her a firm kiss on the lips. Charlotte pushed her away immediately, her voice sharp

" Engfa ! what are you doing ?! "

A soft laugh escaped from Engfa but her smile remained unchanged.

" Why is this, babe ? Every time I kiss you, you don't even get angry "

Engfa said as she tried to kiss her lover again, but this time, Charlotte quickly pushed her away until she almost fell to the floor.

" Engfa ! please stop ! I think you'd better go home now before I lose my temper ! "

At that moment, Engfa was just stunned and frozen. Charlotte then shoved a paper bag into Engfa's hand, her movement sharp

" And take this and keep it all away from me. I swear to God, I'm going to explode. damn it ! "

Charlotte's voice rose, her anger boiling. Engfa's breath hitched, her chest tightening in panic as she looked at Charlotte who stood up from her chair and was ready to throw something at her. Engfa didn't wait for it. She spun on her heels and rushed out the office. Her heart pounding as she escaped from Charlotte's company.
