CHAPTER 3

Charlotte hugged her father before they both sat back down on the sofa. In fact, the young woman felt a little guilty for not seeing her family for almost two months. After she finished her studies, she had learned to be independent, living alone in an apartment. It was only after she got engaged to her boyfriend, Mew Suppasit, who was a lawyer, she spent a lot of time at her fiancé's apartment.

" Papa, is there any problem ? We just can meet outside, you don't need to come here "

Mr Austin sipped his warm coffee then looked at his only daughter.

" It's nothing, I just stopped by. Coincidentally this morning, I met Mr War "

" Mr War ? Hmm who is that, Papa ? "

Charlotte wondered who exactly Mr War was but suddenly her father glared at her with displeasure. Both arms were crossed as he leaned back on the chair. Charlotte tried to look away, trying to avoid her father's sharp gaze.

" Charr, I think you've been CEO for five years, but you still don't know who Mr War is ? "

Charlotte just gave a plain smile.

" Mr War is one of the main buyers of building materials in our company. War Properties Sdn Bhd is his company and now his company is one of the most trusted contractor companies in New York "

Charlotte just nodded her head, embarrassed. She didn't know why she never pay attention on this company before even though War Properties Sdn Bhd was one of major buyer of her company.

" The luxury apartment that I gave you was built by him, now his daughter is taking over. I have dealt with his daughter, she was very skilled so I think you should deal with his daughter for your house later "

Mr Austin said again as he also suggested the company to Charlotte to build her dream house but Charlotte seems didn't like the idea.

" Huh ? hmm no Papa, I don't want it or why don't you just take care of all that, Papa. I don't want it "

Mr Austin took a deep breath before letting it out slowly

" Char, why do you want papa to take care of it ? That's your house. Anyway I don't want to hear any excuses. I've set an appointment with his daughter already. Tomorrow at 2 PM, you have to go there "

Mr Austin quickly got up from the chair as he wanted to go home. Charlotte still with a unhappy expression. She knew that she wants to build her dream house by herself because since childhood she had the determination and intention to have her own dream house but not the way like this.

Mr Austin turned back to his daughter and said again.

" And one more thing Char, I know you are the CEO but at least you have to know all the main buyers in our company. Don't rely too much on Tina. You have to participate too, understand ? "

Charlotte just nodded in agreement. It wasn't that she didn't want to meet all the major buyers in her company but Tina was already capable of dealing with them all so she doesn't need to know. What was most important was that sales should reach the target as she wants.

" And don't forget your appointment tomorrow. See you again "

Mr Austin walked away leaving Charlotte standing in the doorway. Charlotte started walking back to her office after her father's shadow disappeared. She leaned back in the chair. Thinking about her dream house, she suddenly remembered the memories she had with Engfa five years ago. She always asked Engfa to draw a 3D version of her dream house and she really likes all the designs made by her ex-lover.

She admitted that she felt a guilty for leaving Engfa like that, she should have been honest and just continued their relationship but she also didn't understand why she had to act like that. Now it's been five years since they broke up and they haven't seen each other again, all contacts have been deleted, but sometimes she wonders what Engfa's life is like now ? Will she become a successful contractor or what has happened to her ?
