CHAPTER 6

At their chosen restaurant, Charlotte and her fiancé, Mew ordered spaghetti bolognese and beef steak for their dinner. After the food arrived, Charlotte didn't touch her food much and she didn't talk much either. One question was asked and only one short answer was given. She wasn't like this before. Usually she was the one who did most of the talking whenever they went out together. This made Mew feel a little confused.

" Hmm babe, is spaghetti not good ? "

Charlotte shook her head, only giving a fake smile. Mew raised his eyebrows not satisfied with the answer given by the woman.

" Then why didn't you finish the food ? "

Mew asked again in a soft tone

" Oh I'm full "

Charlotte only gave a short answer making her fiancé gently touch her hand.

" Hmm are you sure ? Do you have a problem ? Let's share it with me, maybe I can help you "

" Yeah babe, I'm okay, I'm really full, maybe I just tired "

Mew nodded, his hand still gently holding Charlotte's hand while still looking at his fiancée who was a little moody today. He tried to find an idea or topic that could catch that girl's attention.

" Hmm okay, so how was your meeting with Ms Faa ? Everything okay ? "

Charlotte realizes she forgot to tell about her meeting with Engfa. When she thought about it, she thinks it would be better if she just kept it a secret about herself and Engfa. If only Mew knew that Engfa was her ex-lover, this man might not allow her to deal with her ex-lover anymore.

Mew is still waiting for the answer.

" Oh everything was okay babe, Engfa is very understanding, she.."

" Engfa ? "

Her words were interrupted by Mew, her fiancé's question causing her to pause for a moment before she resumed.

" Oh Engfa is Ms Faa that Papa recommend to me, actually we are the same age so I think it's better to call her by her name, that's more comfortable, right "

Mew just nodded focusing on what Charlotte said

" Hmm, I asked her to change the plan a bit, add two more rooms that we discussed, so now just wait for her to prepare a new plan, then we can continue visit the site "

Charlotte was obviously trying to act normal. She didn't know why she suddenly became agitated when Mew questioned her like that.

" Okay, so when can we visit the site ? "

" Hmm, I'm not sure either, maybe next week. I'll try to confirm with Engfa first okay. Anything, I'll tell you later "

" Okay babe, I can't wait to meet Engfa too, she must be a really skilled person right ? I hope her work is really satisfactory so you don't have to look for another contractor if there is a problem later "

" Yeah I hope so "

Charlotte gave a small smile before taking another sip of red wine then trying to look away to avoid the topic. Her right hand was still gently held by her man.

" Hmm by the way babe, I think I want to have our wedding this year, what do you think ? "

Charlotte's eyes widened, surprised. The two of them just got engaged two months ago and the wedding was planned for next year so she didn't expect Mew to want it so soon.

Actually, the romance between them started a year after Charlotte took over her father's company. The two of them met for the first time during a dinner held by Aus Supply Sdn Bhd. Mew was Mr Aus' trusted lawyer. Mew's caring and respectful attitude made Charlotte fall in love with the man. At the same time, Charlotte is still struggling to forget Engfa until the presence of Mew by her side makes her accept Mew as her boyfriend and Mew is one of the people who helped her forget all the memories with Engfa from the past five years.

Charlotte also admits she was still finding the strength and courage to be honest with Mew that she was not a straight person. She was a bisexual who can fall in love with any gender at any time. In the beginning, she also did not know that she was bisexual because all her life she never had feelings for any man and she thought she was a lesbian because Engfa Waraha, the only person and woman who made her heart beat fast and Engfa Waraha was also her first love. Even though it's been five years, she doesn't deny that Engfa was still in her heart but for now Mew was everything to her.

Mew noticed the Charlotte in front of her was still silent

" Babe ? "

" Hmm sorry, but why all of a sudden babe ? Aren't we planning to do it next year ? "

" I'm sorry babe, I just feel I can't wait to live with you. You know that I really love you, I don't know if I don't have you, how would my life be without you "

The words that came out of Mew's mouth made Charlotte feel touched. She knew that Mew loved her so deeply and so did her but her meeting with Engfa left her feeling a little confused.

" Babe, I know you love me, I love you too but for now I think I want to settle and focus on our house first. At least after marriage, we won't have to think about other things. Can we ? "

Mew was silent for a moment before finally agreeing. He gave a sincere smile before returning to his meal. Charlotte smiled back, her thoughts drifting to Engfa. Since the meeting last evening, her mind has not stopped thinking about her ex-lover. She sighed tiredly.
