Chapter 532: Settle The Dues
Rebirth: Pampered Wife’s Counterattack
The moment he turned around, Fang Xinxin called out to him.
Her voice was clear and bright. âDoctor Shi, donât be in such a hurry to leave. We still have to âreminisce about the pastâ.â
âMiss Fang, Iâm very busy. Letâs reminisce some other time...â Shi Qian dearly wished that his feet could begin flying.
Bai Qinghaoâs cold voice came from behind. âStop right there.â
Shi Qian was about to step out of the villaâs door. Now, he could only move his leg back. His signature smile seemed to be especially bitter today. âCEO Bai...â
The imperial decree instructed him to stop. Even if he was beaten to death, he wouldnât dare to run.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Liu Li glared at him unhappily and whispered. âBrother, you donât have any loyalty whatsoever. You actually tried to run away without me.â
âWho says I was running? Iâm just busy.â
âWhat could you possibly be busy with? Didnât we agree to go drinking together tonight?â
âQuiet. Stop tearing down my stage. Are you trying to shorten my life?â Shi Qian recalled the way Liu Li had nearly been shot to death after offending Fang Xinxin. The three days of training he had suffered were also worse than death. It was much more frightening than being killed on the spot.
Fang Xinxin smiled dazzlingly and innocently. She made for a stunning sight. âDoctor Shi, we havenât settled our bill yet. A gentleman like you wonât leave his dues unpaid, right?â
âAiyo.â Shi Qian took in her gorgeous smile.
Although she was beautiful, he felt his scalp prickling with pain. âMiss Fang, what debts could be there between us?â
Fang Xinxin kindly reminded him. âI bought so many candies for you that your teeth nearly dropped from the sweetness. You wanted to kill me for it, didnât you?â
She then leaned into Bai Qinghaoâs arms and whined. âQinghao, I previously treated Doctor Shi to a meal out of the goodness in my heart. I even paid his bill at âImperial Cityâ. Yet, he went around telling everyone that I caused him to lose his face...â
Shi Qianâs expression turned stiff. He glared at Liu Li hatefully and whispered. âThis is all your fault. Look at this. I knew I wouldnât be able to escape from this. Would this have happened if you had kept your mouth shut?â
âHow could I have known that this beautiful woman was Fang Xinxin, that ugly...â Liu Li was full of regrets. âI thought that she left, and that it was harmless to say those things. Why are you blaming me? If you werenât trying to snatch from me...â
He noticed Bai Qinghaoâs stern gaze and his heart immediately skipped a beat in fright.
Bai Qinghao asked coldly and heavily. âSnatching what?â
Liu Li trembled in fear.
If Boss found out that both Shi Qian and he were pursuing Fang Xinxin, how were they supposed to hold onto their lives?
âSnatch... snatch...â Liu Li was afraid of answering truthfully.
However, he was also afraid that the consequences would be far worse if he lied.
His youthful, rather charming complexion turned pale.
Fang Xinxin understood what Bai Qinghao was capable of doing when he was jealous. If he found out that the two idiots had tried to pursue her, they would be doomed to die.
Although Shi Qian and Liu Li always disliked her, she knew from her past life that they were both very loyal to Bai Qinghao.
For Bai Qinghaoâs sake, she could not allow them to really die.
Thus, Fang Xinxin spoke up. âLiu Li and Shi Qian were fighting to flatter me.â
She wasnât lying. Instead, she chose to look over the fact that they did so to pursue her.
Liu Li rushed to nod. âIndeed, Boss.â
Bai Qinghaoâs gaze turned meaningful for a moment but thankfully, he did not pursue the matter further.
Liu Li recalled the way he had insulted Fang Xinxin earlier. He even said that she wasnât good enough to be with Boss. Now, he felt regretful to the point of wanting to commit suicide.
He guessed that he would have to suffer another three days of special training.
He wondered if he would be lucky enough to hold onto his life after enduring it once more.
Shi Qian took in Liu Liâs pale complexion and patted him on the shoulder comfortingly.
This was because he knew that Liu Li had offended Fang Xinxin far more and was doomed to be way more pitiful than he would be.
