Chapter 545: Crying?

The man had a mischievous smile and an attractive appearance. His ink black brows were curved and his nose was sharp. Combined with his tall figure, these features gave him an especially approachable aura.

This was Chi Minzhe, from the private investigation office.

Chi Minzhe handed two items to her. The two transparent containers each contained a few strands of hair. They were individually labelled with the names, ‘Fang Manxue’ and ‘Long Shuhai’.

She did not wish to return to the Fang home. Instead, she had instructed Chi Minzhe to come up with ways to obtain Long Shuhai and Fang Manxue’s hair samples.

Combined with Fang Lilan’s hair, which she managed to snare earlier, she now had everything she needed from the three troublemakers in the Fang home.

“It’s only right that I do my work after receiving your money.” Chi Minzhe approached the hospital room door to ask. “Since I’m here, may I go in to take a look at Uncle?”

“There’s no need for that,” she responded.

Chi Minzhe insisted. “We’ve cooperated on so many things, and I’ve earned a lot of money through you. It’s only right that I visit my employer’s father. By the way, the only reason I didn’t bring any gifts is because it isn’t appropriate for me to bring any food for your father right now.”

Fang Xinxin smiled and took the initiative to open the hospital room door, inviting him in.

Chi Minzhe approached the hospital bed and took in the sight of Long Yifan breathing quietly. “Miss Fang, I’ve been paying attention to the Fang family as instructed. To be honest, based on what I’ve observed, I’m certain that the woman in the Fang House isn’t your birth mother. Likewise, your second uncle does not appear to resemble your father in the slightest. It seems like your mother has found a man outside to replace your father.”

Fang Xinxin glared at him. “What are you talking about!”

“I’m sharing this matter with your father.” Chi Minzhe waved his hand. “Regardless of whether he is able to hear us, I’ve seen too many cruel occurrences in my line of work. Personally, I would rather be a smart person who has to suffer some hurt, than a clueless fool. No matter if it’s me, or the helper that you’ve bribed, we’ve both obtained evidence that your mother is sleeping with Long Shuhai. Your father deserves to know the truth. Who knows, he could have been schemed by this cheating couple back then as well.”

Following his words, a tear abruptly rolled down Long Yifan’s cheek.

Fang Xinxin saw this and was startled. She called out in heartache. “Dad!”

“I...” Chi Minzhe covered his mouth as a hint of guilt appeared in his eyes. “Maybe it’s better to be a clueless fool. To think that my words caused him to cry. It seems like your father truly loves your mother very much.”

“My father must have heard you.” Fang Xinxin rushed to press the emergency button by Long Yifan’s bedside.

Soon enough, a doctor rushed into the room. “What happened?”

“Doctor, quickly take a look at my father. He cried!” Fang Xinxin made way for the doctor.

The doctor immediately conducted a careful examination on Long Yifan. “This is a good thing. The patient is showing signs of regaining consciousness.”

“When will he wake up?”

“We cannot be certain about that.” The doctor responded. “It could be very soon, but he could also remain unconscious forever.”

Fang Xinxin sat down on the chair next to the bed and held her father’s hand tightly to say. “Dad, you have to wake up!”

Chi Minzhe stayed for a little while longer before leaving.

Fang Xinxin gently retrieved a few strands of Long Yifan’s hair. She then removed a few strands of her own. After carefully labelling everything, she sent the five different samples for examination to Jia Ya Hospital’s DNA examination centre.

There were too many poisonous snakes in the Fang home. She needed to recognise the truth about all of them carefully.
