Chapter 57: Black Cat

Bai Qinghao did not pay any attention to Fang Manxue’s declaration. A hint of interest appeared on his face. “Why is she a black cat?”

“Because her heart is black, ah.” Fang Xinxin answered without pausing to hesitate.

Fang Manxue was frustrated. “Third Sister, what are you saying? You’ll make CEO Bai misunderstand me! How is my heart black? Tell me which other sister is kinder than me? I’ve been so worried about you during the past few days. Although I knew you would be safe by CEO Bai’s side, as your sister, I still couldn’t help but worry.”

“Your speaking is even more melodious than singing.”

“Third Sister, I’m your sister!” Fang Manxue appeared upset. “We have the same parents. Talking about your sister like this, it’s your heart that’s black!”

When Liu Li heard this, he stared at Fang Xinxin in disdain.

Bai Qinghao on the other hand, was expressionless. It wasn’t clear what thoughts he had about this.

“Oh, look. I only said a few words and you’ve already revealed your true colours. If you’re comparing the both of us, wouldn’t you be Abbess Mie Jue? [1. Abbess Mie Jue is a famous character in a novel. She is known for being practical, materialistic and cold-hearted.]”

“You know better than anyone that Bai Qinghao hates being betrayed, yet you repeatedly make false claims about me in front of him, saying that I love Bai Chenxi to the point of obsession. Aren’t you trying to get me into trouble?” Fang Xinxin’s expression was cold.

“I bet you dearly wish that Bai Qinghao would kill me in a fit of rage.”

Fang Manxue naturally agreed with those words. However, what she said was, “That’s not true. Everything I’ve said is the truth...” She turned toward Bai Qinghao sincerely.

“CEO Bai, my sister clearly said this to me in the past. She really, really loves Bai Chenxi!”

Fang Xinxin did not recall ever saying this to her. She turned and saw that Bai Qinghao’s expression was dark. His sharp gaze could barely contain his anger.

But she was unruffled. “Come on, Second Sister, what else have I said to you? Why don’t you use this opportunity to say everything to him.”

“You told me that you don’t love Bai Qinghao. You even said that if you weren’t afraid of his power, you would have ended your marriage contract with him long ago.” Fang Manxue continued dramatising her story fearlessly.

Bai Qinghao’s handsome face nearly twisted with rage. When he shifted his sharp gaze onto Fang Xinxin, she could feel his murderous intent.

If she really dared to admit that she loved Bai Chenxi, he would kill her!

Yet, Fang Xinxin continued standing in front of the nuzzle of the gun fearlessly. “Why wouldn’t I dare to admit it?”

Fang Manxue was elated at Fang Xinxin’s idiocy. To think she would say this openly.

Bai Qinghao clenched his fists tightly. The veins on his forehead appeared to be twitching from rage.

The entire villa seemed to become colder by several degrees.

Everyone began to tremble from the immense, intimidating aura emitting from him.

Fang Xinxin however, was fearless. “I, Fang Xinxin, have never done anything to be ashamed of. If I truly loved Bai Chenxi, I would definitely admit it. The problem is, I don’t love Bai Chenxi. How do you want me to admit this?”

Hearing her words, much of the frightening aura immediately dissipated from the room.

Fang Manxue became flustered. “Third Sister, that’s not what you said in the past...”

“I’ve never said any of those things to you before. What do you mean by, I like Bai Chenxi, I love Bai Chenxi, I love him to the point of obsession, and that I’ll fucking dissolve my marriage contract with Bai Qinghao... Should you really be slandering me like this?” Fang Xinxin was unruffled by the conflicting emotions around her.

She looked directly at Bai Qinghao. “Bai Qinghao, earlier, my second sister admitted that you’re the ideal partner she dreams of.”
