He wasn’t sure why but he felt a sense of closeness towards her. As though, even if he had to give the entire Long Group to Xinxin right now, he would be willing.

His sharp gaze then shifted towards the silent Bai Jingrou. Once more, he felt keenly that her intentions were impure.

He recalled that Bai Jingrou had provided her and her father’s, Long Xuan’s, hair.

He had a DNA test conducted with that along with his own hair and confirmed that her father was indeed his son. According to the results, she was also certainly her granddaughter.

“Even Fang Xinxin calls me Grandfather Long. You’re so impolite.”

Bai Qinghao was unfazed. He responded coldly. “If Director Long is unhappy, please feel free to leave.”

Long Jingyuan was speechless. He rubbed his beard and glared at him. “You… I won’t be petty with a junior.”

“Just because you are older, it doesn’t mean you can take advantage of your seniority.”

“You have a strong character.” Long Jingyuan did not become angry.

Instead, he praised him with a smile. He then sighed. “It’s a pity. If only you could become my grandson-in-law.”

Bai Jingrou suddenly blushed. She spoke shyly. “Grandfather…” She also wished she could marry Bai Qinghao.

Bai Qinghao glanced at Bai Jingrou’s shy and bashful expression. His gaze was filled with mocking. “I’m not interested in that granddaughter of yours.”

She originally assumed Long Jingyuan would stand up for her. However, she was unaware that even Long Jingyuan himself hoped for a different granddaughter. It was a pity that matters of blood relation could not be altered.

“It’s alright.” Bai Jingrou felt upset internally, but she supported Long Jingyuan to sit on the couch. “Grandfather, please sit down. You must be tired. I’ll massage your shoulders for you.”

Bai Qinghao lifted his wrist and checked the time. It was already midnight. He frowned. “Xinxin, go home and rest. It won’t be good if you attend our wedding with a pair of dark eye circles.”

“But Grandfather…” She spoke up in concern.

“I’ll stay by his side.” Bai Qinghao responded. “My parents will come by soon. I’ll go home to rest after.”

She nodded. “En. Then I’ll go next door to visit my father for a while before returning to the Fang family’s villa.”
