Raina was still standing in the conference room while Rohan was talking something about the same project.

Raina thought that now her work is over so she asked, "Sir, Can I get back at my job as now my work is over here?"

Adhiraj made a hand gesture to her saying, "Take a seat, Ms Kashyap. Now you are also a part of this project so you should be present in the meeting."

Raina was shocked.

What!? Part of the project?

Nonetheless, she took a spare seat beside Rohan.

The discussion was going on so she started noting down the main points. After one hour, the meeting was over.

Raina was going to exit along other persons but again a voice came, "Wait Ms Kashayp. Why are you in so much hurry?"

Raina again felt stupid, "No sir. I thought the meeting was over. So......"

She trailed her words and again sat on the chair. Only three of them were in the room.

Adhiraj said, "Taking things straight to the point. I want you to work on this project with full dedication. Things will be tough for you but it is the way one learns. "

Raina nodded her head but a question was arising in her mind.

She asked, "Sir, if you don't mind can I ask you something?"

Adhiraj nodded his head.

She asked, "Actually I am not an experienced person. Earlier I was doing my internship but the company was shifting so I applied here. My internship is still not completed. Don't you think it is too early for me to be engaged in such an important deal?"

Adhiraj looked at her and asked in his usual cold voice, "Do you find this work difficult?"

Raina thought for few seconds. She didn't think that tasks were too hard, nothing she couldn't handle. She nodded her head in no, "No sir. It's not that hard yet. "

Adhiraj again said, "Then what's the problem? Yeah, if you are afraid of the future challenges then tell me. "

She said quickly but with confidence, "No sir. I am not afraid. I am looking forward to all the hurdles."

Rohan said smiling, "That's the enthusiasm I like."

Adhiraj said, "Meeting is dismissed, you can go now."

Raina nodded and collect all her things ready to go.

Adhiraj said comparatively less intimidating tone, "By the way, your presentation was good. "

Raina looked at him thinking with lips pressed in straight line.

Now he remember to praise me.

Raina replied with a professional smile, "Thank you, sir. It means a lot coming from you."

With that, she exited the conference room.

Adhiraj frowned at her fake smiles. Over the years, he had mastered the art of reading people. He had noticed that Raina was not her usual self in front of them, all the smiles were fake, she got nervous but pulled up a confident facade.

He shook his head to remove her thoughts.

Raina walked to her desk still in a daze, thinking about all the happenings. She reached her place and slumped down on the chair.

Neha slid her chair next to her and asked, "Are you okay? Why did they call you?"

Raina filled her with the happenings but not too detailed, only a rough idea.

Neha was happy for her but Jatin was jealous. He was working for months here but Raina was getting more acknowledgement that too from the influential people. This was not sitting well with him. And the biggest thing was how a girl could defeat him or his big fat male ego.

Suddenly Raina's stomach made a grumbling sound but thank god nobody heard it except her new 'office buddy', that's what Neha named their relationship.

Neha giggled while Raina muttered, "Why am I feeling hungry?"

Neha said, "Because missy, you missed your lunch as you were busy with your meeting."

Then Raina realized that she didn't have her lunch. But again she started doing her work.

Neha asked confused, "Hey aren't you going to have something??"

Raina shook her head, "No dude. I have to complete this work. Moreover, I will have to go to another floor for food. And I don't want to waste my time."

Neha said disappointed, "It is not good to avoid food over work. It's very unhealthy."

With that, she got up and went somewhere. Raina looked at her retreating figure for a second. Neha behaves like Dia sometimes.

A smile crept on her face remembering her bestie who must be in the college giving lectures to the poor students.

If she would come to know that she didn't have her lunch she will come there and start lecturing Raina with a stick in her hand

After fifteen minutes, Raina was still engrossed in her work when she smells something good, it was the smell of melting cheese on which her stomach grumbled but she ignored it.

She was mentally cursing the person who brought that eatable thing there to make her already hungry stomach more hungry.

She felt something sliding on her table. She looked up and found Neha passing her a plate of a club sandwich and a mug of coffee.

She looked at Neha in a questioning manner.

Seeing her confused face Neha rolled her eyes and said, "You didn't want to leave your work so I brought them for you from the canteen. Seriously, you are such a workaholic."

Raina ignored her last sentence but smiled genuinely at her care for the first time. She took the plate and started munching on the sandwich.

It was tasting like heaven probably because she was hungry as hell. In five minutes she was finished with her sandwich and was sipping her coffee.

A question came out from her mouth, "Neha? Why do you care for me? See I noticed, you are trying to be a friend but I am not an outgoing person."

Neha smiled softly, "Actually, I am working here since last year, trust me it is not easy to work in an atmosphere where you don't have any companion to support you. I live in the suburbs of Mumbai. I don't have much friends here in this office. The girls in my department are interested in making fun of others more than working here. I saw that you are different, who minds her own business so...... I hope you get it."

Raina who was sipping her coffee was now looking at her with undivided attention. She didn't know what to say, the first time somebody said that to her. Mostly she didn't care to make friends, Raina was happy with the few friends she has.

She gave a small smile to her and thanked her for the coffee and sandwich. Neha returned to her work saying that she would not disturb her amidst of work.

Raina went near her bike in the parking lot but to her surprise, a man was sitting on her bike.

She said to the man, "Hey mister. Step down from my bike. I have to leave."

That man turned to her and said in a weird heavy voice, "What's the hurry babe?"

It was late evening means the sky was losing its dominance to the darkness of night and that part of the parking lot was not well enlightened. Raina felt that she knew that voice, it was familiar.

She asked apprehensively, "Why you are changing your voice deliberately? Do I know you?"

She can only see a small smile playing on his lips in that darkness, the rest of his face was covered with his dark red hoodie.

Her eyes widened in shock, "You.? What are you doing here??"

So who is this hoddie guy? 🤔

I hope our princess is not in danger.
