“Ah!!!”

In the early morning in the house of the extended Lu family, Lu Nuannuan’s trembling voice cut through the silence.

Yu Yang heard her scream and ran out in a hurry. He frowned as he stared at the scattered cardboard boxes and the lizard specimen lying on the ground. The specimen looked so realistic that the patterns on the outer skin could be seen. It made one’s scalp tingle uncontrollably.

Lu Nuannuan hid in Yu Yang’s arms with red eyes. Her whole body was trembling as she tugged at the hem of Yu Yang’s clothes.

“It must be Lu Qi. She’s trying to scare me on purpose!”

Yu Yang patted Lu Nuannuan’s shoulder gently to calm her down. Then, he bent down and picked up the greeting card beside the specimen. The words “I’m sorry” were written on it.

Lu Nuannuan’s dependence and weakness made Yu Yang feel protective in his heart. He recalled Lu Qi’s sarcastic words not long ago. He could not help but want to stand up for Lu Nuannuan. “Let’s go! I’ll go with you to the Lu family to demand an explanation!” Lu Nuannuan nodded with tears in her eyes. She bit her red lips and pretended to look up pitifully. “Will it affect you?” “Uncle Yu seems to be very… I’m fine. As long as I can be with you, I’m willing to endure these things.”

Yu Yang looked at the woman in his arms who was wronged but could not bear to make things difficult for him. His eyes were filled with love as he caressed her face. Then, he kissed Lu Nuannuan’s lips gently. He coaxed her gently, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll marry you!”

Lu Nuannuan got the answer she wanted and happily accompanied Yu Yang to the Lu family home.

Xie Jiao was about to tidy up the storage room of the villa when she found a dusty cardboard box that seemed to have been stored by Lu Qi.

The box was wrapped with heart-shaped tape. It seemed to be something very important.

Xie Jiao carried it to the living room, wanting Lu Qi to see if it should be kept.

Lu Qi stared at the cardboard box with a puzzled expression. Just as she was about to open it, she heard Yu Yang and Lu Nuannuan’s voices. She turned around and looked at the specimen of the lizard in Yu Yang’s hand. She frowned and asked, “Don’t you two have a home?”

“You come here every day. I feel a little nauseous just looking at your faces!”

Hearing Lu Qi’s malicious words, Yu Yang raised his hand and threw the specimen of the lizard in front of her. “What do you mean by this?”

Lu Qi picked up the specimen, dusted it lightly, and placed it on the coffee table with extra care, “It’s a gift for an apology. I bought this specimen from the museum of animal specimens. It’s very valuable for scientific research, and its value might rise in the future. I thought Lu Nuannuan would like something valuable…”

There was no flaw in her answer. Yu Yang hugged the silent Lu Nuannuan and could not help but want to refute her.

Lu Qi could not be bothered to listen to his criticism as she asked, “Do your parents know that you accompanied Lu Nuannuan here today? They sent me a message this morning, hoping that I can forgive you and reconsider the engagement between the two families.”

“If they knew about your current behavior, they would probably lock you up at home, right?”

Lu Qi said sarcastically. Lu Nuannuan’s gaze fell on the cardboard box. She still felt that it looked familiar.

When Xie Jiao wanted to step in and smooth things over for them, Lu Nuannuan deliberately opened the cardboard box and grabbed a stack of envelopes from it. “Lu Qi, you made it sound so heartless that I thought you really didn’t like Yu Yang anymore! But yet, you still kept the love letter you gave to Yu Yang!”

“Let me see… Tsk, ‘I can’t believe it, we’re getting engaged soon’?”.

Lu Nuannuan casually opened a letter and glanced at Lu Qi’s expression, reading it in a disgusting tone, “I’ve fantasized about our wedding countless times in my dreams. I yearned to marry you and be your bride. From the first time I saw you, I fell in love with

you…”

Yu Yang leaned his head over and looked at Lu Qi’s beautiful handwriting. Disdain and pride flashed across his eyes.

These mushy words and love letters were written by the original owner to Yu Yang. Every letter was like a diary, and she treasured them well.

Lu Qi felt a headache and wanted to snatch the love letters back. However, Yu Yang deliberately held them up high and shook them. “So, you love me so much?”

“Then, the words you said just now were all because you couldn’t get me. That’s why you hate me right?”

Yu Yang twisted the meaning behind Lu Qi’s words and smiled smugly. Lu Han heard the commotion in the living room and walked out of the study. When he saw the love letters in Yu Yang’s hands, he subconsciously looked at Xie Jiao. The two of them stood awkwardly on the spot, not knowing how to deal with their daughter’s relationship problems.
