"he's not interested?" lord dante didn't expect such a reply from faction leader bertram. he was looking forward to grey's performance, but for some reason, he's finding out that grey, probably one of the brightest sparks from the outside world, has refused to show them what he was made of.

faction leader bertram gave a weak nod. he has gotten used to grey by now to understand that he didn't want anything to do with this competition currently ongoing. in fact, there's a good chance that if he were not here, grey would've wanted to leave a long time ago. coming here wouldn't even have been possible, if not for the fact that he had a way to make grey come in the first place.

"isn't there a way to make him fight?" lord dante asked.

faction leader bertram thought for a while before replying, "well... he might be interested in a good reward."

grey clearly isn't one who does things that might not be of any interest to him. since the allure of cultivating in the essence vein wasn't enough for him to want to participate, then the only chance is to see if any of the rewards is enough to entice him.nôv(el)b\\jnn

"i know, i'm suggesting that if he knows what some of these rewards were, he wouldn't mind participating." faction leader bertram noticed that lord dante was insinuating that he was trying to get him to give grey a reward just for participating, so he cleared the air.

"you do know that we have multiple eighth stage sovereigns, and there are even a few in the ninth stage, yeah?" lord dante understood the meaning behind faction leader bertram's words and couldn't help but point out.

grey might be outstanding, but saying that there's a chance for him to enter the top ten while being a sixth stage sovereign in a place that had multiple sixth, seventh, and eighth stage sovereigns is quite unbelievable.

"what are the possible rewards, maybe there'll be something he wants among them." faction leader bertram knew just how lord dante and the other elders from the pyro faction felt as they heard his words, but he didn't care. he has seen what grey's capable of right from the days of the battle against the syphilis faction, so he knew that grey's strength shouldn't be attributed to his cultivation level.

the fact that grey was asking if there was a darkness elemental treasure means that he was confident that he would be able to get into the top ten.

getting into the top hundred, or even top forty might not be too difficult for grey, but the top ten is basically unachievable from lord dante's perspective.

seeing faction leader bertram nod his head, lord dante laughed and couldn't help but play along, "i have a variety of quality darkness elemental treasures. if he truly is able to get into the top ten, then i'll personally take him there and let him pick anyone of his choosing."
