Chapter 296 Not Interested in Guessing When Serina heard the familiar voice, she calmed down a little. She stopped her crazy actions. She intend to smash the pillow to the ground, but she stopped. She looked at Manuel blankly. Her eyes were full of vigilance. When she confirmed that the person was Manuel, the vigilance in her eyes slowly disappeared.
âManuel?â she called out tentatively.
The sorrow in Manuelâs eyes slowly receded, replaced by gentleness. âSerina, itâs me, Iâm Manuel.â
He slowly walked to Serina. He was afraid of stimulating Serina, so he slowed down his steps. When he walked to her, he slowly removed the cup from her left hand.
I âSerina, look at my face. I am your brother.â
âManuel?â she murmured. Her expression suddenly became strange, âLying! You want to kill me, right? You want to eat me, right?â When saying the word âeatâ, Serina seemed to recall the most horrible memory.
Her expression changed drastically. She crouched down and curled up. She placed her hands on her head and said pitifully, âDonât eat me. Donât!â
Manuel looked at his sister with pity and put his hand on her shoulder. âSerina, donât be afraid. I will protec you.â
âYou lied. You said you would protect me, but you didnât come. Ainsley was eaten and you didnât come. You lied to us!â Serina cried loudly.
When Manuel heard Serinaâs words, his eyes narrowed. âSerina! Ainsley is fine now. She hasnât been eaten.
âNo!â
Serina looked at Manuel crazily. She suddenly pulled up her sleeves and took a bite of her injured arm.
Before Manuel could react, she had already left a large wound on her arm.
âSerina!â Manuel shouted, âLet go!â
He held Serinaâs chin and wanted to move her mouth away.
However, Serina clenched her teeth so tightly that Manuel couldnât move at all.
Manuel had no choice but to forcefully part her teeth and restrain her. âSerina! Wake up!â
Serinaâs words were too terrifying. Even Manuel couldnât help but think of the ****scene that he had seer before. The scene had been engraved into his heart.
The commotion was too loud. Koen walked over. John also ran in a panic.
âSerina!â Koen stared at Serina nervously.
John trembled and said, âMr. Manuel, should we call the doctor?â
âCall Ainsley! Call Ainsley over!â Manuel said coldly.
Chanter John glanced at Koen. âMr. Gage...â
Manuel also looked at Koen. The latter finally said in a low voice, âItâs time! Go! Bring her over directly.â
John nodded and hurriedly ran out of the door.
At the Eastonâs home.
Ainsley had just gotten out of the car. After coming out of Manuelâs office, she went to PineMist Island to check up on the project before returning home.
Before she opened the door, she heard a familiar voice behind her.
âMs. Easton,â
She looked back and saw Irene coming out of a pink Lamborghini with unusual malice in her eyes.
âWhat is it?â Ainsley looked at Irene expressionlessly.
âI want to talk to you.â
Ainsley shook her head. âBut I donât want to talk to you. There is nothing to talk about between us, Ms. Wade.â
The smile on Ireneâs face instantly disappeared. She revealed a malicious expression. âAinsley, donât you know why I came here?â
Ainsley took a nonchalant glance at Irene. âIâm not interested in guessing.â
âDonât look for Manuel anymore. Havenât you learned anything from previous lessons?â Ireneâs face was ashen.
Ainsley sneered, âAre you threatening me now? I went to find Manuel for Serinaâs sake.â
âNo matter what it is, since Manuel and Koen wonât let you treat Serina, you should be silent and never appear in front of them,â Irene said fiercely.
Ainsley narrowed her eyes and suddenly approached Irene. The tip of her nose almost hit Ireneâs face. A chill rose from the bottom of Ireneâs heart.
âDonât you think you are a little too nosy? Irene, not everything has to be under your control. Serina is my friend, so I have to do something if something happens to her.â
Irene laughed sarcastically, âDonât be funny, Ainsley. Koen and Manuel found dozens of psychological doctors for Serina. All of them are famous. Do you think you will be more professional than them? Are you doing this for Serina or to use Serina to get close to Manuel?â
âShut up. There are many professionals. Serina has always been treated by me. No one knows her situation better than I do. As for Manuel, I have already broken up with him. I will not change my mind. There is no need for you to be so afraid,â Ainsley said coldly.
Irene laughed wildly, âAh, am I afraid? You donât know yet, right? Manuel has already promised my grandfather that he will be engaged to me, so donât think about separating us. He is no longer someone you can take fancy to.â
Ainsleyâs eyes narrowed. Ireneâs words echoed in her ears. Did Manuel agree to the engagement with Irene?
Even though Ainsley was not sure, she understood that the marriage between the Gage family and the Wade family was an agreement established in the early years.
It was Ainsley who chose to give up on Manuel? Why did she feel sad when she heard the news?
âI see, but this has nothing to do with me.â Ainsley did not want to talk to Irene and turned to leave.
A black Cayenne suddenly stopped. John pushed open the door and came out of the car. He looked at Ainsley in panic. âMs. Easton! Ms. Gage is sick. Mr. Gage asked me to take you over quickly.â
âWhat happened to Serina?â Ainsleyâs heart ****a beat.
âItâs going to be late. You go with me first.â John immediately opened the car door for Ainsley.
Irene, who had been ignored, did not show weakness and entered the car. âIâll go with you.â
The car drove quickly in the direction of the Gageâs home. Before it stopped properly, Ainsley pushed the door open and got out.
She followed John into Serinaâs room and saw Manuel holding Serina tightly. Serina gritted her teeth on his shoulder. Manuelâs white shirt was stained with blood.
Ainsley hurriedly walked over and soothed Serina, âSerina, I am Ainsley. Donât be nervous, okay?â
A gentle voice entered Serinaâs ears. The next second, she released her teeth and looked at Ainsley in a daze.
The wariness in Serinaâs eyes slowly receded. âAinsley?â
Serina seemed to have regained her senses. She relaxed as she approached Ainsley step by step. Then she held Ainsleyâs hand. âAinsley, you werenât eaten!â
Irene walked in. When she heard that, the corners of her mouth curved into a strange smile.
Manuel did not miss this. He walked over and blocked Ireneâs sight.
