Chapter 41

Third person's P.O.V.

"Excuse me, what?" Dušica asked while whipping her tears.

"I'm Sarah" girl said and walked over the grave, she knelt down and left roses there. She caressed picture of Alex and looked back up at two other girls. "You look exactly like she used to describe you" Sarah said while wind blew her brown hair and Dušica shook her head in disbelief.

Sarah sighed and smiled "I figured you wouldn't believe me, if we ever met so maybe this will help you to trust me" she said and pulled out necklace from her sweater and over her head "Here" she said and gave it to Dušica.

"Oh my god" younger girl gasped and kneeled down while watching ring she gave her sister for her sixteenth birthday. 'Big monkey' was carved on it. Tears running down all over again.

"She was cooking us some dinner one day at my place, and accidentally cut her finger so blood was going down her hand"

"That sounds like her, she was really clumsy though" Dušica said and chuckled.

"Yeah" Sarah said with smile while remembering her love "yeah, she was. But she cared so much about that ring that she immediately took it off just so she could wash hed hands of blood and she forgot it at my place."

"I remember" Dušica mumbled "day before the accident she come home and we soon realized she wasn't wearing her ring and she literally freaked out until she called her friend" she said and looked up to see Sarah smiling then she shook her head in disbelief and smiled as well "who told her that ring was with them"

"Babe, what happened with your hand?" Sam asked. She haven't spoke since Sarah came.

"Oh, it's nothing" Dušica said and Sam shook her head "it's definitely not 'nothing' let me see"

She kneeled next to Dušica and took her hand in hers. It was all bloody and Dušica hasn't even realized how much it hurts until now.

"Damn, babe this is deep. We should take you to doctor to check it out" she said honestly concerned.

"No need, I'll just put bandage on, when we cone to hotel or something don't worry okay?" Dušica said with smile, Sam was ready to protest but Sarah's voice cute them off.

"You guys are just so cute together" she said with big smile which made both girls blush. "Anyway, you should really go now, but I'd really want to meet with you after to grab a coffee or something."

"Yeah, that would be great, where would you like to meet?"

"Meet me at yours and Alex's favorite place at four, okay?" Sarah asked with smile and Dušica tilted her head aside but decided not to ask anything.

"Here" Dušica said and gave her back Alex's ring.

"Are you sure you don't want to keep it?" she asked politely but you could see she really wanted to keep it.

Dušica bit her lip before answering "I think its place is with you" she said and put it Sarah's hand.

"Come on babe" Sam said gently and Dušica nodded.

They walked away, leaving Sarah alone with love of her life.

Dušica's P.O.V.

I was sitting on bathroom sink zooming out per usual. I washed and dried my hands and now I was supposed to put the bandage on but I'm too lost in my thoughts.

"Babe, do you need help?" Sam asked and peeked through door which made me smile.

"Nah, I'm fine" I mumbled but she was already in front of me.

She took bandages from me and stood between my legs. She gently took my hand and looked at me then tilted her head.

"Why are you smiling?" she asked while smile appeared on her face as well.

"Because you are so cute" I said and kissed her nose.

She shook her head and giggled.

"Babe, I told you these are too deep, we should really go see a doctor." she said concerned. Blood already started appearing on my hand again.

"Trust me, there's no need" I said and she sighed.

"You always have to be this stubborn, don't you" she asked and I shrugged while smirking.

My mind wandered of again and suddenly Sam cupped my cheeks.

"You zoomed out. What are you thinking about?" she asked, her hands now on my hips.

"It's just kinda disappointed and sad to think that Alex couldn't trust me enough to tell me about Sarah"

"I don't think it has to do anything with trust" she said with smile.

"How comes?"

"So, you and I are together, right?" she asked with smirk and I wrapped my arms around her neck.

"Damn straight" I said with nod and she chuckled.

"Would you tell Alex?"

"Of course I would" I said and tilted my head, where is she going with this?

"Would you be scared of her reaction?" she asked and I nodded. "And why?"

"Because she means so much to me and I don't know how I'd deal with fact that she doesn't support me, but still I'd want her to be part of something this beautiful in my life you know. But on the end of the day I think she would definitely be okay with that, because she always was supportive of all the choices I've made." I said with smile.

"But there still was doubt, right?"

"Yeah"

"And why's that?" she asked with her smile growing bigger.

"Okay okay I see where this is going" I said and pecked her lips "So, you think she felt the same way?"

"Absolutely" she said and nodded "I think, deep down she knew you'd be fine with that but there is always 'what if' and that what if can screw us big time sometimes" she said and I laughed.

"You are amazing, baby" I said and cupped her face kissing her slowly.

"I know" she said and we both laughed.

"I'm so lucky to have you in my life" I said and kissed her collarbone. She moaned softly and I smiled against her skin.

"I'm hungry" she mumbled.

"Me too" I said and pulled away "Let's go have a lunch" I jumped off of sink and walked out of the bathroom.

"I didn't - I didn't mean that!" she yelled from the bathroom and I laughed.

Well we ended up having lunch anyway, because she was hungry as well so... what can I do.

Also she decide it would be best if I go alone to meet Sarah and she would just watch tv or sleep until I come back. I dressed and kissed her before leaving.

"Take care" she said and I smiled.

"I will baby, you too" I said and pecked her lips one more time before leaving.

Once outside of hotel I put my earphones on, but couldn't decide should I play something from BTS or Fall out boys so I just put it on shuffle.

Walk to coffee shop was about 30 minutes long. I stood in front of entrance and bit my lip. I took deep breath and pulled the door. Once in, I was hit by smell of coffee and tea. I looked around and saw Sarah sitting next to window. She saw me and waved. I walked towards her and sat down.

"Hi, I hope you didn't wait too long" I said and she shook her head.

"I just came in as well"

There was silence for few moments and then waitress came to us. She took our orders and walked away.

"So" Sarah said "I guess there is a lot you wanna talk about"

"Well, first of all, how old are you?" I asked and she laughed.

"I'm nineteen" she said and I nodded, so she is same age as Alex.

"I don't really remember you from school, so how did you two meet?"

"So I was having this important meeting for a job one day you know, and I was walking down the streets and suddenly when I walked around the corner I bumped into someone and something hot splashed all over me. I almost fell down but your sister caught me. She started apologizing because she ruined my shirt and I was covered in hot coffee but I literally didn't feel anything because I just stared at her. God, she was so gorgeous, I totally forgot about job interview. She said she had extra shirt in her car, I didn't want it at first but she was persistent and with that 'that's the least I can do' we went to her car. " she said and I laughed.

"That really do sound like her. God she was so clumsy, I got that from her" I said and she chuckled.

"I thought so" she said and I opened my mouth in shock. We both laughed and waitress come back to us with our orders.

"Anyway, it was pretty awkward you know, I had to change in her car and I swear to god I could feel her eyes on me whole time, but even when we started dating she didn't want to admit it" Sarah said and rolled her eyes with smile "I thanked her and started walking away. I remember exactly that, I didn't even make three steps before I turned around and come back to her. She was leaning on her car with her arms crossed like she knew I would come back. I asked for her number, don't freak out I'm not that brave, I was exactly like 'Oh can I get your number, uh so I can give you your shirt back' and she took my phone with smirk 'yeah, for shirt' she said and then I left."

I laughed and she drank her coffee "woah, that was smooth" I joked and she nodded.

"Like day after I called her and we met and I even totally forgot to bring her shirt with me, it's still at my place, simple white tee that easily become my favorite. Anyway, two days after that we had our first date, soon after that first kiss and things just moved really quickly for us."

"How long have you been together" I asked and she smiled before answering "For six months, but I loved her more than I have ever loved anyone in my life"

"Wow, she literally hid it from me for six months" I said and Sarah reached out for my hand that was in bandages on table.

"You have no idea how many times she wanted to tell you. She used to talk about you all the time, I have never seen someone love their siblings as much as you two do. She really loved you so much"

"I know" I said with smile. "I know"

"She was scared of your opinion and I really wanted to meet you because she always talked the best about you. So one day she was about to tell you, you had some bonding time or something like that but she just couldn't do it. She came to me crying and I didn't really want to push her, you know" she said and I nodded.

"I'm glad I met you, maybe not in this way but anyway" I said and she smiled " I knew my sister always had good taste in everything" she laughed and nodded "I know right!" she added and we both laughed.

"How did you find out that - about what happened?" I asked and gulped.

She pulled her hand away from mine and leaned back on her seat.

"She was supposed to come day after accident so we could have movie night and she could get her ring back, but she wasn't there. It was really weird because she never forgot our dates, although she never go to bed without calling to wish good night, but I thought that maybe she forgot or something you know. Maybe she was just tired or she couldn't find her phone, that used to happen sometimes. But two days after and I couldn't reach her, I was calling but nothing, so I decided to call your home number. When I did some girl answered and I said I was Alex's friend and I really needed to talk to her but I couldn't get he on her phone. Girl just started crying and she told me what happened. I was freaking out, my heart broke, it kept breaking day after day. I didn't believe at first but then I found her grave and everything just faded away. It's been two years but it still hurts like the day one" she said and I nodded, you could see pain in her brown eyes and I felt even worse.

"God, I miss her so much" I said and looked away.

"I know, I miss her too" she said and sighed "I miss how she used to make me feel, I miss how she always brought the best in me, how she used to come and surprise me, always make me smile and laugh even when I was sad. It's just, I wish we had more time"

"I feel you" I said and she smiled, she knew I felt the same way and you could see she was glad someone was there to grief with her.

We chatted some more. I got to knew her better, she is in collage. Law is her major so I guess if I ever need a lawyer, right? She is single, haven't dated since Alex and honestly that makes me sad. Now when I think what would I do without Sam in my life, I don't know how to answer, I guess I'll just die probably. We talked about me as well, I told her we moved to New York, and that we are there now, we talked a little about my parents and stuff like that .

We agreed she'll walk me to hotel I'm staying in because her apartment is near. We walked out of coffee shop, and I swear to god, I really love her company. She's nice, funny and it feels good to have someone to talk to.

"You know, you may not look much like her, but you talk, laugh and even move like her" she whispered and I blushed.

"People always used to tell us we are almost same. Not physically but mentally, and our personalities were pretty same"

"I can see that" she said with smile "anyway, won't you tell me something about your girl?" she asked and elbowed in my ribs gently which made us both laugh.

"Well she is the best thing that could happen to me, you know. I think she was the one to bring me back to life. She is so caring, and cute. People call her ice queen in school, you know, but she is nothing like that. She fought her own battles, but she got over it. We both are pretty messy you see, but maybe that's one thing that brought us together" I said and she smiled.

"Wow, this baby is in love" she whinnied and put her arm around my shoulders.

"Well what can I do. I mean, you saw her" I pointed out and she nodded.

"Yes, I did, she's gorgeous, but so are you, please don't forget that" she told me and I laughed. "Anyway, how did you guys meet?"

"Well she was going to school which I attend now, she was in group of my best friend's friends. I felt some strong connection towards her since the moment our eyes met for the first time."

"Woah, so love at the first sight?" She asked and I nodded "Is she treating you right?" she asked again and I looked at her weirdly and she put her arms up in defense. "I'm just asking things your sister would like to know" she said and I laughed.

"Of course. She is amazing, always so supportive of everything and patient with me, so yeah, she's treating me better than right" I said and she smiled.

"That's important. Anyway, I heard about your project Alexandra"

I gulped and looked at her "What do you think? Do you like it?" I don't know why, but I cared about her opinion.

"I think it's amazing, really. These girls are lucky to have someone like you on this world. All the things you're doing for people, just trying to make this world a better place for everyone, is amazing. She would be proud" she said and smiled at me "I know I definitely am"

I laughed "Well, that's important as well"

I like her, I really do. Talking with her is making me feel better. But, unfortunately we were too soon in park that is across the street from hotel

"Do you want to come in?" I asked and she shook her head.

"I can't" she said "But promise we all will go for dinner before you go, okay?

"Of course!" I said and she hugged me.

"I'm really glad I finally met you, baby" she said and kissed top of my head.

"Pleasure is mine" I said and she laughed and shook her head in disbelief "You two are the same"

She walked away and I sat down on bench. I took out my phone and saw it was already 7pm. I called Sam. It rung two times before she answered.

"Hello?" she asked with her 'just woke up' voice, guess she didn't even see who was calling.

"Hey babe, did I work you up?" I asked even though I know I did.

"No, you didn't" she lied and I laughed.

"Okay baby, whatever you say. I am in parking across the street. Wanna come?"

"I'll be right there" she said and I could literally hear smile in her voice.

It took hee only few minutes until she was here.

"Hello, gorgeous" I stood up and brought hee close to me. "I missed you" I whispered and she giggled.

"Oh, did you now?" she asked and I nodded.

We sat down and she put her head on my shoulder.

"How was it?" she asked.

"It was nice, we talked about Alex, some random stuff, got to know each other. It was really nice. What did you do?"

"I watched Riverdale"

"Without me?" I gasped and pouted which made her laughed.

"Babe, we watched whole season together, I literally just re-watched some episodes." she said and kissed my cheek.

"Let me guess, all with Choni scenes" I asked and she pulled away "How did you know?" She gasped and we both laughed.

I kissed her and she smiled into kiss "I guess I just know you too well"

We stayed there for a bit longer, just talking about random stuff. Just when we were about to leave something unexpected happened.

"Dušica?" someone's voice come from behind us, we turned around "Oh my god! It's you" Charlie gasped and literally run towards me. He hugged me tightly and lifted me up from the ground.

"Charlie, let me down!" I laughed and he did what I told him. He kissed my cheek and smiled brightly. "I missed you so much"

"I missed you too bro" I said with smile. "This is Sam" I said and she waved awkwardly.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you" he said and shook her hand, she didn't say anything, typical Sam, I wanted to laugh but something in Charlie's expression made me change my mind.

"What's wrong? You look sad."

"I just broke up with my girlfriend" he said and looked away "She said I was still into my ex"

"Oh come on, it's her loss" I said "You know you are the best guy I have ever met. She doesn't realize what she could have" he looked up at me and smiled.

"God, I wish I never let you go. But I knew all the things you have been through so I didn't want to pressure you. I thought I was doing best thing for you by letting you go, but I miss you so much." I saw Sam clenching her fist and I quickly took her hand in mine. "Would you, please give me one more chance, please" he asked and I shook my head.

"I'm sorry, Charlie but I'm with someone else"

"Oh my god, sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't know. I thought, I thought you are still single" he mumbled ashamed.

"It's okay, don't worry about that" I said and he smiled "So who is the lucky guy"

I think Sam and I rolled our eyes at same time "Lucky girl, is Sam" I said and his eyes went wide and his jaw on the floor.

"God, sorry" he said this more to Sam "this must have been awkward"

"Yeah" Sam mumbled.

"Anyway, I should go now" he said embarrassed "please call me so we can grab a coffee or something while you are here. Bye, Sam it was nice to meet you. Treat this girl right, okay if you don't there is plenty of people who will" he added and walked away.

"Well, that was awkward" I said and Sam walked away. "Hey" I ran after her but she ignored me. "Okay so you are not going to talk to me now?" I asked and she nodded "because of this?" Nodding again... "Oh come on, it's not my fault" I whinnied and pouted.

She looked at me and quickly looked away, but not before I could see smile forming on her lips.

"You loveee me" I kinda sung and she turned around grabbing me by my waist and bringing me into her.

"I do" she whispered and kissed me deeply.

Kiss that said you are mine, and I'm yours and nothing's going to change it.
