"Hi Mum." I sat at her bedside, staring down at her. When the accident happened, she took the brunt of it, being on the driver side.

"Your wife misses you. We all do. She told me to tell you high." I squeezed her unresponsive hand and looked at her peaceful face.

The accident happened when I was 8 months pregnant. I had to go for tests as my blood pressure was high and we wanted to be safe. Mum drove me since Jessica had to drop the kids off at school.

The appointment itself went amazing, the doctor was happy with everything and with my test results. When we drive home though, a drink driver in an SUV drive through the stop sign and hit the driver's side.

Mum took most of the hit and we were both rushed to hospital. She suffered major brain damage amongst other things and had a stroke which had left her comatose for 9 months.

I had a miscarriage and lost my precious baby girl but I still had to deliver as I was already so far into the pregnancy.

We cremated Amber Alison Chase and her ashes will be buried in the Chase family plot in a cemetery in California when we are ready to say goodbye to our baby girl. For now, her beautiful urn sits in our home.

"We miss you Alice, especially Dana." Jessica said from behind me, her hands on my shoulders.

The accident was hard on her because she blamed herself for not being the driver. According to her, it should have been her. But I'm glad it wasn't her because she was driving the kids and that would mean they could possibly be hurt too.

"We're going to go visit Amber and Mum should come by to see you soon." I said stroking her hand with the back of my thumb.

I placed a kiss on her hand and got up to leave, but noticed a doctor standing outside the room.

"Mrs Chase, a word?" I nodded and walked towards him with Jessica.

"We ran a few tests on Alice this week and it seems brain activity is picking up. Along with minor movements in her right arm. Now I don't want us to get our hopes 3 up but this is good news." before I could ask him any more questions, he walked off and into another patient's room.

"Did you hear that Jessica? Brain activity is picking up." I turned to her and she was smiling back at me.

"I heard. Now come on, I have a day planned." she grabbed my hand and we walked out of the home to the car.

"I don't think I can go see her today." I said as soon as we jumped in car.

"That's okay, we can go to dinner early and get started with our plans."

I smiled and leaned against the window.

After dinner, the mood turned lighter and before I knew it, I was sitting across from her having dessert.

My head thrown back and my worries lifted, temporarily. It felt good to be this relaxed after everything.

"This dessert is almost as delicious as you Andy." she said licking off the spoon and it gave me images of other things she could be licking.

I blushed hard and took another bite of the delicious chocolate dessert.

"I love you Andy. I haven't said it nearly enough since we lost our baby and I'm sorry. But I love you so much." I looked back in her eyes and smiled. I loved this woman, I absolutely adored every part of her.

"Finish up your dessert, I have a night planned for us and you'll need your energy for it." she winked at me and went to the front desk to pay our bill while I was left to imagine what exactly she had planned.

I swallowed the last bit of dessert and joined my wife, linking my arm with hers. She smiled over me and kissed my head before we walked out to the car.

She drove us to a nearby hotel, a very expensive hotel, and when I tried to argue it she just said that her woman deserved only the best.

That obviously made me swoon even more for her.

"Go ahead baby, I'll meet you in the room." I tell Jessica as I walk further into the hallway to the vending machine at the end of it.

I got myself a candy bar and got a few other snacks for Jessica and I to share throughout our night tonight.

When I walked back into the room, Jessica was undoing her shirt and I was eager to see the delicious view underneath it.

So eager infact that I hurried over, dropping the snacks in the process, to help her.

Without any words spoken, I undid her shirt and unclasped her bra.

She wordlessly did the same to me and we spent the night tumbling around the sheets, moaning each others names.
