"Okay she's on her way here, just please don't embarrass me. That's all I ask." Taylor practically snapped at us from across the table.

"Relax sweetheart. Your mum and I promise not to embarrass you too much." the petrified look that crossed her face when I said this almost made me laugh aloud.

Today is a very important day, Taylor is ready for us to meet her girlfriend. Their name is Eli and they use They/them pronouns.

They've been dating for about a month now and Eli wanted to meet her parents, much it our Taylor's chagrin.

"Here they come. Pleaseeee don't embarrass me." Taylor urged and shot us a pointed look before she went to meet Eli at the front of the restaurant.

She hugged them and held their hand as they both walked towards the table.

"Mums. This is Eli, my girlfriend. Eli, These are my mums. Jessica on the right and Andy on the left. My brother is with my granny now but you'll meet those two eventually."

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. Tay talks about you all the time and it's amazing to finally meet you in person."

They pulled the chair out for Taylor and sat down next to her, taking her hand in theirs.

"I know Tay was really nervous about us meeting. I have no reason why because you guys are wonderful people."

Jessica finally stopped looking at Eli with a cold stare and instead smiled at them.

"I'm just happy Taylor found a person who makes her happy and takes care of her. She couldn't have chosen a better partner."

"Thank you Mrs Chase. It means alot to me that you think that." they smiled at Jessica and I grinned internally.

"I hope you don't mind that we ordered for you. Taylor told us what you preferred and so we ordered it." I said looking at Eli.

"That's okay Mrs Chase, I don't mind at all. Thank you."

They are incredibly polite and I'm elated that my baby girl found someone with manners.

''I quite had fun today and I have to say that I really like Eli. They're not what I expected for this new generation. I mean they didn't even check their phone the two hours we were there.'' Jessica said from the mirror where she was taking off her jewelry.

I looked up from my kindle to make eye contact with her through the mirror and my breath caught in my throat staring at her. No makeup. wearing just a t-shirt and boxers which happen to belong to me. Her hair a little tousled from undoing the French braid it was in all day. All of that and she is definitely the most beautiful woman in my eyes.

I'm so happy she walked into my restaurant all those months ago. She's h]made me the luckiest woman alive and i will spend the rest of our life together showing her just how much I appreciate and love her.

She started walking to our bed and the way her hips swayed as she walked had my hands itching to touch her. To feel the warmth of her skin under my fingertips. To feel her quivering under me as she screams my name in pleaser. But unfortunately I am absolutely exhausted today and all I want to do is bury my face in her flawless neck while her strong arms held me against her. I love doing that with her, just lying in each others arms and being at peace.

I placed my kindle down on the nightstand and opened my arms as she got into bed, immediately rolling into my embrace. Her skin was warm to my touch and her hair smelt of cinnamon and made me want to bury my face in it. She placed all her gorgeous hair to one side gibing me a clear view of her bare neck and I couldn't resist not placing a tender kiss to the exposed skin.

''We should go somewhere as a family. Maybe a cabin or something just to get away from the city for a few days. It would be lovely don't you think baby?'' I could tell from the way her voice sounded that she was tired but she did have a good idea.

''That's a fantastic idea sweetheart. We could invite Eli and have Alec bring a friend. I'll look out for places and we can take a week away.'' I hope she wouldn't have a problem with the kids bringing along friends but I think it would be really nice and I know a few websites that have good deals on holiday destinations.

''That would be really nice yes but threes no need to go looking around. I have a cabin. We have one. Its near Washington and absolutely beautiful.'' she turned around, a smile on her face and eyes trained on my lips.

She leaned in and kissed me.

''I sort of forgot about it until lunch. But I would love to go there with you and our family.''

''Eli and a Alec's friend too. Don't forget about them.'' I added incase she forgot because I know ow much it would mean to Taylor if we included Eli in family events.

''I wouldn't dare.''

She gave me one last peck on the cheek and turned back around in my arms before unceremoniously falling asleep. Her breathing evened out and she started snoring lightly which was a tell tale sign of hers that she was asleep. Although if you asked her she'd vehemently deny ever snoring.

I wrap my arms around my wife and follow her lead, falling asleep next to the love of my life.
