''I hope everyone packed warm because it is going to be freezing and I promised all your parents I'd get you home in one piece. And Alec get down from there!'' I am super excited to see this cabin and also a little concerned seeing as Alec just climbed a tree to impress his friends.

Jessica walked out wearing tights that made her ass look incredible.

Dammit not time for those kinds of thoughts. Maybe alter when we're alone at the cabin but not right now before our very long road trip in front of our children.

''Alright everyone get in, it's time to hit the road.''

I waited until everyone loaded up into the mini bus that we rented out. Alec and his friend chose the seats behind the front seats, Eli and Tay took the ones behind them and we stuffed our luggage for the week long trip at the back.

''Are you sure you don't want to come with us Mum? There's plenty of space for you.'' Mum decided to stay back and catch up on her reading and relaxing without all us 'kids'.

''I'm sure honey. Go and enjoy yourself and I'll stay over here with your Mother and keep the house in check.'' she kissed my cheek and I had no doubt that she'd be spending the next week at the care center next to her wife.

''Okay. I love you and tell her that I love her too and I'll be there to see her as soon as we get back.''

Jess started getting impatient and hooted for me to hurry up and so with one final hug, I got in the mini bus and we started the drive.

Jessica held my hand the entire drive which made me feel loved and cared for. Every time I look at her I'm reminded of how much I love and adore her and I know I will never get tired of her.

''So Eli, you and Taylor will sleep in separate rooms for now but maybe down the line we'll let you bunk together. When we get there I'll need to go grocery shopping and you can come with me while everyone else unpacks and gets settled. We're going to need a lot of food and taking those three means the cart gets loaded up with shit we don't need.''

I freed my hand from hers to smack her across the chest as I laughed a little.

''Babe no swearing in front of the children.'' I said quickly while she stifled a laugh.

''I'm 16, that's not exactly a child.'' Taylor said while staring out of the window. I could see a small smile on her face.

''Oh honey we've heard how you get when you're playing video games. She was talking about your brother at the back but I think he's in his own world.''

''Baby being in the same room as you when you're gaming is scary as hell. You get so mad, especially when you're losing but it's okay because it's cute.''

I watched Eli lean over and kiss my daughter in her cheek and I watched her blush when they did that. She looked genuinely happy and that made me happy.

We filled the rest of our road trip with singing to the playlist taylor made and playing games.

Somewhere along the way everyone fell asleep and the rest of our trip was in silence which was fine by me since I held my wife's hand the entire time.

The feeling of being so content with someone that sitting in silence makes you feel loved and safe, that feeling is amazing and I love it.

When we finally got to the cabin the words were taken from my mouth. It was absolutely stunning. When Jess said cabin I was picturing something from a horror story not the absolute beauty infront of me.

''Its beautiful right.'' Jess whispered in my ear as she passed by. I smiled and nodded as if she could I see me with her back faced towards me. I grabbed the last few things in the car and headed inside, admiring the view all the way in. Inside was even more stunning. The floor was open plan style with amazing décor. Expensive looking paintings lined the walls and a plush and soft looking carpet took up most of the floor.

''I had a housekeeper in to clean up before we got here. There are fresh sheets in all the beds and all the gas fireplaces are ready to be lit.''

The boys dashed off to find their rooms leaving Jessica, Taylor, Eli and I alone.

''Our room is upstairs. The only room upstairs. Your rooms are down the all over there.'' Jessica pointed to the hall opposite from the direction Alec ran. That meant we all had a good level of privacy seeing as we're all so far apart from each other.

''So while we sort these things out, a little history about this cabin. It was built by my great great grandfather for his mistress to live in while he was with his wife. It has been passed down through the generations. My grandfather demolished the original structure when he inherited it and rebuilt the current structure. An open plan kitchen, dining room and living room with 3 hallways that lead to bedrooms downstairs and the master bedroom upstairs. I renovated about 2 years ago and turned two of the bedrooms into a gaming area and added smart light fixtures and gas fireplaces. so it is a five bedroom and 3 bathroom cabin. That's about it. Why don't we go settle in and meet back here in an hour to leave?''

She didn't wait for a response, just picked up our bags and headed for our bedroom.

''I'm exhausted from the drive so I'm going to take a short nap, I'll catch you kids later.'' I said to Eli and Taylor before following my wife's footsteps to our room for the next few days.
