"Thank you for today bubs."

"I had fun angel. Alec and Taylor are amazing kids."

"They really are."

After ice cream we walked around the mall. The 2 of them were passed out at the back while we were parked outside the apartments.

"So uh. Do you wanna uh go out on a date with me?"

"I would love to."

I looked back to the kids who were still knocked out.

I pulled her into a sweet kiss, relishing in her sweet taste that I've grown addicted to.

"Goodnight Jessy."

"Goodnight Andy. Need any help with the kids?"

"No no. Go home."

She nodded and kissed me again while I got the kids. I picked Alec up and woke up Taylor who thanked us and went to her apartment.

I put Alec to bed and got changed and into the air mattress bed Jess left behind.

I opened my phone and saw messaged from her;

Jessica Chase: Hey there beautiful 🥺. It's Jess incase the name didn't ring any bells.

Jessica Chase: Just wanted to let you know I'm home safely.

I saved her as 'Jessy❤️' and started a conversation with her.

Heyy Jessy🥺.

That's great 🥺❤️.

Jessy❤️: Yes yes it is. So let's carry on asking questions until one of us passes out?

Jessy❤️: Okay uhhhhh. Triangles or squares?

If you had to save one item, what would it be and why?

Jessy❤️: my phone and wallet would probably be in my pocket. My laptop. It has everything on it.

Jessy❤️: I have an early day tomorrow. I just realised I have a court appearance. So I'll be going to bed now. Goodnight Andy. Sleep well beautiful.

I switched my phone off and snuggled in bed with Mr giggles, thinking about our date tomorrow night.

Waking up after a good night's rest is the best. I got up early. Made Alec breakfast and got him ready for school before sending him off with Taylor. I sent Jess a message to wish her luck in court and told her to call or message when she's done.

I spent the day managing my expenses and trying to minimize them to get a car and a new apartment. With my savings I could buy a new car and then when I move I can start buying stuff. I need new everything. New beds. New couches. So much expenses. My mums, Alice and Dana Page are going to offer to pay for stuff. Scratch that, they're going to insist until I let them.

I haven't talked to them in a while, I should pop in today with Alex.

I basically get to sit around for the next week or two and revise schoolwork for my classes. But that's it.

Jessy messaged me at 12 to tell me that she's out and that it went well and she can't wait for our date.

I mean same but I didn't tell her that. She asked my plans and I told her I was going over to Alice and Dana.

I left to pick up Alec, taking an Uber to the school and straight to Dana and Alice's.

"MOTHERS! I'M HERE!"

As soon as I said that they came barreling towards the front doors to see their grandson.

"We missed you guys honey. Look how big our Alec is."

"We missed you too ma."

"Grams mummy got a girlfriend."

I facepalmed myself internally as I pictured giving Alec a glare. Time for an interrogation.

"My baby has a girlfriend."

"No I do not. I have a person I'm seeing and it's going really well."

Dana motioned for us to go to the couch while Alice made coffee for us and got Alec a juice.

"Gran I made a friend in school."

"Well that's good honey. So Andy. How's work going?"

I turned to look at her.

"It's going good ma. I finished up at the restaurant because I finally got a job at a publishing company but I turned it down and accepted a job at an online magazine as a manager."

"Congratulations baby."

"Thank you. We're going to move. Closer to here actually. And I'm saving for a car."

She smiled at me.

"I'm so proud of you. Now if you ever need someone to watch our sweet boy, you're going to be closer to us. No excuses."

I nodded and laughed and Alice gave us our coffees.

"I'm gonna foster someone. Maybe."

"Who darling?"

"Her names Taylor. She's my neighbor."

"Well that's amazing sweetheart."

We sat around talking and I realized how much I missed them.

"So tell us about this girl."

"Well her name's Jessica. She's 32 and so damn beautiful. Like my pulse speeds up when she's in the room and she makes me feel amazing. And I've only known her 2 days but it's like I know she's my person."

"Awww honey that's amazing. You know when your ma and I met, not even a day later I made her my girlfriend. Right Dana? And then the next 2 weeks we were engaged. And we got married and have been married ever since."

"I know the story mom. You told it to us every chance you got."

"Babe she's moving out of that ratty apartment and closer this side."

"That's good. So we'll help with the move but we have something for you sweetheart. It's your birthday on Sunday. And we wanted to get you something. So we got you this."

She handed me a small box from her jacket pocket with a key inside.

"It's a car mums. No you can't buy me a car. Take it back."

I tried giving back but both of them just rolled their eyes.

"Chill out. You never take anything from us and we're supposed to be your mums."

"Okay fair enough. Thank you guys so much."

"You're welcome."

We talked for a while about life and catching each other up on our lives, nothing really having changed.

"Now Sunday evening. I'm inviting you guys over. And by you guys I mean this Jessica and you two. For a birthday dinner."

"I don't think she'll come. Her sister is staying with her."

"Well bring her sister with. That's going to be your sister in law one day."

I blushed at the thought of marrying her. I would definitely love to honestly but it's a little too soon to be thinking about it right?

"Okay then. I'll get going. I love you guys. Thank you so much for the car."

"You're welcome honey. We love you too. Now it's the only car parked outside. Go along."

After Alec greeted his grandmas I got into my new Toyota yaris and drove to the apartment.

When we got there, Alec immediately went to do his homework and I messaged Jessica to ask what I should wear for our date later.

Jessy❤️: Something casual. Hell even pjs if you want. We're staying in. If that's okay with you. Bring Alec too.

Jessy❤️: I'll pick you up in about an hour. Can't wait. I have a surprise for you.

I put my phone away and went to get ready, leaving Alec to finish his homework but letting him know to be ready by 5:45 because she's coming at 6.
