Chapter 104
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 104 There Is Always Time
âIs the groomâs name Harry?â asked Lysander.
âYes. Do you know him?â
Lysander said, âHeâs my high school classmate.â
Fredâs joy increased. âThatâs even better. Weâre all familiar faces here. Tell me, tell me, was he exceptional even back then? I heard he was even recommended for Apex University.â
Fred seemed quite pleased with Harry, so it wouldnât have been appropriate for Lysander to dampen his spirits at such a time.
After careful consideration, she simply said, âHarry is indeed a good student, but I feel that when two people get
married and live together, academic performance isnât the most important factor. Itâs the person that matters.â
Fred nodded repeatedly. âIndeed, when Priscilla initially told me she had a boyfriend and was expecting a child, I was somewhat displeased. However, after having a meal with Harry, I found him to be incredibly polite and his manners impeccable. Thatâs when I finally gave my approval.â
Lysander found herself unable to say anything more.
The wedding, in fact, was conducted rather conventionally. If one were to be a bit blunt, it could be said that it was somewhat perfunctory.
Perhaps due to the tight schedule, the
remony was essentially procedural. It began with a video on the big screen showcasing the coupleâs journey of falling in love. Then, the host asked if they were willing to marry each other. Finally, they exchanged rings and the groom kissed the bride.
Throughout the entire event, an emcee controlled the pace. Lysander only played a role when the twe parties exchanged rings, serving merely as a tool to deliver the rings.
However, the presence of the groomâs best man was somewhat unexpected.
Adrian, dressed in a black suit, had a red silk ribbon that read âBest Manâ pinned to his chest. After delivering the ring, he stepped back to her side.
âDid I
Dr. Ziegler send for you?â Lysander asked softly.
Adrian gave a noncommittal hum. âI heard the groom just got back from abroad and was having a hard. time finding a best man. Dr. Ziegler asked me to step in for a bit.â
Lysander turned her head toward the stage below, only to see Fred already overwhelmed with tears of old age.
He was usually known for his upright and steady character and held a significant reputation in the medical field. However, at that moment, he was slightly hunched over, with a noticeable redness around his eyes.
âWhen a daughter gets married, itâs likely tough for her father to handle it emotionally.â Lysander gave

a nod.
âWhen you married Mr. Guerra, your father must have found it hard to let go, didnât he?â remarked.
Adrian.
Lysander lifted her eyes, meeting the clear gaze of Adrian.
Adrian hurriedly clarified, âI didnât mean anything by it. I was just asking casually. You donât have to
answer if you donât want to.â
Lysander said, âWe didnât have a wedding ceremony, so my dad didnât react much.â
âIs it like this case where you were too busy at the time to do it?â
Lysander paused for a moment, softly responding with a hum of acknowledgement.
âIs it you whoâs busy or is it him?â
âNeither of us have any free time.â
Adrian let out a chuckle. âThereâs always some time to spare if you squeeze it right.â
Lysander remained silent.
Among adults, it was not just about the words spoken, but also the tone used.
The implication of Adrianâs words was already quite clear. He was suggesting Josiah didnât take her seriously at all.
Adrian thought it was precisely because their love wasnât genuine that Josiah could forego a wedding ceremony, ignore Lysanderâs feelings, and allow himself to rekindle his old flame.
Those were all facts, and Lysander had no grounds to argue against them.
âLysanderâ¦â Priscilla softly called out to her.
Lysander quickly stepped forward to meet her, supporting her. âWhatâs wrong?â
Priscilla whispered, âThere will be a toast later, but I canât drink since Iâm
pregnantâ¦
In those days, the role of a bridesmaid boiled down to three things, which were running errands, doing odd jobs, and shielding the bride from excessive drinking.
Since Lysander had agreed, she was mentally prepared. âMm, I know what Iâm getting into. Donât worry.â
Priscilla, holding Lysanderâs hands, cooed in a sweet, spoiled manner, âI owe it all to you today, Lysander.â
âItâs all right. Itâs just that I donât really know any of the guests who came today. Youâll have to remind
me.â

From a diagonal direction behind, a shocking voice suddenly rang out, âLysander?â
