Chapter 124 I Will Retaliate Against Whoever Slanders Me
Priscilla was eager to defend Lysander still. âIâm telling the truth. Lysander was only trying to help me. She has no designs on Mr. Guerraâ¦
âEnough,â Harry interrupted her with a hint of disgust, âIf Mrs. Guerra asks you to hold your tongue, then you should keep your mouth shut.â

âBut I canât let Lysander be wrongly accused.â
Whenever Lysander was mentioned, Harry did feel a bit guilty. He rubbed his nose and cleared his throat before saying, âLysander is quite capable, so donât worry.â
Feeling a pang of guilt, Priscilla glanced at Lysander. Lysander responded with a smile, but her words were directed at the other two. âMr. Molsey is right. Anyone who dares to slander me will have to face my retaliation.â
Harry said awkwardly. âItâs all a misunderstanding.â
âSince itâs a misunderstanding, letâs clear it up as soon as possible.â
Harry hadnât expected her to suddenly lash out, his expression shifted slightly. âClear what up?â
âThe soâcalled misunderstanding youâre talking about.â
Confused, Lysanne turned to Harry and asked, âWhatâs going on?â
Harry was hesitant to meet Lysanderâs gaze. âItâs nothing really, itâs just that 1â¦â
Knock, knock, knockâ¦.
Right then, a knock was heard on the door.
Priscilla thought it was the nurse coming to change her medication, so she quickly said, âCome in.â
Yet, the one who pushed the door open wasnât a nurse.
The most surprised of them all was Harry. His face immediately lit up with joy. âMâMr. Guerra, what brings you here?â
Josiah was carrying a bunch of health supplements in his hand. Seeing the crowd in the ward, he was somewhat taken aback. âI came to visit Ms. Zieglerâ
He set the health supplements he was holding on the table. âTake good care of yourself and get well soon.â
Priscilla was somewhat bewildered. She never had much interaction with Josiah, and they barely knew each other. Now that he suddenly showed up to give her health supplements, she was momentarily at a loss. âUm⦠okay. Thank you, Mr. Guerra.â
Josiah gave a slight nod, then turned his gaze towards Lysander.
She looked like she had completely moved on. Appearing calm and professional, she was examining the medical records while jotting down notes.
âWhat are you doing here?â
Suddenly, Lysanne spoke, her face full of pride and defiance. âYou want to make peace now? Itâs too late! What were you doing last night?â
Josiah retracted his gaze from Lysander, his expression solemn. âI came to visit Ms. Ziegler, not to seek reconciliation. After all, Iâve done nothing wrong.
Lysanne turned around abruptly, instinctively sweeping her gaze around the room. âJosiah, what are you talking about? Since when do you know Ms. Ziegler? Arenât you just looking for an excuse to see meâ¦
â
Josiah remained nonchalant. âIâm just stating the facts.â
âContinue being stubborn then.â she said.

Lysander pointed towards the door, her tone icy as she said, âIf you must argue, take it outside. The patient needs to rest, so keep your voices down.â
Lysanne immediately changed the topic. âWho said we were arguing? Josiah and I are getting along just fine!â
*Could you please take your public display of affection elsewhere? Please show the patient some consideration.â
âWhatâs the matter, does our display of affection bother you?â
âYes, it makes me nauseous.
Lysanne, however, was unfazed as she wrapped her hands around Josiah completely. âIâm sorry, Dr. Thorne, that my relationship with Josiah is just too wonderful for you to stomach. I do apologize for it.â
âIt doesnât bother me, but the hospital has its rules, Mrs. Guerra, so please keep quiet.â
âHehe, hospital rules, huh? Fine.â Lysanne walked over, playfully clutching Josiahâs arm. âJosiah, letâs buy this hospital and change these ridiculous rules.â
Josiah frowned, pushing her away. âIf youâre going to stand, then stand properly.â
âIâm tired, canât you let me lean on you for a bit?â
Josiah pushed her away once again. âItâs getting late. I need to head to the office. Ms. Ziegler, please rest well. If you need anything, feel free to contact my secretary.â
Lysanne was upset. âJosiah..â
Before she could finish, Josiah had already stepped out of the hospital room.
