Priscilla took out her bank card and handed it to the shop assistant.

“Here you go.”

The shop assistant politely packed all the items and handed them to her.

Daphne said, “She’s pregnant and it’s inconvenient for her. I’ll take them.”

“Very well, Ms. Everhart.”

“Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask, what’s your return period?”

“It’s fifteen days.”

Daphne nodded with satisfaction. “Got it. We’ll try them on at home. If there’s anything we don’t like, we might have to trouble you for a return.”

The service of the luxury store’s staff was impeccable. “It’s our pleasure.”

As they left, Priscilla felt a bit uneasy. “We bought so much, and if we return everything later, won’t it affect the staff’s performance? Will their wages be docked?”

Daphne dismissed her concern. “Don’t

worry. If feel bad about it, you can keep one or two items. If you’re still worried, you can privately compensate them for any lost wages.”

Priscilla felt reassured. “Then I’ll have to trouble you to ask them for me. I don’t want those two shop assistants to suffer. I can double their compensation.”

Daphne readily agreed. “Sure, leave it to me.”

“Ms. Everhart, I’ve done a lot of wrong things in the past. I just want to sincerely apologize to Dr.

Thorne…”

“Who cares about your apology? What’s the use of it? It won’t make any difference! Also, someone like you wouldn’t apologize sincerely. Are you up to something again?”

Lysanne bit her lip, her voice trembling with tears

“I understand why you would think that. After all, I

really was… Dr. Thorne, I’ve lost my child, and I’ll never have another. This is my punishment from heaven. I truly know I was wrong. Lately, I’ve been having nightmares about Grandma Elisa.
