Chapter 236
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 236 My Bottom Line
âNo!â Lysanne anxiously grabbed Daphneâs arm. âBecause of Grandma Elisaâs death and the child Dr. Thorne lost, he practically hates me now. The only reason he hasnât done anything is because of my parents. Ms. Everhart, please donât call him!â
Daphne shook off her hand, feeling disgusted by her touch. âThen stop bothering Lysander. Remember, you reap
t you sow! Lysander isnât some kind of saint who has to fix your nightmares. Go cool off somewhere else! Lysandar, Priscilla, letâs go.â
Lysanne suddenly froze.
âPriscilla? Are you Harryâs wife, Priscilla Ziegler?â
Priscilla looked drastically different from her wedding day. She was practically skin and bones with at protruding belly. Lysanne hadnât recognized her at first.
Lysander frowned and shielded Priscilla. âI have nothing to say to you, nor do I want to hear from you. Just leave.â
Lysanne noticed the luxury shopping bags in Daphneâs hands. âAre you shopping? Who are they for? Priscilla?â
Daphne immediately became wary. âTheyâre for me. Why?â
âOh, I just saw you carrying so many bags and thought maybe all three of you bought something.â
âI have money. I can buy whatever I want. Is that a problem?â
âNo, of course not. I just didnât expect you and Dr. Thorne to be so close to Priscilla, taking her shopping. The last time I heard from Harry, he said Priscilla was resting back in her hometown. Iâm surprised to see her here.
Daphneâs heart sank.
Lysanne knew Harry, and if the cunning man found out, things might get complicated.
By then, things might not necessarily proceed smoothly.
Lysander said, âPriscilla is worried about her baby. She came for a checkâup and to see her father. Sheâll go back soon.â
âOh, I see. But pregnant women shouldnât move around too much. Priscilla looks so thin, so she should be careful.â
Daphne retorted angrily, âWith Lysander here, whatâs there to worry about? Mind your own business. By the way, I heard you got engaged to Josiah. Congratulations, but please donât invite me to the wedding. I donât need that bad luck.â
Lysander nudged her. âDaphne, letâs go.â
Daph shot Lysanne a warning look. âStop following us and leave.â

The elevator arrived again.
Josiah hurried out, looking visibly anxious. The moment he saw Lysanne, he frownedâdeeply.
Lysanne shrank back, calling out softly, âJosiahâ¦â
Josiah ignored her and looked at Lysander from a distance. âYou guys may leave.â

Lysander didnât waste time and quickly led Priscilla to another elevator, taking it down to the basement level and driving off.
As the elevator doors were closing, she could faintly hear Josiahâs angry roar, âWhy are you bothering her again?â
Lysanneâs tearful pleas followed, âI really didnât come here on purpose. It was just a coincidence, I swearâ¦..
âLysanne. Iâve given you enough chances. Sheâs my bottom line: If you touch her again, you know the consequentes!â
In the car, Daphne touched her nose and asked, âDid you hear what Josiah said?â
Lysander looked out the window. âNo.â
Daphne chuckled but didnât push it, focusing on driving.
Priscilla, however, squeezed Lysanderâs hand. âLysander, youâve saved me twice now. If thereâs anything I can do to help you, please let me know.â
Lysander smiled. âYou just need to eat more to decrease the risk of the surgery. That would be help enough for me.â
