Chapter 325
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 325 Hanging By A Thread
âDr. Thorne?â said Lysanne.
Lysander was already exhausted, her whole body weakening as she could only manage to nod fervently.
Lysanne crouched down, quietly asking. âAre you all right?â
Lysander nodded, signaling for Lysanne to go get help quickly. She estimated that with Lysanneâs strength, the latter would probably not be able to carry her out.
âLost your voice?â
Lysander nodded fervently, persistently signaling with her eyes for Lysanne to call someone over.
It seemed as though Lysanne didnât catch her hint and even mumbled a few words. âSo, sheâs tied up. No wonder she couldnât break free.â
âLysanne!â It was the voice of Josiah, who had come over.
Lysander desperately tried to climb out, but in the next moment, a pair of hands firmly gripped her shoulders.
Startled, she looked up only to see a fleeting, ruthless glint in Lysanneâs eyes. Then, with a sudden force, Lysanne pushed her back and quickly locked the cabin door from the outside.
Josiah moved quickly. When he jumped onto the ship, the entire vessel gave a slight shudder. âDid you find her? Is she in here?â
âStop! Josiah, donât open it! Dr. Thorne isnât in there. just opened the door. Itâs all ablaze inside. already.â
âDid you open the door to take a look?â
âI did. It was completely empty inside. Dr. Thorne wasnât there, and the fire was raging in the cabin. I was afraid the fire would spread, so I quickly shut the cabin door again.â
Daphne also arrived, asking, âWhat are you guys doing here? Did you find her?â
âNo,â Lysanne said. âLetâs keep going. The fire is too intense. We need to find Dr. Thorne as soon as possible.â
Daphne hummed in acknowledgment, âThen, Iâll continue over there.â
âAll rightâ Lysanne said. âIâll continue to search around. Josiah, you should head over there quickly,
too.â
Josiah didnât reply.
âJosiah?â

ourse, Iâm certain. I was also worried that the heavy smoke might ol scure my view, so I just bent
to take a closer look. Indeed, there was no one inside.â
Josiah didnât say anything.
âBy the way, Josiah, it just occurred to me. If Dr. Thome heard our voices, with her intelligence, sheâd certainly devise a way to get our attention. We need to be extra vigilant for any unusual vessels. It might speed up our search.â
Once again, Josiah remained silent.
âHey, did you hear something from that boat? Josiah, I think I just heard some noise coming from it.â
Immediately, Josiah asked, âWhich one?â
âItâs to your left. Do you see it? Itâs among those few ships over there. Iâm not sure which one exactly, but Iâm certain the sound came from that direction.â
Following that, there was a flurry of hurried footsteps
After the boat violently rocked, it eventually returned to calmness.
The voices of everyone around began to grow increasingly distant.
Lysander lay on the ground, letting out a bitter chuckle. Oh, Lysanne. She pretended to be a weakling for so long. At last, the opportunity for her revenge had arrived. Was it merely a coincidence that she took advantage of the situation, or had she been in contact with Hariy all along? I forgot that Lysanne and Harry met each other overseas. How could she possibly not know about what Harry had been through recently? I know Josiah mustâve sent the money to Harry, but I bet he lost contact with Harry after that. Then, it was Lysanne who found me with unerring accuracy. Could such coincidences really exist in the world? My lack of vigilance is to blame. I shouldnât have lowered my guard around Lysanne, and now Iâll never see the light of day again.
The fire was rapidly consuming the entire ship cabin.
Lysander was on the verge of suffocation. In one moment, she was enveloped by pure white smoke. In the next, she was plunged into the dark realm of unconsciousness.
Earlier, she exhausted all her energy trying to catch Lysanneâs attention. The lack of oxygen made her consciousness gradually hazy, slowly sinking into oblivion.
