Daphne immediately objected, “No way, you’re injured like this. How can you be left alone? I’m staying with you.”

Daphne paused, “So, you’re saying I should step aside? Is that what you

mean?”

Lysander nodded again.

“All right.” Daphne stood up. “This time, it was indeed Josiah who saved you. You two should have a good chat. I won’t leave and will just be outside the door. If anything comes up, Josiah, you can call for

me.”

Josiah nodded. “All right.”

Daphne adjusted the blanket for Lysander, then turned to Howard and said, “Mr. Thorne, let me see you out.”

Howard asked Josiah to take good care of Lysander before departing with Daphne.
