Lysander was somewhat agitated. “Madam Susan, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now,”

“Oh, are you still at works I hope I’m not disturbing you.”

“No. I’ve already finished work, but there’s still something I need to attend to.

With urgency in her voice, Molly pleaded, “Susan, could you hand me the phone? I’d like to speak to Dr. Thorne…”

Susan sounded a bit troubled when she said, “Lysander is busy right now. She’s fine, and she’s already speaking again. You both can rest assured.”

When she returned to the mansion once again, Adrian was already there.

He was just about to head out to look for her when he asked, “Why are you

back so late?”

“I went to buy some things to send back home. Did you need something from me?” Lysander asked.

“I was just worried about you.”

Lysander chuckled. “It’s not like I’m a child.”

“I’m glad you’re okay.” Adrian’s voice wavered. “Did Josiah bother you again?”

“Yes.

“He already knows where you work and live. Escaping from him will indeed be a bit challenging.”

“By the way, do you have the weekend?”

“Not yet. Why?”
