The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 380 Not Your Mother
Adrian asked, âHasnât he reached out to you?â
Lysander gently stroked the soft fur of the little white dog. âWhy would he reach out to me?â
âI thought, at the very least, he would have said something to you.â
Lysander remained silem, continuing to play with the little white dog.
âForget it. Letâs pretend I never said that.â
âItâs quite late, and itâs hard to drive when itâs dark.â
With a helpless smile, Adrian rose to leave. âI understand what youâre saying. Itâs just that every time I confess my feelings to you, your attitude seems to turn rather indifferent.â

âDr. Sutton, Iâll be honest. I donât have much experience dealing with situations like this. The best I can do is try not to give you false hope.â
Adrian gave a nod. âAll right.â
âIf my behavior has hurt you, Iâm truly sorry. Iâll be moving out this weekend.â
By then, Adrian had already reached the door. âWeâll talk about it later.â
Lysander never expected that those words could actually have a different meaning.
During her midday break, she received a call from Daphne.
âWhen I went to deliver the local specialties to your parents, I think I saw Josiahâs car,â Daphne said.
âWhere did you see it?â Lysander asked,
âIn the residential area. When I arrived, I happened to see him lugging loads of packages upstairs. I decided to wait for him downstairs, probably for a little over an hour, before I finally saw him come down.â
Lysander asked, âWhat about those things?â
âHe took the things down with him.â
Hearing that, Lysander let out a small sigh of relief.
Daphne also felt somewhat frustrated. âYour parents are really stubborn. I just donât know what they discussed in that one hour. Iâm worried that if your parents see Josiah, they might get angry. It would be terrible if they were upset to the point of harm.â
âDid you check on them?â
âI did.â Daphne could barely contain her joy. âRest assured, your parents are doing just fine, and Michelle is also doing well.â
With a subtle smile, Lysander gently said, âThatâs good, then.â

Chapter 380 Not Your Mother
âWhat is it?â
âIt seems that b*tchâs mother is on her last legs! It might sound immoral to say this, but who knows if the b*tchâs skewed values have anything to do with her motherâs teachings? Wasnât it mentioned before that her mother was always sick and frail? It wonât be surprising if she doesnât make it through this winter.â
A buzz filled Lysanderâs mind. âWhat exactly happened?â
âIâm not quite sure⦠Why are you so worked up? Sheâs her mother, not yours.â
Lysander paused for a moment before saying, âDaphne, I have to hang up now. Somethingâs come up.â
âHuh? Arenât you on your lunch break?â
âI need to go check on something.â
âAll right, then. You carry on with your work.â
After hanging up the phone, Lysander immediately called Josiah.
The phone rang on and on before it was finally answered.
âLysander?â
âHow is Lysanneâs mother doing?
Lysanderâs tone held a certain urgency that left Josiah somewhat bewildered, but he still answered, âI was just about to discuss this with you. Mrs. Thorneâs condition suddenly worsened, and sheâs been unconscious ever since. The doctorâs prognosis isnât promising, suggesting we prepare for the worst. Given the urgency of the situation, I came back first. Mrs. Thorne has been kind to me, and if anything were to happen, Mr. Thorne wouldnât be able to handle everything on his own. I had to come back to help.â
âShe was confined to a wheelchair due to her leg condition, right? Were there any other illnesses? Why did her condition suddenly worsen?â
âThere were many technical terms I didnât fully understand. However, based on the doctorâs words, it appears that she has suffered a significant trauma in her early years, which has severely stimulated her brain, resulting in neurological paralysis. This time, it seems to be a similar situation to the previous one, but it appears to be even more severeâ¦
