Susan was somewhat taken aback. “Why is that?”

“Houses made of wood are quite prone to catching fire in the winter, making them somewhat unsafe. Moreover, the Thome manor next door also needs to carry out some repairs, which will inevitably cause a considerable amount of noise during the construction. After walking for a while, Lysander finally managed to hail a cab when she reached the intersection.

When she arrived at the hospital, she first visited the cardiology department. After clarifying the dosage, she sent it to Eleanor.

Eleanor asked, “Mr. Guerra left just a few minutes after you did. Did you two run into each other?”

Lysander said, “No, I left in a taxi. I didn’t see him.”

“Oh, Madam Susan kept urging him and hoping he could make it in time to drive you to your destination.”

“Help me thank Madam Susan.”

When Lysander returned to the ward, Daphne and Priscilla were both there.

Priscilla was still feeding Molly while Daphne was engaged in a conversation with Howard.

Seeing her approach, Howard was filled with joy. “You’re here.”

“Yep. I dropped by Madam Susan’s place this morning. She’s doing pretty well,” responded Lysander.

“That’s good,” said Howard. “I’m truly grateful for your two friends. Priscilla has been bringing soup every day, and Daphne has been keeping us company all this time.”

Daphne waved her hand dismissively. “I’m not as meticulous as Priscilla. I wouldn’t be of much help.”

Lysander said with a smile, “I’m already touched that you could come. How about I treat you to a meal another day?”

“Don’t. I’ve been trying to lose weight recently, so don’t even think about tempting me.”

Howard said, “You girls catch up. I’ll take a stroll in the garden downstairs.”

After Lysander saw off Howard, Priscilla had also finished feeding Molly.

Once Molly had fallen asleep, the three women left the ward and found a place to sit outside.

Daphne clearly had a lot to say. “What on earth is Josiah thinking? He’s pursuing you, yet he can’t seem to forget his past love!”

Lysander asked, “Lysanne?”

Josiah still held the freshly collected medicine in his hand as the two of them crossed the corridor together and entered the elevator.

Daphne said, “I’ll go ask him what he’s thinking.”

Priscilla grabbed her hand. “Daphine…”

“Priscilla, don’t pull me!”

Priscilla sighed, saying, “Why don’t we first hear what Lysander has to say?”

Daphne turned around and looked at Lysander. “Lysander, don’t worry about it. I’ll go get a clear answer for you.”

“No need to ask him anymore,” Lysander said. “We’re completely over now.”

Daphne’s expression shifted several times. “What do you mean?”

“I had a final conversation with him, and we decided to go our separate ways.
