“This perfume is known as Dawn after Sex: Mr. Guerra thinks it’s too heavy and doesn’t smell good, but I rather like it. What do you think?”

“It’s alright, I guess,” Lysander replied.

“It seems you both have similar tastes, neither liking this smell.”

As he spoke, he draped the coat securely over her shoulders.

His voice faltered, revealing a desire to probe deeper but fearful of being noticed by Lysander. Hearing that, she couldn’t help but laugh. “Mr. Guerra, are you so afraid of me running into Amelia? Or is it that you have something to hide, which is why you’re worried?”

Josiah sighed helplessly. “What do I have to worry about? I’m just afraid you might misunderstand. I haven’t even cleared my name for the previous accusations. If another one comes up, you’ll never believe me anymore, no matter what I say.”

Josiah raised an eyebrow. “Was that all you guys talked about?”

“If not? Talk about your both moongazing?” Lysander retorted.

As she spoke, she rose to her feet and started heading back.

The mountains were really quite chilly at night,

Josiah brought up the rear, leisurely trailing after her.

He only had a vague recollection of Amelia, and it was only after Lysander’s words that he recalled having helped her out. “It was nothing more than a passing act of kindness, yet she remembers it to this day.”

Lysander didn’t know what to say, so she decided to dodge that topic and brought up something else instead. “Do you often go to Skywatch?”

Josiah’s body stiffened. “There were times when I had to socialize, so I inevitably went a few times, but I won’t go anymore in the future.”

“Don’t overthink it. I have no intention of interfering in your personal life.”

The cold reception came as no surprise to Josiah. Suddenly, his brows furrowed. He leaned in and took a whiff of her. “What’s this scent on you?”

Lysander lifted her arm and took a sniff as well. “It might be the scent of Amelia’s perfume.”

Then, she added. “It’s said to be called Dawn after Sex.”

Upon hearing that, Josiah immediately frowned.

“I don’t like this smell.”

“I don’t like it either, Josiah seconded.

The two of them strolled leisurely back along the corridor.

For a long while, they both remained silent.

As they approached the entrance of the lobby, Josiah broke the silence. “It was my fault today. Just pretend I never said those words. Let’s stick to our original plan to help you sort out the current situation at Thorne Constructions and Energies, okay?”

Lysander turned around and asked, “What’s the condition?”

“Gaze at the moon with me.”

It wasn’t until she stepped into the hotel lobby that Lysander snapped back to reality. However, it wasn’t because she had decided on an answer. Instead, it was because she caught sight of another figure from the corner of her eye.

She instinctively put some distance between them.

Tiffany stood at the reception desk, engaged in a conversation. From afar, she noticed Lysander and Josiah entering from the back garden, upon which her expression changed subtly.

Tiffany had an exquisite handbag in hand. Judging by the luggage tag attached to the suitcase the bellboy wheeled behind her, she seemed to have come straight from the airport.

“My dad said there was a lot to do at the company, and he needed to return early. I found it boring to be alone, so i decided to come back with him.”

“Actually, there are quite a few fun places in Apex City. You could have spent a few more days there,” Josiah replied.

“Oh yes!” Tiffany took something out of her suitcase and handed it to Josiah. “I was having so much fun in Apex City that I completely forgot about this. Lyss asked me to find a chance to give this to you.”
