The office that Lysander was currently using was previously occupied by Howard. It was still arranged the way it had been during his time, and it was equipped with everything that one might need.

Josiah glanced around and felt somewhat satisfied.

The first thing Lysander did after entering the office was to take her belongings from Josiah and draw a line between them. She said, “Thank you.”

Josiah let of her stuff. He watched her sit down at her desk, switch on her laptop, and continue working on unfinished tasks. He then sat down on the single couch opposite her.

The materials needed for the tender proposal were intricate and complex, with piles of documents stacked like small mountains on the table.

Lysander’s gaze fell on the stack of documents and asked, “Don’t you have your own tasks to attend to? Guerra Group’s business is busier than Thorne Constructions and Energies. Lunch has been delivered, and you’ve already supported me. They shouldn’t oppose me like they did today. You should go back to your own company.”

Josiah replied calmly, “I’m not in a hurry to go back.”

“You’ve made it pretty clear just now. Anyone with a brain should understand,” she remarked.

There was no emotion discernible on Lysander’s face.

Josiah felt a bit uneasy. “Are you still blaming me?”

Lysander shook her head. “No, thanks to you today, I was able to control them. You’re right, they don’t respect me. No matter how good my suggestions are, they won’t implement them if they don’t accept me.”

Josiah understood. He comforted her softly, “I know you feel uncomfortable. You’ve always relied on your own efforts, both in exams and work. Suddenly having to rely on connections feels uncomfortable for you. You know rationally that this is the quickest way, but it still feels uncomfortable.”

Lysander didn’t deny it. “Mm.”

Upon hearing this, Lysander lifted her head and briefly shared her thoughts

“I think it’s best to observe more in such matters. Last night, 1 harily picked some assistants from other regions‘ market specialists because of necessity.
