Chapter 64
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 64 If Josiah Turned Around
Lysander was taken to the central hospital.
The surgeon was Sergio Foreman, whom she was familiar with. After examining her, he said, âDonât worry, thereâs no problem with the bones. Itâs just some sprains and abrasions. Iâll prescribe some blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicine for you. Donât take a shower for a week.â
âThank you.â
âNo problem. Who wants to go with me to the pharmacy to get the medicine?â
Daphne stood up immediately, but Adrian was faster. He said to Daphne, âYou accompany Lysander. Iâll
go.â
Since it was the hospital where he often worked, Lysander didnât go to the surgical clinic but went straight to her office.
Daphne squatted on the ground while looking at the abrasions on her calf and said, âWhatâs wrong with you? She could drag you to commit suicide. Why did you save her?â
Lysander smiled bitterly. âI didnât intend to save her.
âYou say you didnât save her? I heard the onlookers say that you could have run to the other side, but you came back to block her to save that b*tchâ
âI didnât block her. I⦠something fell.â
âWhatâs so important that you had to go back?â Daphne looked puzzled. âIsnât saving your life the most important thing at this time? Why do you care about other things?â
Lysander opened her palm to show her. âThis.â
âThis isâ¦â Daphne understood as soon as she saw the thing and her face turned a little distressed. âWhy are you still keeping this?â
âI left in a hurry and forgot to give it to him.â Lysander smiled and said. âThis wedding ring is quite expensive. It costs tens of thousands. It was bought after getting the marriage certificate, so itâs considered marital property. If Lysanne asks me to compensate in the future, I canât afford it.â
Daphne was speechless. âDonât let her lead you astray. Even if itâs lost, so what? Just let her sue in court. She will fight for the ex-wifeâs wedding ring. Letâs see if Josiah can afford to be embarrassed.â
âI donât want to have any more dealings with her. I want to cut her off cleanly and donât want to leave her any leverage.â
Daphne chuckled. âTrue. With the way sheâs making a scene today, getting involved with her is not a good idea. She doesnât care at all about Josiahâs reputation.â
Just then, Lysanderâs phone rang.
Daphne asked, âWho is it?â
1/2
Lysander frowned. It was Josiahâs mother, her ex-mother-in-law, Susan.
âHello?â
âLysander, itâs me.â
Lysander paused for a moment, then called out, âMrs. Guerra,â
As soon as this title came out, there was silence on the other end of the phone as well.
After a long time, Susan sighed helplessly. âChild, I donât blame you for changing your address. This matter itself is our familyâs fault to you. I heard you were injured. Is it serious?â
âItâs not too serious. Itâs just a minor injury.â
you
âI sent back everything you sent me in its original form. I understand your intention. I know that donât want to drag things out and want to cleanly break ties with the Guerra family. I donât know how to express my apologiesâ¦â
âMrs. Guerra, itâs not your fault. You donât need to apologize.â
âItâs still related to me. When you all came back to eat together, I solemnly told you that Josiah and Lysanne were just good friends. I really didnât expect them to-â
Lysander smiled and interrupted her, âThings have already developed to this point, so saying these things is useless. Mrs. Guerra, you have been very good to me these past few years, I know that. Josiah is Josiah, and you are you.â
âLysander, I know this may sound selfish, but I still have to ask. If Josiah were willing to change his ways, would you still be willing to accept him?â
âDid Josiah say anything to you?â
