The dean walked in and Lysander stood up holding onto the desk. “Dean.”

The dean didn’t seem very surprised by her leg injury. He raised his hand to gesture for her to sit down and talk. “Your leg is not convenient. Please sit down.”

“Don’t worry, Dean. It won’t affect my work. I just have a little trouble walking, but it’s no problem for me to see patients or perform surgery standing up.”

The dean smiled reassuringly and said, “You have outstanding abilities. Are you afraid that I will fire you? All right. Take a few days off and let your assistant handle things. Don’t leave any lingering illness behind. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Central Hospital is counting on you in the future.”

The dean chuckled and said, “He will definitely stay, let me introduce him to you. Adrian, come in.”

A man walked in from the door. He was tall and dignified. He smiled and reached out his hand to her. “Hello, Dr. Thorne, I’m Adrian Sutton.”

Lysander was a little stunned.

Lysander glanced at the dean before turning her gaze to Adrian and there was a hint of concern in her eyes. “Did you inform the dean that we are acquainted?”
