"Pat pat pat pat pap!"

"What are you doing?"

"I'm making um cakes, do you want one?"

"That's not cake it's mud."

"I'm imaginin it."

"That's stupid, you're stupid and ugly."

"Oh."

...

*Kicks mud*

"WHAAAAAA AHHHH!"

"Michelle! What's wrong baby?"

"She's cry because um she got mud on herself."

"Is that true Michelle? Michelle? You didn't kick the mud to her did you?"

"No she did it herself."

"Michelle, Do you still want to continue playing?"

*Nod*

"Okay then I'll be over there watching you okay? Let me know when you are ready to go."

"You're a cry baby. Here muwah."

"What was it?"

"A kiss. I'll give you another one if you make me the biggest and bestest cake okay?"

"Okay."

...

"Here."

"Thank you. Here muwah."

"LINDA WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT GETTING DIRTY! LOOK AT YOUR SHOES! HERE NOW! I, TOLD YOU, NOT, TO, GET, DIRTY!"

"WHAAA!"

"WHAAAAA! MAAAAAMAAA!"

"It's okay sweetie. Come on, let's go.

...

"Let's get these dirty clothes off you and put these on. "

"Mama is the girl going to be okay?"

"Let's get some ice cream okay?"

"Yes I want ice cream."

"Okay sit on your car seat and we'll go get ice cream."

...

"I hate you!"

"Oh, why?"

"Because my mom hit me because um you."

"I'm sorry."

"If you are then give me your dolly."

"But it's my favorite."

"Then I hate you."

"And I don't think my mommy would like that I give it to you."

"I'll trade you for a surprise."

"A surprise?"

"Yeah. Deal?"

"Okay."

"Thanks."

"And... and the surprise?"

"Close your eyes. No peeking okay?"

"Okay."

"Muwah."

"Did you like your surprise?"

"Um... I don't know."

...

"Do you have all your things."

"Yeah."

"I don't think so where is your dolly."

"Um,I gave um it to um girl."

"You gave it to a girl?

*Nod*

"Did she not give it back?"

"Um...I gave it for her to have."

"Sweetie, no that was a gift from grandma and it was really expensive."

"She gave me a surprise for my dolly."

"A surprise? What was it."

"um... a kiss."

"A kiss?"

*Nod*

"Where?"

*Points to cheek*

"Next time tell me before you give another kid something okay?"

"Okay."

"A $100 doll for a kiss on the cheek. I told my mother to return it she shouldn't have bought it for you in the first place.

We need to find another park to go to."

...

"MICHELLE!" I hear a voice from behind me scream.

I turn my head and see my best friend Linda on her bike with a wagon I hitched to it. It used to be mine.

I run up to her and say "What's up."

"I've been looking for you, weren't we supposed to play at the clubhouse."

I look back and then at her.

"I'm playing soccer with the boys." I say.

"Why? Do you have a crush on one of them or what?"

"Ew, no."

"It's fun. Do you want to join us?"

"No, but I guess I'll watch."

"Ok."

I went back to the game and suddenly I hear Linda cheer but it was for the other team. I tried to ignore her until we got scored on and she started celebrating really loudly.

I tried to get our point back but I got the ball stolen from me and they scored on us again.

Linda cheered again and everything went red. I kicked the ball as hard as I could hitting the kid that stole the ball from me, right in the face causing him to bleed from his nose.

Everyone got mad at me and told me to leave.

I ran home really angry.

Before I could go in I hear Linda call out again.

"What!?"

"Are you mad?"

"You think?"

"Why."

"Because of you."

"I didn't do anything."

"Whatever, I'm going inside."

"Did you forget that we were supposed to play today?"

"I don't we to anymore."

"Since you are mad I have to make you feel better."

"What are you talking about?"

"Because, I'm the mommy and you are the daddy and I'm supposed to make you feel better. So come on let's go."

I sit on the wagon and she begins biking over to the clubhouse.

...

"Wow! What was that?"

I say to Linda.

We are sitting in the clubhouse watching videos on my phone. Well, we were doing that until a couple of moments ago.

"You didn't like it?" She asks.

"I didn't dislike it." I tell her.

Linda tries to do it again.

She goes in for a kiss but I pull away.

"We shouldn't."

"Why not?"

"You have a boyfriend."

"He doesn't mean anything to me."

"Then break up with him."

"Michelle, Why are you being like this?"

"Because I'm tired of giving in and later getting cut off."

"Why are you like this!? Can't we just enjoy the moment please?"

"I'm going home."

I walk away to the sound of Linda calling out my name.

...

"What are we doing here? We weren't invited."

"Relax, I was."

"What when?"

"It doesn't matter. Look, it's prom night and soon we'll graduate and we aren't leaving high school without going to at least one party now come on let's go in."

We enter the house and Linda doesn't stop until we make it to the kitchen.

She pours us some alcohol and we walk around the dancing crowd.

I lose Linda for a while until I see her on the lap of some guy.

"I've been looking for you."

"Hey, I'm just hanging out with these guys. This is Mark and that's his friend Daniel."

"Hey."

the dude named Daniel says to me.

"Hey."

I say not bothering to look his way.

"Isn't he cute? Why don't you two get to know each other better?"

"I'm good. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going home. I'll see you later I guess."

I walked out of the house hoping Linda would follow me. If she doesn't I might have to snitch on her to her mom. I mean it's better than leaving her there by herself.

I was just about to call her mother when she walked outside.

"Michelle! There you are. What's going on with you. We were having fun."

"No, you were having fun. I've told you before that this is not my scene."

"Ugh, stop being such a little bitch. Look, let's just go back to your place and finish this there then."

Linda pulls a bottle of alcohol from the top of her prom dress.

"What are you doing with that!? Put it back it's not yours."

"Relax, is not like they are going to miss it.

Now come on, stop being such a buzzkill."

We make it to my room and we change out of our prom dresses into our underwear and long t-shirts.

"Wow, I can't believe we finished that so quickly."

"We? I just had a couple of shots." I reply.

"Well...I knew it was up to me to finish it so..."

"I can't believe we are about to graduate."

"At least we were able to get into the same university."

"You still haven't thanked me for helping you out with that."

"Whatever."

Linda moves closer to me and we cuddle and lay in comfortable silence until she straddles my midsection.

"Ha ha, what are you doing?" I ask her.

"Nothing."

she says biting her lip.

She places her hands at my waist and slowly moves them up.

Her hands go underneath my shirt cupping my breast. I let out a breathy moan.

She places kisses on my neck.

"L-Linda wha-?"

"Shh. Just enjoy it."

Her hand slides down past my panties.

Linda's eyes stare into mine as she begins pleasuring me.

My room falls silent, all we can hear are my moans.

As the night goes on we end up naked in each other's embrace.

We break out of our incredibly long makeout session.

"I want to stay like this forever." Linda says, placing her forehead on mine.

"We can."

"We can't."

"Why?"

"We just can't."

"You know my feelings already, it's just up to you."

"Whatever, don't ruin it, let's just enjoy the moment in silence."

"Nah."

"What?"

"It's your turn..."

....

"Aaaah! Michelle! Fuck..."

I kiss Linda before laying next to her on the bed of my college apartment.

"You are so good."

I whispered.

"Liar."

"Ha ha! What do you mean?"

"If I was that good you wouldn't have the need to be hanging out with those other girls."

"Other girls? Are you jealous of my friends?"

"I'm not jealous, it's just that the only reason I applied to this university was to spend more time with you but since you got this new friend group I hardly get to see you."

"Seriously Linda, I've invited you to join us many times but you always refuse."

"I only want to hang out with you."

"Why?"

"Because."

"Because?"

"Because I don't like them."

"Okay but again. Why?"

"I don't know I just don't."

"Well I will try to make more time for okay?"

"Whatever."

Suddenly Linda gets up and runs to the bathroom.

"Are you alright?"

I hear her throwing up in there.

"Do you need me to get you anything?"

....

"Have you seen Linda around?" I ask a mutual friend of ours

"Linda? You don't know? She dropped out a couple of weeks ago. She didn't tell you?"

"Ah, no. We had gotten into an argument and I hadn't heard from her since."

"Ha typical but I'm sure she'll contact you sooner or later. She always does."

...

(Hey, Michelle it's Martha. Linda is getting married and is looking for someone to help her plan the wedding. I know that you got into event planning so I thought of you.)

(Here's her number

5552841657)

...

(Hey Linda? it's Michelle)

(Hey Michelle how have you been?)

(Good)

(I heard from Martha that you are getting married)

(I am)

(If you want me to help with preparations

for the wedding)

(I'll be happy to help.

It'll be good practice.)

(It's fine, I already have it under control but

I would like you to join me for my bachelorette party.)

(Yeah I'm in)

...

I sit on the sofa as our friends drag Linda to the couch across from me.

After a bit of bar hopping they insisted on meeting up at Martha's place for a "surprise."

There's a knock on the door and they ask me to answer.

A muscular man holding a bag and a pizza box appears stands at the door.

"I heard someone here was uh hungry for some pizza ah um with extra sausag-!"

I close the door and turn around. The ladies look at each other and then at me.

"Ah so...who was it?" one of them ask.

"Some guy, I don't know he seemed creepy."

Martha gets up and quickly walks to the door.

"Michelle that's was the stripper!"

she's says opening the door.

I sit back down as the girls all get excited.

The stripper dances for Linda and she seems to be enjoying herself though I caught her look my way a couple of times.

After a couple songs he started dancing on the other girls.

He then approaches me and as I take a sip of my drink I shake my head.

He continues walking towards me and I point to Linda.

"That's who you should be dancing for."

I say while glaring at him.

He turns around with a scared look on his face and heads over to Linda.

At the end of the night I'm left alone with her. I'm in charge of driving her home it seems.

Once we get in the car she starts to get really handsy.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

"What?"

"You know you are getting married right?"

"So."

"What do you mean so."

Linda takes her seat belt off and gets closer to me placing kisses on my neck.

"Linda, that's not safe. I'm driving! Oh god we are going to crash. Seriously put your seat belt back on!"

Linda's hand goes past the waistband of both my pants and panties causing a moan to escape.

I wake up the next day with a hangover and images of us making love for most of the night.

She told me that it was our last. She said it was a tradition that everyone did. Like a way of saying goodbye to being single though she was supposed to do that before becoming Victor's girlfriend not his wife.

...

After I finished getting ready for Linda's wedding. I drive over and look for Linda. I'm seated at a table and a while later Linda approaches.

"Hey Michelle, I didn't think you'd come."

I stand to hug Linda and I almost walk over a little girl that was standing between us.

"Oops! Sorry little one. What's your name?"

She hides behind Linda.

"She's very shy. Don't be rude, tell her your name."

"Amanda."

"Nice to meet you Amanda. I'm Michelle." I say shaking her hand.

"Is she your niece?"

I ask Linda who shakes her head.

"She's my daughter."

I froze. Her daughter?

I- when did- why didn't she tell me?

"Y-your daughter?" I say looking between them.

"Yeah anyway, I have to keep moving and visit our other guests so I'll talk to you later."

As I saw them walk away I couldn't help but think why Linda didn't tell me. From her age it seems like she was pregnant throughout college. Wait is that why she dropped out?

....

I make my way to the restroom and suddenly I'm dragged to a different room down the hallway.

It's got a bunch of full length mirrors in a corner and a long love seat type couch.

Before I could turn around my shoulder gets peppered with kisses.

"I couldn't wait any longer." Linda's voice instantly calms me down.

I turn and she steals a kiss before I could speak. She kisses down my neck as I try to push her back.

"Linda we can't."

She pushes me down onto the couch and gets on top of me.

"Stop!"

I'm not comfortable in this position so I use a bit of force to push her back.

"Hey!"

She protests.

"I said stop."

"What's wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me?

What's wrong with you?

Aren't you ashamed?

Doing this.

You have a daughter, it's the day of your wedding for christ sakes."

"What about you? It never bothered you before."

"I know and I apologize for that but I know now that this is wrong."

"Wrong?"

"Yes, it's wrong to be having an affair with your child and husband waiting for you out there."

"Why are you being like this?"

"You know why. I wanted to be the one to marry you. I want you for myself. It hasn't been illegal for us to do that for a while now."

"Are you kidding me? Are you still on that? I already told you that I'm not a fucking d*key."

"Well you sure act like one."

"Fuck off Michelle. Seriously get out I don't want you here anymore go home."

"Fine, I'll go."

I get up and walk towards the door straightening myself and before I open the door I look back at her and say

"It's not too late to change, that goes for the both of us.

"Fucking leave already!"

I walk out of the room straight for the exit but soon my vision becomes blurry. I'm not sure when the tears started falling from my face.

I stop to wipe them off when I hear a voice say

"Are you okay?"

I look down at Linda's daughter who had her hand on her mouth.

"Yes, I'm okay."

"But you are...um crying. Why are you doing that?"

I crouch down and respond

"I...I just had a fight with a friend."

"Oh, I did too um days ago and I didn't cry and because you are a...

You look like a pretty princess and my mom says princesses shouldn't cry."

"Okay, I won't cry anymore okay?"

"Do you need a hug to make you feel better?"

"Yes please."

We hug and I honestly begin to feel better.

"Thank you! I needed that." I say to her.

"You're welcome."

"Amanda!

I told you not go to far by yourself."

Victor jogs towards us.

"Oh. Hi Michelle."

"Hello, Victor."

"I was looking for mommy." Amanda breaks the awkward silence.

"I uh saw Linda, near the restrooms I think she went into the room at the end of the hall."

"Great. Thanks...well go see if she's still there. Ah it was good seeing you again Michelle."

"Likewise."

"Come on Amanda, let's go look for your mother."

Victor says grabbing Amanda's hand and walking away.

Amanda looks back at me and waves.

I wave back and continue towards the exit

...

"Michelle you lucky bitch! You are not going to believe this."

Chandice says bursting into my office.

"What? What's going on?"

"Remember that shit show with those new clients?"

"Yeah."

"We'll they were impressed by how well you managed to fix everything that they have asked for you to head over seas and plan some of their events. Isn't that great."

"Yeah sure but we've never done any work outside of the country."

"We'll there's a first time for everything and I heard that if this goes well the company might open a branch over there."

"Wow! I don't know what to say."

"Don't worry you aren't going alone. We will be sending you with the best team we can put together. We really need this to go well."

I've never traveled outside of the country mostly since I didn't want to be too far from Linda, she has always relied on me.

But things are different now though.

"Okay.

I'll be ready.

It should be fun."

It'll help me forget about Linda quicker or so I hope.

...

*Ring Ring Ring*

"Hello?"

"Hey, Michelle? It's Linda."

"Oh, hey. What's up?"

"I...want to see you..."

"I don't think that's such a good idea."

"Please, I'm lonely. I- me and Victor split up I don't have anyone to talk to."

"Okay...but Linda, this time I'm only going to be there for you as a friend."

"I understand."

...

"You are leaving again?"

"Yeah for a year."

"A year?!"

"I know."

"This job has taken over your life, maybe you should look for a new one that doesn't have you traveling all the time."

"I'll think about it."

"Fine, I'll let you go then."

"How's Amanda been all these years?"

"A handful you know how teenagers are."

"Okay, then I'll see you in a year call me okay."

"Yeah."

"Okay bye bye."

"Bye, travel safe."

...

(Hey Linda, it's been a while. A year turned into a year and a half. But hopefully I'll be back soon.)

...

(Linda?)

....

(Are you still upset)

...

(It's not my

fault you know)

...

(Hey)

(I know it's late

but I just wanted to

let you know

that I'm back home)
