Chapter 166
The Alpha’s Obsession with his Ex-Contract Luna
Chapter 166
Two years ago, Daisyâs story
âAre you sure itâs safe here? I can drop you off at the pack instead,â Neil proposed cautiously when they arrived a distance away from the Crescent Moon Pack, but Daisy refused for him to go any further.
âNo. This place is fine. I want to see Alpha Calhoun when he drives in or out of the pack.â
âWhat if he doesnât come out today?â Neil asked after a moment of thought. Daisy smiled as she recalled the research report she received on him from Neil when her parents went on their vacation.
âDidnât you say that he comes out to check the external pack security by himself?â
âThat is what the investigator said,â Neil recalled in agreement, unsure of what to hope for.
This was a new experience for Daisy as it was the first time she had gone anywhere without her parentsâ company.
âGood. From now onwards, my name is Aurora White. Do me a favor and send the information I would send to you to the human world. Let me know if itâs done.â
She transferred documents from her phone to him, and Neil couldnât help but ask, âWhere did you get all of these?â
Daisy had impersonated someone in the human world, making a few changes since the person had disappeared without a trace.
âI did some digging. From now on, you should not contact me until I contact you.â
Neil had no idea Daisyâs hacking skills had improved so much but was quite impressed. His only challenge was not to contact Daisy again.
They had grown up together at the pack house, and she was like an elder sister to him. âDaisy, you will be greatly missed. How long are you staying?â
âAs soon as I accomplish my mission, I will decide on whether to stay here permanently or return. Trust me, it wonât be long.â
She carried the backpack containing the few clothes she had brought along with some money and exited the car.
âGo,â she said, ensuring that Neil drove away before she began her tenâminute walk to the Crescent Moon pack.
Upon reaching there, she lingered for almost two hours before she saw a group of fifty warriors jogging in. Leading them was a familiar face that caused her heart to skip a beat. She came out of her hiding and ran into him.
âHey, watch your step,â she was caught in strong arms, as his dark orbs bore into hers. âWhat are you doing around here?â A deep voice rang in her ears as he steadied her before slowly withdrawing his hands.
Daisy stared into the familiar eyes, but all she received in return was aloofness. âWill you say something?â The voice didnât sound like the one she remembered, but people change, right?
Taking a deep breath, she braced herself and stretched her hand towards him.
âIâm Aurora White. I just escaped from some people chasing me in the human world, and I need a place to stay.â
Alpha Calhoun was taken aback as he studied her features keenly. His warriors had already gone ahead.
Auroraâs hair was held in a bun, with enchanting green eyes covered by nerd glasses.
There was no familiarity between her and any woman he had seen around the packs.
âHow can I believe what you are saying?â He found her too fragile to be a threat but also couldnât believe that she was being chased.
Aurora gazed dreamily at the handsome face. It had been ten years, and she knew that this man didnât recognize her. She had to find another way.
âI canât prove it to you, but I can be helpful. Give me a place to stay, food, and a little money, and I can be a member of your pack.â
Alpha Calhoun looked around carefully, wondering if someone was sponsoring her. Her presence made him feel uneasy.
âI donât just accept members; some can be traitors. Find another pack.â He was two steps into entering the pack gate when Daisy ran to him.
âHey. Iâm very capable. Trust me, I learned accounting, ethical hacking, fashion, and good combat skills too.â
Her words struck a chord in him, but the first part upset him. âDid you just call me âheyâ?â

Daisy forced a smile. âIâm sorry. What is your name?â She pretended not to know. Alpha Calhoun suddenly took an interest in her.
âAlpha Calhoun Davis.â
âAlpha? No wonder you look strong and handsome,â she flirted with him a bit but Alpha Calhoun looked rather bored but the compliment.
This was something he had heard many times before. Daisy thought of something and said, âI havenât been around packs for long. I just visited a few times.â
She mentioned visiting a few times to hint that they must have met before, but Alpha Calhounâs expression remained stiff.
âSo where have you been?â He asked curiously, considering investigating her.

âIn a small village in Texas,â Daisy smiled brightly. Alpha Calhoun felt a strange connection. He had never found his mate and didnât feel any bond, but he liked Daisyâs personality.
She was straightforward and unafraid of him, unlike other sheâwolves.
âAre you from our world?â He couldnât even smell her scent, which she had hidden well with her powers.
âOf course. But my parents raised me in the human world before they died.â
âSo, you are an orphan?â He asked, searching for any inconsistencies in her eyes and demeanor but finding none.
âYes. Will you give me a place to stay? Since you are the only one I know, I would rather be close to you. I could be yourâ¦â
Daisy used the words she regretted throughout her stay in the Crescent Moon pack, and it was also the reason she was accepted into the pack by Alpha Calhoun.
She thought of a way to be close to him. He had the looks, but his voice was different, and he didnât seem to recognize her.
If she confirmed that he had the crescent pendant, then that would mean he had changed but was still the same person.
âMy what?â His voice interrupted her deep thoughts, and she looked up, staring into his eyes.
âYourâ¦â
