“Tell me your plans, and I will help you achieve them,” Beta Dustin said seriously, but Alpha Nick shook his head and asked him,

“What about Sheila? Were you able to find out her whereabouts?” Alpha Nick wasn’t ready to reveal his plans until he was certain about Beta Dustin’s stand on Sheila after the revelation, knowing that the latter did not really like Sheila in the beginning.

To Alpha Nick’s shock, Beta Dustin was rather remorseful. It was unexpected, and he regretted being so blind to all the signs just because Charlotte and Alpha Nick were mates. How could he have trusted her?

Now he felt like Charlotte took both the Alpha and Beta of the Dark Moon Pack for granted. “I’m so sorry, Alpha, but the investigator said there was nothing on her.”

Alpha Nick wasn’t surprised. With all the money Sheila had, she could do anything, including hiding her identity.

“You shouldn’t use her name Sheila, but rather the CEO of Sherry’s Couture and Glamour. I wonder what the Sherry stands for. It might be an abbreviation of her real name.”

“Could it be Sheridan?” Beta Dustin asked, feeling it was the perfect abbreviation for Sherry. Alpha Nick was a bit reluctant to accept it. Sheridan was a very elegant name, so why use Sherry?

“Sheridan is abbreviated as Sheri. Why would she use ‘y‘ when they sound the same?” Alpha Nick mused to Beta Dustin. The latter thought for a while and asked,

“I will still check with Sheridan, but what is her surname?”

Alpha Nick calmed himself and thought carefully. “She mentioned Warner before, but I don’t know anymore. She’s so mysterious after the divorce.”

“I will try my best. I need to apologize to her,” Beta Dustin said seriously. The revelation about Charlotte’s cheating did not break his trust in the mate bond, but he knew he had to be very careful.

“What did you do to her?” Alpha Nick asked since Beta Dustin had no record of doing anything out of the ordinary against Sheila.

“Nothing, but I just didn’t like her because she wasn’t your mate. I gave her the cold shoulder most times,” he

confessed sincerely, so he’d be able to hold Sheila’s gaze, just in case she was able to return to the Dark Moon

Alpha Nick was equally remorseful. “She saved my face on that day, but I never even thanked or appreciated her, just thinking that she took advantage of the situation.” Recalling that Sheila had warned him against Charlotte, he kept wondering why she knew so much and kept mute about it.

Then again, even if she had mentioned it, Alpha Nick would have never believed it.

“Since you saw her, didn’t you get anything?” Dustin asked suspiciously.

Alpha Nick’s expression was sorrowful upon recalling Sheila’s words when confronted with the lies she had said

“No. Even when I asked about why she lied about being an orphan, she said it was because I became her everything when she fell in love with me. Can you understand the extent of the damage I caused her because of Charlotte?” He sounded so bitter that all he wanted to do was subject both Charlotte and Tom to public execution.

Sadly, that would not bring Sheila back. He would have to find a better way of making them pay for all their wrongs towards him. Dustin was equally bitter.

He undermined Sheila because of her battle skills and great leadership abilities, unknown to him that she was far more than that. Feeling foolish for not recognizing a good woman, he couldn’t also blame Alpha Nick for all that has happened between him and Sheila.

“I understand, but it’s not your fault. We were all trained to respect the mate bond.”

Alpha Nick felt his words were coated out of context. “No. That didn’t approve of my disrespecting her. She gave her all, expecting nothing when my destined mate only planned to steal money from the pack’s accounts.” He could have respected the mate bond by waiting patiently for Charlotte, but it didn’t warrant his mean attitude towards Sheila.

Come to think of it, he was the one using her the whole time as it was only him and his pack members who benefited from her. Sheila did not benefit from anything nor gain anything throughout her time spent, and yet, Charlotte, his destined mate, was only there for the money.

Beta Dustin was even more pained at the revelation. No wonder Charlotte returned. It was because Tom’s company was not doing so well. “I never expected Charlotte to be a gold digger and also did some wrongs to

Alpha Nick knew that if given the opportunity to marry Sheila again, then he’d be the luckiest man on earth, but the woman he saw at the gala awards was so cold towards him.

“She isn’t my mate, but I don’t feel repulsed by her like I was of Charlotte when she returned. I can live in peace

with her.”

“Why don’t you reject Charlotte? You might just find your second chance mate,” Beta Dustin suggested, reasoning that until he rejected Charlotte, he would not be able to feel another mate bond, even if his second chance mate was sitting right in front of him, but Alpha Nick thought otherwise.

“Reject her and let her go after all the damage she has caused? She has to pay for everything. I won’t let her go just like that,” he vowed with determination, but Dustin was afraid of losing Sheila, especially when Alpha Nick only told the pack–members that she was away for a while and would soon return.

Now that he thought about it, it was a smart move to not have broken everything in front of the pack members, and should Sheila return, she would feel at home with the pack members.

Even him, Beta Dustin, was willing to give her the due respect but feared a little. “What if Sheila finds her mate?”

Alpha Nick’s gaze suddenly darkened at the notion. Even without all these findings, he couldn’t bear to see Sheila with another man, so how could he do so after this knowledge?

“I won’t allow it. I was told by one of her managers that she was going to be at the Alpha King’s daughter’s birthday party. I have to be there to see her.”

Better Dustin was grateful for the opportunity, and there was a level of determination in his heart. He only hoped that the Alpha would agree to it as he asked seriously,

“Can you do me a favor?”

Alpha Nick frowned slightly, not wanting to commit himself and be trapped. “Unless I know what it is.”
